Seoul - North Korea said Wednesday it is canceling high-level talks with South Korea and threatened to pull out of a summit with the United States over the allies´ ongoing military exercises. The North´s Korean Central News Agency said the Max Thunder drills between the South Korean and U.S. air forces are a rehearsal for invasion of the North and a provocation amid warming inter-Korean ties. It also called into question whether next month´s summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump can go ahead as planned. "This exercise targeting us, which is being carried out across

The negotiations between President Trump and Kim Jong-un are akin to a high stakes poker game. President Trump holds one card that Kim can´t fight against. That is, we control the devastating sanctions against his country, which will not be lifted till "all" previously stated results, such as the decentralization of North Korea are met. Kim has much to win, but more to lose if he continues to bluff his people into oblivion.

Kim probably thought all this talk of reconciliation and talks would loosen the political resolve of our president and cause him to soften his demands....wrong! This would have worked for the spineless obama and by now he would be sending planeloads of cash to NK.

Give Trump credit for not claiming victory before it happens. There has been way too much talk of a Nobel prize, the dance of joy over bringing KJU to his knees. He may back out, he may never have been serious, but given what to expect of any sole ruler, it is entirely possible the deal could be squelched by painting a picture of capitulation. There are times to shut the hell up.

#20, I agree. China is playing both sides of the street. Never forget they are our enemy and their desire is to best us in every aspect. If they can make the President lose face, they will. If, however, they see he is going to be successful, they want in on the glory. Patience, grasshopper. The President is more than aware of their cunning. He’s no novice and knows he is sitting in the catbird seat.

Iran has a part in this as well. Iran has been an ally in terror for North Korea and they have been sharing nuke technology. With the hatred of Bolton and mentions of Libya, again that indicates Iran. Once North Korea changes their tune, Iran is further isolated, something they will work to avoid.

Bringing President Trump’s aide John Bolton up is nothing but a diversion by the North Koreans, as Trump aides don’t make final negotiating positions in the Trump Administration. The North Koreans probably came to the conclusion that they are not going to be able to bluff Trump as they did Bush and Obama. Remember what happened in Libya was just another Obama-Hillary Clinton foreign policy fiasco that sent that country back into the dark ages.

I believe #20 is correct. There are several pieces in play here.

The Chinese want to try to get something out of the trade negotiations with the President´s team.

Having traveled there recently, obvious to me that the Chinese economy is a house of cards at best within a restless population. But, they hold some cards too, such as willingness to keep buying US Treasuries to help keep the US government afloat.

Chinese Pres. Xi Jinping wants to keep NK under his wing not the USA´s. So Kimmie tells the USA what Xi want him to say. Kimmie is a useful idiot at this stage, but, doesn´t know it yet.

As directed by Xi, Kimmie foolishly wants to understand President Trump´s red lines. Careful what you wish for, Kimmie. Kimmie now sees Iran in the mix and wants to see where Trump goes with this now that the USA is out of the nuke "deal". Again, careful what you wish for, Kimmie.

Kimmie, when is Xi expecting you to report back to him on progress with Trump?

Other than Xi/Kimmie stirring the pot, nothing else to see here. Kimmie´s meeting-canceling antics is just theater.

Nothing to be concerned about. During the 1950´s Peace Talks in Korea, the parties wrangled over the size and shape of the table for eons. Later all the Ivy League "universities" gave classes on debating about shapes of tables for future "peace talk" negotiators.

As noted earlier, this is an annual ploy of the NK resident Kim, However, there may be opportunity here.

President could play the game and agree - show of statesmenship, etc. while still retaining the card at anytime Kim faltered.

President could ignore the challenge as in the past and call the Kim bluff with threat of more sanctions if talks not held.

President could invite Kim´s forces to join (or Kim to observe) the exercise.

President could decide that Kim´s threat is actually a Chinese play card in the game and call the Chinese President to knock it off or face other economic consequences.

Or the President could ask how would Hillary or Kerry handle this and fork over billions of dollars in bribe money.

Decisions. Decisions. Decisions. I guess that´s why PDJT gets paid the big bucks. Oh, wait ....

Washington - The Trump administration has told lawmakers it has reached a deal that would keep the Chinese telecom firm ZTE alive, a person familiar with the matter said. The move could allow trade negotiations with China to move forward, but would probably provoke an intense backlash in Congress. Under the agreement brokered by the Commerce Department, ZTE would pay a substantial fine, hire American compliance officers to be placed at the firm and make changes to its current management team. The Food and Drug Administration issued parents some stern warnings about teething medicines for their babies, and simultaneously told manufacturers and retailers that if they didn’t “voluntarily” stop selling the product to the tiny toddler demographic, they would face legal action from the feds. And the bigger theme, of course, would be this: Shouldn’t parents, rather than government, be the final deciders of what’s best for their babies? After all, the FDA has been warning about the

He got global recognition and regard. He´s the big winner." "When he got this letter from the president saying ´OK, never mind´ — he must be having a giggle fit right there in

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said Wednesday that if you don’t understand how the FBI hurt Hillary Clinton and not Donald Trump in the 2016 election, you’re “too stupid to handle household appliances.” WATCH: (Video) “Everything the FBI did in the home stretch was to Donald Trump’s benefit and Hillary Clinton’s detriment. Clinton’s detriment, including McCabe’s leak,” Scarborough said.) He continued, “Now, for somebody not to understand that, I mean, seriously, suggests only one thing — and that is, they are either intentionally lying or they are too stupid to handle household appliances.” Trump went on a tweet storm Wednesday over the

Democrats and their media allies are again shouting “constitutional crisis,” this time claiming President Trump has waded too far into the Russia investigation. The howls are a diversion from the actual crisis: the Justice Department’s unprecedented contempt for duly elected representatives, and the lasting harm it is doing to law enforcement and to the department’s relationship with Congress. The conceit of those claiming Mr. Trump has crossed some line in ordering the Justice Department to comply with oversight is that “investigators” are beyond question. We are meant to take them at their word that they did everything

John Brennan, President Obama’s former CIA director, again used his verified Twitter account Saturday to lash out at President Trump, this time by threatening House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). (Snip) Brennan did not explain what “major responsibility” Ryan and McConnell will “bear,” but as America’s former chief spy, Brennan probably has all kinds of Deep State ties, methods, and contacts at his disposal. Brennan’s threat was in response to President Trump’s ordering the Justice Department to look into the Obama administration’s spying on his 2016 presidential campaign, an unprecedented act that a number

Netflix´s deal with former President Obama to produce content for its shows isn´t going as well as its media toadies hailing the scheme thought it would. They presented us with this, and assumed we´d get excited about it. NPR reports: Netflix said in a statement that the Obamas would "produce a diverse mix of content – including docu-series, documentaries and features" under their imprint, Higher Ground Productions. "Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix – we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help

Democrats will be allowed inside the top secret White House meeting where law enforcement and intelligence officials plan to reveal information about the use of an FBI informant during the 2016 campaign. The White House gave into demands from party leaders to be in the room and is expected to invite the ´Gang of 8,´ a bipartisan group of House and Senate leadership to attend, ABC News reported.
