Anchorage: Still OK for anyone to use

Voters in Alaska’s capital city have settled — for the moment anyway — who can use which public bathroom. The answer: Anyone can use whichever one they feel most comfortable in. Anchorage voters (Pop: 300,000) have just defeated a measure to require people to use the restroom according to their biological birth gender. According to the Associated Press, this is the first American city to settle the issue this way. Anchorage thought it had addressed the modern toilet issue with a city ordinance allowing members of any gender to use any locker or restroom that they identified with. Transgender folks were

I encourage males to use the female restrooms and leave it in the same condition as most men´s rooms.

The women will immediately march in lock step to the halls of government to put an end to the transgender madness.

Generally, the mens rooms are far more pleasant and cleaner.

Mandate close door stalls and ban open urinals. Make all bathrooms genderless. Then watch water use skyrocket and the enviro crowd go ballistic.

If there is a third option, I will use the "family" restroom because there is only room for one toilet. Years ago I saw one that had a mini toilet for the kids along side the adult version.

On a frigid Sunday morning as a rookie reporter in New York City, I was assigned to cover the launch of what was billed as a major city offensive against its rampaging rat population. Officials estimated that the Big Apple probably had more rat residents than the 8.6 million human ones. Such certainty comes only with the knowledge that no one else is counting Who do you think gets the fastest municipal attention on rodent complaints? I followed city workers down the gardened median of posh Park Avenue, where high-rent payers had been complaining about numerous rodents scurrying across sidewalks

The government of Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May is launching a domestic and international program against plastic straws. The idea is to have them and other single-use items gone by 2042 when the prime minister turns 86. May said: Plastic waste is one of the greatest environmental challenges facing the world, which is why protecting the marine environment is central to our agenda at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Plastic is plastic anywhere. It doesn’t rust away, resists natural degrading. And plastic straws, believe it or not, are among the most ubiquitous of man-made items polluting the waters and

This seems a little weird, but then I’m not a smoker. State police and public safety officials in Massachusetts — and automobile insurance representatives nationally — are urging drivers to remain alert and extra careful today, April 20, especially in the late afternoon. It sounds like an urban myth. But a recent study by the American Medical Association on driving and the growing use of marijuana found a 12 percent increase in automobile accidents on April 20 (4/20), sometimes known as National Weed Day, and especially after 4:20 in the afternoon. In a speech one day during his long presidency, Barack Obama reminisced about his childhood, hearing the neighborhood call to prayer several times a day and eating food his mother prepared including dog. That was in Indonesia. Such a diet is culturally repulsive in a country whose citizens share their home, own foods and even beds with some 90 million dogs as pets and companions. Americans like Republicans running their states. A new tabulation of state-by-state job approval ratings for all 50 of the nation’s governors finds that the top 15 with the highest approvals are all GOP. During the White House reign of Barack Obama, American voters made a distinct turn to the GOP at both the federal and state levels. They took over not just both houses of Congress, but also nearly 1,000 seats in state legislatures and dozens of governors’ offices. The GOP now controls 33 of them and both legislative chambers in 26 of those states. Democrats now hold only 16

Amazing what some major tax reforms and tax cuts in paychecks will do to public opinion.
