Wisdom and the Smartest People Ever
American Thinker, by David Prentice

We value intelligence and knowledge. With good reason. Intelligent, thoughtful illumination has an uplifting effect on individuals and a civilization. We´ve seen that many times throughout history. The founding of our American Republic is one such stellar example.Back in the 1980s, I recall someone lamenting how the most qualified and best candidate to never become president was Adlai Stephenson. Certainly, the Democratic Party has been trying since Stephenson to claim the mantle of "intelligent." Democrats are always the smart ones – smarter, better policies, and as a result morally superior. Now, it´s hard not to notice that the pinnacle of the

"We´re smart! We´re smart!" yammer the democrats. "We´re smart because we ALL say so!" The horde of deranged rabid ankle biters surges and swirls as on of the larger, deadlier beasts push to the front.

"You´re smart! You´re all smart, because you listen to ME!" it bellows in an ivy league accent. "Attack ANYONE who disagrees! Drag them down! Tear them to pieces!" The huge statesman-level Dem-monster pauses to have its way with a nearby supporter. "And you didn´t see that!" The crude beast howls, " because you´re smart!"

"We´re smart! We´re ALL smart!" the pack bays in reply.

I can’t disagree with the sentiments presented in this article, but it is very poorly written. What is happening to sentence structure and grammar?

One one the gems that occasionally sneaks out of Hollywood (With Honors):

Simon Wilder: You asked the question, sir, now let me answer it. The beauty of the Constitution is that it can always be changed. The beauty of the Constitution is that it makes no set law other than faith in the wisdom of ordinary people to govern themselves.

Professor Pitkannan: Faith in the wisdom of the people is exactly what makes the Constitution incomplete and crude.

Simon Wilder: Crude? No, sir. Our "founding parents" were pompous, white, middle-aged farmers, but they were also great men. Because they knew one thing that all great men should know: that they didn´t know everything. Sure, they´d make mistakes, but they made sure to leave a way to correct them. The president is not an "elected king," no matter how many bombs he can drop. Because the "crude" Constitution doesn´t trust him. He´s just a bum, okay Mr. Pitkannan? He´s just a bum

No one can consider themselves educated if they have not read the Bible, and I mean read it, not just parts of it and listened to preachers, as so much of our language and culture sprang from it.

The Trump administration may take action to cut federal funding to Planned Parenthood as a result of pressure from congressional Republicans and anti-abortion lobbyists. Opponents of abortion have launched an all-out campaign urging the administration to bring back Reagan-era abortion restrictions on federal family planning dollars that would target Planned Parenthood. The regulations would ban organizations that receive family planning dollars under the Title X Family Planning Program, which funds organizations providing services like birth control to low-income women and men, from promoting abortion or referring patients for abortions. Former President Reagan first issued the regulations, which Democrats describe as

I have to say that I am delighted to have been cited in the lawsuit filed the nonprofit organization Protect Our Parks against the transfer of public park land to the private group that will build, own, and run the Obama Presidential Center, intended for 19 acres of prime lakefront land in Chicago. As I noted yesterday: The complaint cites an "institutional bait and switch" because the original plan was for a federal entity to take possession of the land and build an Obama Presidential Library, which would be publicly owned and controlled. That was the bait used to obtain priceless

Conrad Black’s erudite biography of Donald J. Trump is different from the usual in mediis rebus accounts of first-year presidents. He avoids the Bob Woodward fly-on-the-wall unattributed anecdote, and “they say” gossip mongering. Nor is the book a rush-to-publish product from former insiders of the Trump campaign or administration. Instead, Black, a prolific and insightful historian, adopts the annalistic method in carefully tracing Trump’s earliest years in business through his various commercial misadventures, financial recoveries, and sometimes wild antics. Black’s aim is to illustrate how much of what Trump has done since announcing his presidential candidacy in summer 2015 is

Under John Brennan, the CIA operated as an opposition research outfit for the Hillary Clinton campaign. It appears from leaked news stories in the British press that Brennan’s oafish spying on Trump began around April 2016, right after Trump’s biggest primary victories. As it became urgently clear to Brennan that Trump was going to face off against Hillary, Brennan turned to “intelligence partners” in Europe for dirt on Trump. But they didn’t have any, save some pretty skimpy material on “contacts” between Trump campaign officials and Russians. Whatever Brennan collected was so insubstantial that Robert Mueller
