But what if Teddy didn´t want to be great?
Steyn Online, by Mark Steyn

Original Article

I had minimal expectations of Chappaquiddick The Movie, which opened despite the best efforts of the Kennedy family and their various retainers and enablers. I have always been revolted by the fact that Ted, after killing Mary Jo Kopechne, did not have the decency to do a John Profumo and retire from public life for the rest of his days - and I was even more revolted by the way Massachusetts voters did not have the decency to impose that choice upon him. But utter contempt for your protagonist doesn´t make for very interesting drama. So it is to the film's benefit that its director, writers and Jason Clarke in the lead role

Mr. Steyn expertly reviews both the movie, ´Chappaquiddick The Movie´, and the man who is at the center of the story - both of Mr. Steyn´s assessments are accurate and intriguing.

Greatness was never in Teddy. Practically everything he did in his political life was wrong or just flat out evil. He was a Domestic Enemy twenty years before Ubama. Where he is now there is a dearth of water, and always will be. Have fun in eternity, Sen. Kennedy. You well earned your baptism of fire. Now burn.

Spent several dinners sitting next to the female Kennedy clan at the Captain´s Table in Hyannis Port growing up - their job was obviously to keep a drunken Joan from making a scene. The real scene was the obvious cover up - shame on them all as if they had any shame.

If President Trump wants to shut down the critics of his performance this week in Helsinki and strengthen U.S. national security, he can do so with one bold move: Announce he is moving out most U.S. forces currently stationed in Germany and sending them to Poland. The Polish government recently presented Trump with a formal proposal to move U.S. troops from Stuttgart, Germany, to a new permanent U.S. military base in Poland. Trump should take up Warsaw on this offer. Moving U.S. troops to Poland would a bold, historic decision on par with Trump´s decision to move the U.S. Embassy

This week, Maria Butina was arrested for being an alleged spy for Russia. If you didn’t know her name, you sure will now given the Russiagate absurdity that’s engulfed the news media (via WaPo): The Russian woman arrested on charges of being a foreign agent had ties to Russian intelligence operatives and was in contact with them while in the United States, federal prosecutors said Wednesday. Maria Butina, 29, also had an ongoing relationship with a Republican operative, strictly for business purposes according to prosecutors, and offered another individual “sex in exchange for a position within a special interest organization.” In a new

The indictment of a dozen Russian spies explained, in great detail, the extent of their interference in the 2016 election. Americans learned about the depth and extent of the Russian operation to interfere. That the Russian activity altered the outcome of the election to "make Trump win" has become an article of faith for many who still cannot fathom how Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton. This will persist as a subject of speculation in book after book, for a long time. What will be of less concern to the same researchers and writers is the far greater impact of the

President Donald Trump clarified in a press conference that he meant to say in Helsinki that he saw no “reason why it wouldn’t” — rather than “it would” — be Russia that meddled in America’s 2016 elections, as discovered by U.S. intel and White House national security officials. And OK to that. Believe the man or not. Deem him guilty of misspeaking; deem him guilty of lying; deem him guilty of political pandering. Whatever; pick your pleasure. But either way — let’s move on, please. Not only do hardcore Trump supporters not care, but also, the more the critics shriek about it,

Liberals and the Democratic Party never know when to stop. Going too far with their complaints has been the folly that exposes their concerns as fever dreams. Opportunistic outrage is their drug, and like all addictions it takes over and ruins everything for them. The last week featured two monumental liberal benders, both about their favorite destroyer of universes, President Trump. The Democrats don’t even take their time any more to work themselves into a frenzy; they start with foam at the mouth, which doesn’t exactly engender confidence and trust. Before the word "resignation" became a euphemism for being fired, it connoted a sense of public integrity and personal honor. Attorney General Elliot Richardson and his deputy, William Ruckelshaus, showed both qualities when they resigned from the Nixon administration during the Saturday Night Massacre in 1973. Jimmy Carter’s secretary of state, Cyrus Vance, did likewise when he resigned during the Iran hostage crisis in 1980. Assuming Mike Pompeo and John Bolton still have their own senses intact, they, too, should resign following the epic disgrace of the U.S.-Russia summit inHelsinki on Monday. So should their senior staff. I don’t suggest

In the past few days, President Trump has given at least some Republicans reason to express displeasure over his relationship with Russia.
