A report of a suspicious person crackled from John Messner’s RadioShack police scanner, one of two he keeps at his home in Knoxville, Tenn. When an officer was heard yelling “Shots fired!” minutes later, Mr. Messner knew it was time to go. The 52-year-old construction worker and photographer grabbed his two cameras, his portable scanner, jumped in his 1999 Plymouth Voyager minivan, and raced to the scene 3 miles away, where a suspected burglar was shot by police. “When I got there, the guy was still on the ground, they hadn’t put him in the ambulance yet,” said Mr. Messner of the

I have mixed feelings on this one. On the one hand you don´t want criminals knowing what the police are doing. On the other, their body cams and car cams show us a lot of things that the police are doing wrong and illegally and lying about it when they can. Hiding law enforcement actions behind a veil of secrecy is what enabled a corrupt FBI.

The Republican National Committee paid nearly half a million dollars to a law firm that represents former White House communications director Hope Hicks and others in the Russia investigations, according to a new federal filing. The RNC´s $451,780 payment to Trout Cacheris & Janis adds to the mounting legal fees associated with the investigations by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III and several congressional committees of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign. Hicks hired Robert Trout, founder of the law firm, as her personal attorney in September, according to news reports. The report of the payments for legal and compliance services,

Special counsel Robert Mueller´s recent admission that the May 17, 2017 Justice Department order defining the scope of his investigation was just for show -- and that the real extent of his probe is a secret -- is reverberating on Capitol Hill. On Thursday, Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Charles Grassley wrote to deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein, asking to see the document outlining the true scope of the Mueller investigation. Grassley noted that earlier this month, federal judge T.S. Ellis "expressed some skepticism" about the secrecy of Mueller´s authority and demanded to be shown an August 2, 2017 memo that is

When President Trump tweeted in March 2017 that the Obama administration "had his wires tapped" during the 2016 presidential campaign, he wasn´t entirely wrong. Donald J. Trump ? @realDonaldTrump Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism! Further, the piece reveals the FBI didn´t have enough evidence to open a criminal investigation into members

Records pertaining to the financial activities of President Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen are not missing from a government database; rather Treasury Department officials have taken the highly unusual step of restricting access to them even from certain law enforcement agencies, according to three sources familiar with the matter. The New Yorker magazine this week reported that a law enforcement official — worried the information about Cohen’s banking records had been removed from government databases and therefore might be covered up — had admitted to leaking some of what was still accessible. The information that was leaked, showed that Cohen, through a shell

WASHINGTON - U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office on Thursday gave a federal court a classified memo describing the extent of his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and other related crimes. The memo was filed in response to questions raised in the court in Virginia two weeks ago by Judge T.S. Ellis that Mueller should not have “unfettered powers.” Ellis demanded to see an unredacted copy of the August 2017 memo written by U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein that defined Mueller’s investigative mandate. Ellis will review the memo before deciding whether or not to dismiss charges against President

Take your pick: the Daily News or Goldberg. I vote for Goldberg. It is hard to know where to begin to unpack her lies and deceptions, but let’s try a few.

Testifying behind closed doors on Capitol Hill in late March, the official, John K. Donald Trump has stayed uncharacteristically quiet on Twitter without posting a single tweet about the royal wedding. The President, who is usually especially active on the social media network early in the day, did not tweet anything all morning about the nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which ended at 9.00am ET. Rumors swirled about whether Trump would be invited to the wedding at Windsor Castle in Berkshire, but he was eventually left off the guest list, along with other political leaders. Prominent figures who made the cut included Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney and the Beckhams. Other A-listers including Idris

It means that five family members have to die before you get the real goodies. Granted, those goodies are amazing. The New York Times and Washington Post, the Democrats´ semi-official newspapers this week megaphoned the instigators, offering up their justifications without naming his name. Again, the name is Stefan Halper, who, as I wrote here last week, was paid a substantial sum by the Department of Defense´s Office of Net Assessment. If it was for this work – and it suspiciously looks like it because the payments were made in July and September of 2016
