AMSTERDAM -- Amnesty International gave former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick its Ambassador of Conscience Award on Saturday for his kneeling protest of racial injustice that launched a sports movement and might have cost him his job. (Snip) "Racialized oppression and dehumanization is woven into the very fabric of our nation -- the effects of which can be seen in the lawful lynching of black and brown people by the police, and the mass incarceration of black and brown lives in the prison industrial complex," Kaepernick said. I wonder if it was done in their infamous Red Light district? It starts right around the corner from the Rembrandt Museum. At the end of the long street was a neon sign that read (Real Effy, Effy) only in English, which I could post. I have pictures of it, but sadly only on Super 8 movie film.

Too bad we´re all so tired already of the worn-out America bashing from the sportstainment industry.

I well remember seeing that rather prominently located street in Amsterdam. “Ladies” displaying their “wares” in windows, red lights ablaze, in the daytime!

I also remember streets lined with masses of bulging garbage bags. There’d been a strike. For some time.

Our last stop on an eight week trip through Europe, capped with the worst flight home EVER on KLM.

I do not have a warm place in my heart for Amsterdam...

Kaperpickle had choices. We all do. Let me think about it.... Football and millions of dollars, fame and athletic achievement, or racism hatred and division.... For a self centered punk with no virtue or moral compass, it’s got to be racism. The magnificent suffering victim of the white man and the racist lynch mob NFL. Perfect place to get this award. Right next to legal brothels and 24 hour marijuana cafes. Do your thing bro. Stay there ok and don’t come back.

Starbucks´ day of racial-bias training for its baristas can´t come soon enough. With less than two weeks to go before the coffee chain closes stores nationwide to educate its nearly 175,000 workers on how not to discriminate against others, Starbucks (SBUX) this week found itself apologizing for doing just that. (Tweet) The apology on social media came after a customer at a Starbucks in La Cañada Flintridge, California, found the word "Beaner" -- a derogatory term for Mexicans -- printed on his coffee drink instead of "Pedro," his name. A friend of Pedro's who translated for him told CBS Los Angeles that his "friend was also sad"
