But what if Teddy didn´t want to be great?
Steyn Online, by Mark Steyn

Original Article

Posted By:Tianne, 4/16/2018 9:26:21 PM

I had minimal expectations of Chappaquiddick The Movie, which opened despite the best efforts of the Kennedy family and their various retainers and enablers. I have always been revolted by the fact that Ted, after killing Mary Jo Kopechne, did not have the decency to do a John Profumo and retire from public life for the rest of his days - and I was even more revolted by the way Massachusetts voters did not have the decency to impose that choice upon him. But utter contempt for your protagonist doesn´t make for very interesting drama. So it is to the film's benefit that its director, writers and Jason Clarke in the lead role

Comments:
Mr. Steyn expertly reviews both the movie, ´Chappaquiddick The Movie´, and the man who is at the center of the story - both of Mr. Steyn´s assessments are accurate and intriguing.

Greatness was never in Teddy. Practically everything he did in his political life was wrong or just flat out evil. He was a Domestic Enemy twenty years before Ubama. Where he is now there is a dearth of water, and always will be. Have fun in eternity, Sen. Kennedy. You well earned your baptism of fire. Now burn.

Spent several dinners sitting next to the female Kennedy clan at the Captain´s Table in Hyannis Port growing up - their job was obviously to keep a drunken Joan from making a scene. The real scene was the obvious cover up - shame on them all as if they had any shame.

#4 - Of all the Kennedys and their spouses, Joan was the one I felt sorry for. She was obviously window-dressing for Ted who never intended to be a faithful or even mediocre husband. Why she didn´t divorce him sooner is a mystery.

For our non-American readers, I should explain that Mark Levin is one of the most successful radio hosts in the United States. In fact, a few days ago he was nominated for the National Radio Hall of Fame. I also want to re-emphasize what I said last week: I did not pick a fight with CRTV. They picked a fight with me - and two judges have now ruled that they lost, comprehensively. The day after the New York Supreme Court confirmed my victory over CRTV, Mark Levin took to his radio show and gave a leisurely retrospective of the stellar

And I´m sure she wasn´t the only one. In the USSR, Communist Cuba and other Socialist dictatorships, reporters frequently crossed the line from journalism to advocacy and then to personal involvement. The KGB had its honey traps, but usually didn´t need them. The media was happy to push their narratives. Just as it´s happy to push Iranian, Qatari and Hamas narratives today. But Politico´s take on this story would be very different if a Republican journalist had been carrying on an affair with, say, Pinochet. As Rutgers history professor David Greenberg notes in a 2013 New Republic article headlined “Agit-Prof,” Zinn’s famous book is “a pretty lousy piece of work.” Even so, it gets great reviews within a circle of Marxist academics such as Eric Foner, leftist rockers such as Rage Against the Machine, and actors such as Matt Damon, who in Good Will Hunting tells his psychiatrist that A People’s History will “knock you on

Bush passed away Tuesday at the age of 92 after she declined further medical treatment for her failing health, opting instead for “comfort care.” The kind words about Bush, often described as “everybody’s grandmother,” had no impact

James Comey is a really stupid individual. Considering the legal jeopardy he must know he’s already in and with no guarantee that any political party would be likely to pardon him in the future, he has taken a plunge of absolute arrogance and nailed his future to it. Too bad it’s nailed to the legal equivalent of Jello brand gelatin. He may also count on the American people forgetting some of the most pertinent aspects of his career—which fell from its heights like a 747 with no engines, no wings, and only mountains in every direction for miles. New York Times reporter Amy Chozick has a new book on Hillary Clinton and the 2016 election, and one anecdote in particular from it was getting attention on Friday. It's from election night, when Chozick writes in Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling that it finally became clear somebody had to break the news to Clinton that she was going to lose to Donald Trump. The task fell to "Robby Mook, the drained and deflated campaign manager," per an excerpt in the Times. And when he finally did so, Clinton "didn't seem all that surprised," writes Chozick.
