More than SIXTY Team USA Olympians
choose not to attend White House reception
hosted by President Trump in their honor

Daily Mail [UK], by Jessica Finn

US Winter Olympians who competed in PyeongChang are heading to the White House this week, but some of the most notable names are skipping the prestigious event. The 2018 Winter Olympics were, at times, used by athletes to vocalize their dissatisfaction with the Trump administration. Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, figure skater Adam Rippon and freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy have all spoke out against the administration. They are among a large swath of about 60 Olympians who will not attend the White House reception this year. Chloe Kim, Mirai Nagasu, Mikaela Shiffrin, and Shaun White are also not visiting the White House

Their call. We knew Vonn, Rippon and Kenworthy (the latter two are flaming gay men) were spouting anti-Trump, as did Vonn, Tiger’s aging mistress/nanny. Definitely not sportsmen in the true sense of the word.

Cancel the public reception and have a private reception for those that are not cretins.

Re #2, forget about it. And take the time to educate yourself about Californians… Start with the fact that there are 5+ registered Republicans there. How many in your state?

First Olympics in my lifetime that I´ve actively rooted against some "Americans." It won´t be the last.

It used to be fun watching skaters swish around the ice. Now that it´s the other way around, forget it.

If and when they mature, they might regret that they missed their one chance to be invited to the White House. It is an honor very few get in their lifetimes. I´m sure their grandchildren will be sooooo impressed when Granddaddy or Grandmummy brags about how they boycotted the White House reception with the evil President Trump and that´s why there´s no picture with the President.

I didn’t watch the Olympics but some of the names listed were in the news and I seem to recall that they all performed poorly after bashing Trump.

Their trainers should have taught them long ago that a negative attitude affects one’s performance. Same goes for the NFL kneelers.

Adios, losers!

I place the blame on B Clinton and B. Obama. They cheapened the presidency to the point that , not, it really isn´t as big a deal to the millenniums. Sadly regret is only awarded after the fact and they will not realize that it is no about the person, but the office. I have a few more mistakes to make yet in this life. They have many more than I.

I used to think Avery Brundage was a harsh, somewhat petty man when I read about his decisions during his tenure as IOC head. In retrospect, I realize that his iron fist and insistence upon amateurism, maintaining a good public image and patriotism were necessary to keep the athletes/herd of cats in line. I am guessing athletes who behaved like these babies would have been kicked off of the team.

Good lesson for us all, verify future Olympian contenders to ensure they represent all of America. Make them sign contracts for engagements and tours to mentor our youth. If they can´t do these little things, remove their funding and access to the Olympic center in Colorado Springs.

About 25% of U.S. Olympians are refusing to attend the White House reception. It is wondered if they ever thought about how their refusals might be met in North Korea, etc.?

The ones who are protesting this incredible honor are not the best of our best - they are the spoiled, pampered, egotistical participants who think that their political opinions matter to anyone but themselves. ]

These immature young athletes comprise 25% of our Olympics team but they are 100% of our embarrassment and disgust.

Doesn´t surprise me one bit. Preparing an Olympian requires a lot of money. That means that someone who wants to compete, must either be a child of independent means or you must get the attention of someone rich to sponsor you.

Most of the money in this country is held by Liberals or people who (like Trump) had reason to fake being liberal. No one gets past government unless they toe the line in their public Liberality and getting past government, in the U.S.A. these days is absolutely required to acquire or retain wealth.

That being the case, who in their right minds will not hide as a lefty if everything they worked for depended on them being perceived as a Lefty?

Its one of the reasons I have no interest in Olympics, any more. The fact that they can use the force of government to bypass the First Amendment is maddening.

I love the Olympics, and that is why I many times cheer for athletes from other countries rather than my own country of the USA, to win the competition. It is MY choice to cheer against USA´s smug athletes. I have no nationality loyalty when it comes to sports. I cheer for the person, not the nation. Too many athletes in America now believe they should be political and defy anyone to disagree with them. I say NUTS!

Trump never had a reputation for gay-bashing. In fact, he had many gay people working for him in his hotels and other ventures, and even had personal and business relationships in the music industry with many gays.

The only type of "gay" he might have caused some consternation about were the pedophiles who were in orbit around Epstein. The Donald was a witness to Epstein´s bringing underage girls around with him.

If the gay blades upset with the President are pedophiles, I´m not sure anybody cares how upset they are. One would hope they stay away from the Olympics in the future.

More than two-thirds of Americans credit President Donald Trump for the country’s healthy economy, a new poll has revealed. The CBS News poll which was released on Sunday shows a sharp partisan divide, with Republicans more likely to give the president positive reviews while Democrats and Independents are not as complimentary. According to the survey, 35 per cent of Americans say Trump’s policies are ‘a great deal’ responsible for the economy. Around the same number - 33 per cent - say the president’s policies are ‘somewhat’ responsible. Nearly one-third say that Trump is either ‘not very’ or ‘not at all’ responsible for the strong

There was a depressing familiarity both to Hamas’s suicide protest operation along Gaza’s border with Israel this week and to Israel’s response to it. Hamas’s jihadist regime in Gaza doesn’t have a lot of cards to play in its continuous war against the Jewish state. But, as we have been seeing since Hamas launched its campaign against the border six weeks ago, it does have one card, and no matter how often it plays that card, Israel can’t seem to figure out how to beat it. Hamas’s card is Western hostility to Israel. The Western media, along with the EU and most

Donald Trump has stayed uncharacteristically quiet on Twitter without posting a single tweet about the royal wedding. The President, who is usually especially active on the social media network early in the day, did not tweet anything all morning about the nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which ended at 9.00am ET. Rumors swirled about whether Trump would be invited to the wedding at Windsor Castle in Berkshire, but he was eventually left off the guest list, along with other political leaders. Hawaii´s Kilauea volcano is violently spewing lava up to 200 feet in the air and firing out lava bombs the size of refrigerators in apocalyptic scenes with six of 22 fissures active on Friday. The latest in more than two weeks of eruptions has sent fresher, hotter lava speeding towards an isolated residential area, and officials are using helicopters to see if there is anyone still there that needs assistance, Hawaii News Now reported. Residents who have already evacuated the affected area have been told not to try and return home, and emergency services and the national guard are being sent to

A star baseball player was shot in the head during the Texas school shooting but survived as the hero cop who confronted him remains in stable condition. Rome Shubert, a University of Huston baseball commitment and a sophomore pitcher for Santa Fe High School, was shot in the back of the head, but was well enough to tweet about the tragedy Friday afternoon. ´I´m so greatful and blessed that god spared me life today,´ he wrote. ´Today I was shot in the back of the head but i am completely okay and stable.´ He told the Houston Chronicle was in his classroom when

Donald Trump says he´ll nominate Acting Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie to permanently lead the beleaguered department. Wilkie is a former Pentagon undersecretary for personnel and readiness. He´s led the agency for two months, ever since Trump fired David Shulkin amid an internal revolt and questions about his compliance with ethics rules. Trump surprised him on Friday with an East Room announcement during a prison reform event. ´I´ll be informing him in a little while, he doesn´t know this yet, that we´re going to be putting his name up for nomination to be secretary of the Veterans Administration,´

WASHINGTON — A West Wing aide´s morbid remark about gravely ill Sen. John McCain has not yielded widespread White House soul searching. Instead it has produced a push to fire those responsible for leaking that story and others that have bedeviled President Donald Trump´s administration. Nearly a week after Kelly Sadler dismissed McCain´s opinion on Trump´s CIA nominee during a closed-door meeting by saying "he´s dying anyway," a torrent of criticism has rained down upon the White House. The administration has repeatedly declined to publicly apologize, but the fallout has shaken the West Wing, where the focus remains on who leaked

The Trump administration gets it and blames Hamas fully for the casualties in Gaza, and separating itself from ALL previous administrations, asks for no “restraint” under the circumstances. That is something entirely new. But then comes The New York Times with the same old grudge and runs its top story like this -- “Israel kills dozens and injures 2,400 at Gaza border.” Kills? That is pure yellow journalism using the active voice to spread a big lie. The passive voice works like this -- “Gas pipelines in Gaza were seriously damaged during Palestinian protests.” Why so dubious? We know the Islamic terrorists did it

Prominent figures who made the cut included Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney and the Beckhams. Other A-listers including Idris

The man who is sixth in line to be king of Great Britain is getting married today and America has lost its mind. What does it mean to be sixth in the line of royal succession to an office that depends solely and exclusively on who your father is? It means that five family members have to die before you get the real goodies. Granted, those goodies are amazing. Who wouldn´t want to live in a thousand year old castle (too bad it´s in Scotland) or have dozens of "servants" cater to your every whim and need? But that lifestyle depends on people believing that you are deserving of such wealth and privilege because you happened to be

His guest shot in “enemy territory” was a prominent stop on the media tour to promote his new book on Reagan and Gorbachev, Three Days in Moscow. Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton acknowledged Friday that Democratic candidates around the country still face basic questions about what they stand for and which policies their party supports. Speaking at a Democrat Women’s Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., Clinton urged party leaders to return to the basics and lay out the party’s values for voters. Fair wages, the “absolute promise of universal health care,” public school funding, gun safety reform and equal pay were at the top of the former first lady’s agenda items that she thought should stay central to the Democratic Party’s platform.

WASHINGTON — President Trump accused the F.B.I. on Friday, without evidence, of sending a spy to secretly infiltrate his 2016 campaign “for political purposes” even before the bureau had any inkling of the “phony Russia hoax.” In fact, F.B.I. agents sent an informant to talk to two campaign advisers only after they received evidence that the pair had suspicious contacts linked to Russia during the campaign. The informant, an American academic who teaches in Britain, made contact late that summer with one campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, according to people familiar with the matter. He also met repeatedly in the

Former President Jimmy Carter jabbed President Trump during his commencement speech at Liberty University in Virginia on Saturday, joking about the crowd size at the event. Carter pointed out that the crowd size at the commencement was bigger this year than when Trump spoke to Liberty graduates in 2017, the Associated Press reported. “I don’t know if President Trump would admit that," Carter said, referring to the Trump’s claim, which was widely determined to be false, that his inauguration crowd exceeded 1 million people. Carter wasn´t the only one to bring up the Trump inauguration crowd size Saturday. The Twitter

Former Education Secretary Arne Duncan said parents should pull their children out of school until Congress passes gun control legislation. "What if no children went to school until gun laws changed to keep them safe?" Duncan tweeted Saturday. Duncan, who served as secretary under President Obama, called the step "tragically necessary." "My family is all in if we can do this at scale. Parents, will you please join us?" he said. Duncan´s plea comes one day after 10 people were killed in a mass shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas.

A Cambridge professor with deep ties to American and British intelligence has been outed as an agent who snooped on the Trump presidential campaign for the FBI. Multiple media outlets have named Stefan Halper, 73, as the secret informant who met with Trump campaign advisers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos starting in the summer of 2016. The American-born academic previously served in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan administrations. The revelation, stemming from recent reports in which FBI sources admitted sending an agent to snoop on the Trump camp, heightens suspicions that the FBI was seeking to entrap
