Iran signs agreement with
British consortium to develop oil

Associated Press, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 5/17/2018 4:34:34 AM

Iranian state TV is reporting that Tehran has signed an agreement with a British consortium to develop an oil field in the country´s south. The agreement is the first between Iran and a key Western ally of the United States since Washington last week announced it will pull out of the landmark 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and Western powers. Managing Director of Pergas International Consortium Colin Rowley, and Bijan Alipour, managing director of National Iranian South Oil Co., signed a preliminary deed on the partnership in the presence of British Ambassador Rob Macaire in Tehran on Wednesday night.

Comments:
Et tu, UK?

If true, this is really going to test President Trump and his State Department on our resolve to punish Iran, like North Korea to give up its nuclear and missile weapons programs. We have the oil to sell to them, so this doesn´t make sense unless it´s about jobs to them.

This article offers less than more on the deal.

1. It´s not a deal that just jumped out of a paper sack. These agreements evolve out of lengthy negotiations that were most likely within the confines of previous sanctions on Iran.
2. The signatures were on a "Preliminary Deed" which likely spells out a starting point leaving the doors open for a final contract if a new and sane nuclear deal with Western Allies is cut.
3. Iranian State TV is blowing smoke that they are hoping will drift into the negotiations and contaminate any future nuclear deal that the US accepts.
4. Though the British Ambassador was present, this is not an agreement between "A Key Western Ally," the UK, and Iran but with a private Consortium and the Iranian government oil company.

It´s a long way from this signature to dropping a drill bit in the ground.

Let´s be honest - the UK has had pretty poor judgement throughout their history. They didn´t think Americans could achieve independence, Churchill had to pull them back from the cliff when they were not worried about Hitler. Currently they have allowed their country to be over-run with muslim immigration. And all they seem to care about is a royal wedding.

Omaha, NE - Six young squirrels whose tails were stuck together by tree sap are recovering after a Nebraska wildlife expert untangled them. A Nebraska Humane Society worker rescued the squirrels from a pine tree in Omaha last week. Nebraska Wildlife Rehab executive director Laura Stastny told the Omaha World-Herald that the sap-covered tails became knotted as the youngsters wrestled in their nest. Stastny says they are about 8 weeks old. Windsor, England - Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle at the royal wedding — stepping in after the father of the bride fell ill just days before the ceremony. Kensington Palace said Friday that Markle´s future father-in-law, the heir to the British throne, would walk the American actress down the aisle at St. George´s Chapel in Windsor for her wedding to Prince Harry. The palace says he "is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to the Royal Family in this way." Doctors say former Russian spy Sergei Skripal has been discharged from a hospital, more than two months after he was poisoned with a nerve agent. Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found unconscious in the English city of Salisbury on March 4, and spent weeks in critical condition. Yulia recovered more quickly than her father and was discharged last month. Salisbury District Hospital said Friday that both patients had now been released. They have been taken to an undisclosed location for their safety. Britain says the pair was poisoned with a military-grade nerve agent and that Russia was behind the attack. Moscow denies it,

It’s never easy to say you’re sorry. To admit you’re wrong. To announce publicly, “I made a mistake”. But to apologise when that apology comes bound up with what is, perhaps, the most intractable conflict on earth, makes it a thousand times harder. But that is what I am. Sorry. A few days ago I wrote a column about the latest round of violence on the border with Gaza. It was a cry from the heart. I love Israel. I have always loved it, and cannot envision a time when I will not love it. But in my office, I sit near a television set. And on Monday, I saw the following, side by side. On the left, in Jerusalem, I saw happy faces.

The Department of Justice Inspector General has sent what is described as an “extremely long and thorough draft” of the much anticipated report on the FBI and DOJ’s investigation and handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe, this reporter has learned. The detailed report on the FBI’s decision making process into the Clinton investigation could lead to possible criminal referrals for some of the officials involved in the case. Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report, which is expected to be released within the next three to four weeks to the public, has been turned over to current and former officials for review,

Serial killers may be known for their bloody work, but like the rest of us, they also hold day jobs to bring in the cash. Criminologist Professor Michael Arntfield has examined details of serial killers over the past five decades and has discovered a pattern: that these killers are more likely to be drawn to some jobs more than others. In his new book, “Murder in Plain English,” Arntfield outlines the top 12 professions that most attract serial killers — and the list is frightening. The jobs tend to be practical and “facilitate a desire to kill.” “[It’s a] combination of mobility, power (whether structural or actual), and the fact many jobs also

Since Mueller can’t indict Trump,

Wednesday’s report from Trump attorney Rudy Giulianni that Robert Mueller’s special counsel office has acknowledged that his office can’t indict a sitting president raises an important constitutional question. What is Mr. Mueller doing with a grand jury? Attorney Victoria Toensing wrote about this issue several days ago at Fox News.com. If Mueller cannot indict President Trump, what possible use can he make of any presidential testimony? The only option is that he will provide it to Congress for consideration of articles of impeachment. But referring President Trump’s testimony to Congress would abuse the grand

Senate votes to restore

San Francisco - The Senate has voted to reinstate net neutrality protections, with three Republicans joining an effort to override a controversial Federal Communications Commission (FCC) decision. A broader consumer backlash greeted the FCC’s decision earlier this year to repeal the Obama-era rules, which required internet service providers to treat all traffic equally. While supportive commissioners said doing away with cumbersome regulations would encourage innovation, critics warned the decision would undermine an open internet. In the months since, Democratic elected officials have pushed to invoke a law allowing Congress to reverse regulators, seizing on an issue that energises their constituents.

It took about five years or more for the Securities Exchange Commission to create a rule. They finally did so now we have a data set of about 225 public the traded companies. We find that CEOs are paid an exorbitant amount of money’s compared workers.
