Actress Roseanne Barr rebuff her bosses at ABC Entertainment on Tuesday, promising that the next season of her hit sitcom Roseanne will be “even braver” and politically ‘timely’ than the last. “Don’t worry, #Roseanne show fans-next season will be even braver/funnier/timely than this season, despite what anyone mistakenly says,” the actress wrote on Twitter. Roseanne Barr ? @therealroseanne don´t worry, #Roseanne show fans-next season will be even braver/funnier/timely than this season, despite what anyone mistakenly says.

Comments:
At least Barr knows how to read the public.

Hype or not, I´ll wait and see. She´s put a lot on the line and deserves a chance to be taken at her word. Yes, this is just a tv show, but it´s also another place in our culture where our message can be heard. I´m for using every opportunity and vehicle available.

I´ve been following the show. Yes, I think it is funny. I like how "Roseanne" touches on issues in a humorous way and provides an interesting perspective or commentary in the process.

I do not mind that some characters take a more liberal view of things because the show provides balance--at least more balance than most TV shows these days. At least there is an everyday-middle-American perspective along with the usual liberal tripe. That hardly ever happens on TV.

I cannot believe I am saying that I like the show. Twenty years ago, I was not a fan. Over time, however, the re-runs have grown on me a lot.

Are my tastes changing? Perhaps. Or perhaps TV shows have gotten so bad that my dislikes 20 years ago are good by comparison.

I liked Roseanne then and I like her now. There are some things about her show I can relate to, which at this time in my life I can look back on and smile.
It´s only a show, but it is serious in a funny sort of way.
The only thing about Roseanne I don´t like is the way she purposely slaughtered the National Anthem that I revere and hold sacred.
I do like her show and the humerus way she tackles the problems and situations that some of our population go through or have gone through.

Just why is it necessary to inject politics into "humor"? All the time. Sports is on it´s way to oblivion because of it and now our "beloved" sitcoms. Conservative or liberal, it does not matter. It is getting very tiresome.

Nunes: Mueller indictment

Washington Examiner, by Byron York    Original Article

In a tweet Sunday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., a member and former chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, boiled down special counsel Robert Mueller´s new Russian election-meddling indictment to one basic lesson: "Key point in Special Counsel Mueller´s indictment: A dozen Russian military intelligence officials conducted the hacking of Democrats during the 2016 campaign." Other commentators, most with less knowledge than Feinstein, offered similar assessments. Regardless of what President Trump might say, they noted, the indictment showed very clearly that the Russians — Russian military intelligence, specifically — did it. What few mentioned was that there had been a similar assessment —

President Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani insisted early Friday that congressional grilling of FBI agent Peter Strzok showed the investigation against his client is irreparably biased. Giuliani called for special counsel Robert Mueller’s entire probe of the Trump campaign — and potential collusion with Russia — to be ended immediately, because Strzok once wrote text messages critical of the president. “Peter Strzok’s testimony was a disgrace,” the former New York mayor tweeted at 12:44 a.m. “It taints the entire Mueller witchunt. U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday revealed a letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that expressed hope for further progress in bilateral ties. In a Twitter message, Trump wrote, "A very nice note from Chairman Kim of North Korea. Great progress being made!" Attached were two images of the letter -- one in Korean and the other an English translation. Dated July 6, the note was likely the one given to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during his visit to Pyongyang last week. It is hard to think of a demarche quite like the blast President Trump just delivered in respect of Brexit. It came in the form of an interview with the London daily Sun, in which Mr. Trump lit into Prime Minister Theresa May for making a bollix of Britain’s exit from the European Union. He’d told her how to do it, he claimed, and she failed to take his advice. This hit the internet as Mr. Trump was finishing his dinner with Mrs. May, and scores of others, at Blenheim Palace.

Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement has ignited a competition in Big Media for apocalyptic hot-takes on how a marginally more conservative Supreme Court will destroy America. CNN’s senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin seems bent on taking home the trophy for the most molten meltdown. Toobin’s most recent rave, to the network’s Anderson Cooper, was that the stakes are higher on judicial confirmations today because “[w]hen the Constitution was written in the late eighteenth century, people were expected to die in their 50s. The framers never contemplated that these terms would regularly go to 30-plus years as they do now.”Toobin is

Liberals claim to despise Trump voters for all sorts of reasons, but Nancy Sinatra, daughter of the late great Frank Sinatra, made it clear on social media that she specifically hates Trump voters – and “especially the women” – for wanting to overturn Roe v. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) tweeted out a dire warning that all of Trump’s potential nominees “want to take away a woman’s constitutional right to make her own health care decisions.” “We cannot go back to the days before Roe v. ‘I’d like to kill ‘em’: GOP

Republican senators are at their breaking point with Donald Trump’s protectionist trade blitz. Not a party meeting goes by these days where multiple Republicans don’t vent that the president isn’t listening to them — and plot how to fight back. “I’d like to kill ’em,” groused Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), a close Trump ally, referring to the administration’s expanding list of tariffs. The mounting frustration with the Republican president is a warning sign for the party amid what’s been a surprisingly favorable stretch. Trump appears, at least for now, to have weathered the internal GOP backlash against his family separation policy.

Trump’s trip was not a state visit and so only the Queen greeted the president and his wife Melania. However even on working trips dignitaries expect to see more members of the royal family than only the Queen. Watching FBI agent Peter Strzok battle with Congress, my initial reaction was pure anger. His repeated, arrogant insistence that he had done nothing wrong despite tons of evidence to the contrary convinced me he deserved immediate firing — if not the firing squad. Gradually, though, anger gave way to amazement as Strzok grew increasingly combative and condescending. Given his predicament, the sneering and smirking were stupid, and yet he persisted.
