Hollywood stars, athletes driving away
viewers with political activism, poll finds

Washington Times, by Valerie Richardson

Actors and athletes increasingly using their forums for political activism are turning off viewers, according to a newly released poll. A McLaughlin & Associates/Media Research Center survey released Wednesday found that 44 percent were less likely to watch sports and entertainment shows “because they have become too political.” In addition, 75 percent said they watch sports and entertainment to escape from politics, and “do not want to be bombarded with partisan political messages.” The poll of 1,000 likely voters comes with television ratings plummeting in the last year for high-profile sports and entertainment

Gee what a surprise. s/o That´s all well and good, but I wish it impacted those filthy leftists where they really felt it. Until they are severely hurt financially nothing will change. Even then that´s probably doubtful.

I wonder how much was spent on this "study" I could have told you the result for free.
Remember the "old saying" shoemaker , stick to thy last.
Meaning, do what you do and do it well, don´t muck about with things you know nothing about or aren´t proficient at.

Really? Wow, I´m glad someone finally figured it out. I could have told you this years ago when I quit watching late night TV comedy. It turned from real comedy in the tradition of Johnny Carson to vile venomous left-wing tasteless hate jokes by all the jokesters that are on now. Musician and athletes lose me for good when they inject their politics into the show or sporting event. Take a knee for the National Anthem? Buh-bye, I am outta here. Make a left-wing rant at a $100+ per ticket music concert and I´m shredding your CDs and burning your bands Tshirts. You know who you are.

Being "in the money" this one pitfall never occurred to them. When, old, wrinkled, and unemployed, it might at last come back to hit them on the head.

I am so tired of being lectured to during almost every program on TV. Whether it´s gays, transgenders, Muslims, refugees, illegal immigrants spousal abuse, guns, animal rights, the "benefits" of marijuana a long diatribe will be given by at least one character while another is "shamed" into action or agreement.

A few of my old favorites are on the cusp right now. Old movies, reruns and streaming services are our refuge.

My wife and I used to go to almost every movie made, had Academy Awards parties, etc. Now we have not set foot in a theater in over a year, and we find that we don´t miss it. Don´t watch any of the awards shows or late night TV. And no NFL, starting with Kapernick.

I wasn´t polled (thank goodness! I hear it´s painful!)... but:
- I used to watch at least the opening monologue of Kimmel´s pretty regularly. Not so much any more.
- WHAT is the deal with Jim Carrey? I´ve been a fan since Fireman Frank, for cryin´ out loud! And now he fancies himself a left-wing "artist" - you know, with "art" you can hang on a wall?

You´d a-thunk they would´ve learned something from the Dixie Twits, but apparently some people are slow learners.

They´re free to spout... their fellow citizens are free to vote with their pocket books.

Last Man Standing, HGTV, cooking shows and old movies are the only things worth watching on TV. I haven´t been to a "new"movie in years. I am not the least bit interested in what comedians, talk show hosts, or celebrities have to say about anything. They´re a bunch of ejits.

Hard to believe it took a study to find out why we left shows and Sports events in droves. We are sick and tired of the LEFT and everything attached to it! Enough of the Commercials showing Two daddies or a mixed Race couple in Bed. Enough of the majority of new shows having at least one Gay person. We know it happens in real life, we don´t need it shoved into our TV viewing time. We want to be entertained, not be indoctrinated! As for Sports, I think many fans may never return. We were so disgusted by the kneeling of Black Athletes, and the way the League and Owners handled it, that we don´t feel like wasting our time watching people who have such a lack of respect for our Country!! I think it will take a lot of convincing from the offenders to bring us back.

But since LIE-berals are missing that part of the brain that processes logic, reason, and facts -- but have a very large capacity for understanding FEELINGS instead -- it´s easy to see how they would miss this (and will probably argue with this even now)!!!

HGTV is questionable these days.. their House Hunter shows regularly feature in your face same sex and mixed race couples.
99% of the ads on TV feature smart, savy Blacks, and if a caucasian happens to be in the ad, they´re always stupid and ignorant.

In its first stint, I was not a big fan of "Will and Grace." It was okay, but nothing I would go out of my way to watch on TV.

However, in its second stint, I am finding it fairly entertaining -- with one BIG exception. I am tired of all the jokes suggesting Mr. Trump and his voters hate Latinos, are all about money, etc., etc. -- you know, the usual Lib accusations against Republicans.

The last episode that aired crossed the line. It wasn´t just jokes about orange hair. (I see nothing wrong with those kind of jokes because Mr. Trump DOES have funny hair. And he knows it.) It essentially accused a big swath of America of being haters.

And that ain´t funny, McGee!

It´s hurting them financially in a big way already. They will keep the numbers secret but wait until the football season starts this year and you begin to see big discounts, empty seats and disappearing sponsors. I won´t see it because I will never watch again but it will be hard to hide when the season begins. As sponsors pay less money and gate receipts begin to hit rock bottom, the primadonnas will begin to complain about their incomes and not being able to afford a new Mercedes this year. They killed the Golden Goose but will continue to blame Donald Trump. By the time he spoke up I was already gone.

I watched Jimmy Kimmel almost every night for multi years, but no more. People like Jane Fonda, Sean Penn et al. were always off my list, no matter how talented, but a whole new group of "stars" who, because they live with the like minded, feel perfectly fine mouthing off politically, not on issues but just on how they hate Trump, have joined the pantheon of those whose films etc. I will not pay to see. ( I am not keen on Trump´s boorishness or his "Little Whomever" tweets but also feel that if he didn´t have that forum his administration´s accomplishments would never be known.) There is no balance, just vitriol from people who live with armed bodyguards and, like the Obama´s, build high walls around their residences. I also laugh at Biden excoriating Trump re: women when he is the oh so creepy Mr. Hands On over and over and forces his female FBI guard watch him swim nude each warm day, What bloody hypocrites!

I believe that the actors, musicians and athletes spout their garbage is that they live very insular lives and guard themselves so closely to avoid the lunatic stalking fans and invasive paparazzi. As such, they have no sense of the every day world. Other than a few, most are poorly educated if at all. Finally, one way to get headlines is to make horrible statements against Americans.

James Woods went there. Late Saturday night, patriotic actor James Woods asked anyone who attended Columbia University and recalled Obama as a student there to please respond by tweeting a picture of him at Columbia. Twitter erupted and the responses were hilarious. Barry Hussein Obama’s records are still sealed so we don’t know what his grades were like nor do we know the content of any papers he wrote. People who attended Columbia University at the same time as Obama do not recall seeing him or having any classes with him.

After starting an advertiser boycott of Fox News Channel host Laura Ingraham, gun-control activist David Hogg has set his sights on two new targets — iconic gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson and its capital backers. In a series of tweets Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Hogg sicced his 764,000 Twitter followers on five investment companies, singling out two most of all — Blackrock and Vanguard Group. “.@blackrock and @Vanguard_Group are two of the biggest investors in gun manufacturers; if you use them, feel free to let them know,” he tweeted with a winking emoji. In one follow-up tweet he used the hashtags #BoycottBlackrock and

President Donald Trump’s tax cuts will be anything but for about 1 million California taxpayers who will owe Uncle Sam more money a year from now. They’re the Californians who will lose a collective $12 billion because the new law caps a deduction they have been able to take for paying their state and local taxes, according to a new analysis by the Franchise Tax Board.

Washington - Dozens of Democratic U.S. Senators on Wednesday introduced a resolution calling for Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt to resign on allegations of ethics lapses. Those relate to the agency’s purchase of a $43,000 sound booth for his office and spending on travel and security. The resolution was signed by 39 senators in the 100-member Senate, which is controlled by Pruitt’s fellow Republicans. Although Republicans can defeat it, the resolution is symbolically important because it represents the most senators ever to call for a Cabinet member’s ouster in resolution, its sponsors said.

SAN DIEGO - Fayaz Nawabi has never met President Donald Trump. But he credits the president with convincing him to run for office. Nawabi, a 31-year-old candidate for San Diego City Council, supports almost everything that Trump opposes: He is pro-affordable housing, pro-environment, pro-immigrant and pro-refugee. That makes him part of the blue wave of new liberal candidates spurred to run by Trump´s election and policies. But Nawabi is also part of a notable subset: the blue Muslim wave. More than 90 American Muslims, nearly all of them Democrats, are running for public office across the country this year. Many

Starbucks is closing thousands of stores across the U.S. on the afternoon of May 29 to conduct "racial-bias education geared toward preventing discrimination in our stores," the company said in a statement. The coffee shop chain has been criticized and protested against after two black men were arrested last week at a Starbucks in Philadelphia, where they were quietly waiting to meet someone. Starbucks employees called 911 after one of the men, who had not yet purchased anything, asked to use the bathroom and then remained at the shop. Other customers recorded the arrest and protested that the men hadn´t
