‘Global warming’ claims a victim

I restrained myself from commenting on the suicide to protest global warming of “famed gay rights lawyer” David Buckel for the last two days because, quite frankly, my first reactions were inappropriate laughter at what must be regarded as a human tragedy. “What was the carbon footprint of dousing himself in flammables and releasing into the atmosphere all the carbon in a carbon-based life form?” was the first thought I had. But after all, this is a human being, so I hesitated to mock. After some reflection, I see that this is a tragedy the Greek sense of the word,

This is a farcical tragedy.
A sexually confused man dedicated to controlling the weather finally finds that there exists but one thing he can control.
His death.
Then he proceeds to make his death as meaningless as his life.

I don´t necessarily buy into the claim that this was truly a noble act of "global warming" protest. I suggest David Buckel may have lipsticked his personal demons -- he convinced himself for reasons known only to him it was time to go and used the global warming hoax as cover.

I mean, really... exit stage left in a puff of self-affected greasy dark smoke in protest against human-caused carbon emissions?

That´s not political protest; that´s gallows humor.

This type of unlicensed burn is illegal in New York and Buckel should fancy himself lucky. He could´ve been cited.

Two apparent concessions from Pyongyang are boosting the chances of success for President Trump’s initiative to strike a “deal” that we would de-nuclearize the Korean Peninsula and possibly even lure North Korea out of its status as a rogue nation, cut off from the outside world and shunning the norms of international relations.
