Column: QBs cashing in _ except
for the unwelcome Kaepernick

Associated Press, by Paul Newberry

As free agency kicked off the start of a new football season, the NFL sent a clear message to anyone paying attention: Colin Kaepernick, you´re still not wanted. Probably not ever. Oh, and while we´re at it, it´s pretty clear the owners have every intention of clamping down on any other players who tries to carry on Kaepernick´s legacy. Rattled by another big dip in the television ratings and an increasing number of empty seats, the league seems determined to banish peaceful protest from the playing field. While it´s quite a stretch to say those trends are intimately related —

Awww, poor baby. This guy is feeling so sorry for the worthless racist Kaepernick. Kaepernick deserves every bit of the scorn and rejection he is receiving. He even infers that the drop in viewership was not related to the horrific behavior from those racists in the NFL. Amazing.

Contd. FTA: "Since Kaepernick is the one who got this whole thing started by having the audacity to silently kneel during the national anthem to protest racial injustice — the nerve of that guy! — his career could very well be over.

Never mind that he´s undoubtedly more talented than many of the quarterbacks who still have paying jobs."

Seriously? Kaepernick is more talented? I don´t know what that guy is smoking but he´s clearly deranged.

Also what owner will hire Kaepernick while he has an active lawsuit against the owners with a charge of collusion to keep him out of the league. AP presents a sob story in lieu of the facts.

What is really shocking is that all of the pure nonsense spouted by the reporter in this article is doubtless what he thinks and what his pals in the sports news community think and say to each other. Either that, or they are all too cowed by political correctness to tell the truth. Thanks to Leftists we are increasingly living in a dual universes, one of reality, the other the one imagined by the Left.

Kaepernick insulted NFL fans who paid to watch a football game, not a ill-conceived protest that had nothing to do with football.

In response, NFL fans ceased to buy tickets and refused to watch televised games.

For that, this writer finds Kaepernick to be a hero?

Protesters are free to rent a stadium or auditorium in which to stage their protests. See how many attendees they draw.

The protesters abused the fans, plain and simple.

Kaepernick - Bad distraction

Tebow - Good distraction.

Both are distractions in NFL eyes and they are gone.

I don´t agree with NFL ideas, but this is nothing about Kaepernick´ politics,. He is a disturbance to the game just as Tebow was.

Teams pay a lot of money for the QB position, 25-30 million per season for a starter and two back ups. Kirk Cousins just signed with the Vikings for 28 million per season, all guaranteed. It´s crazy. If Kaepernick was willing to sign for 4-5 million to be a back up he might have takers. He thinks he´s a starter. The guy already made 33 million off the NFL. I don´t know why the media keeps his name out there.

The reality of football is that there are many players graduating from college every years that are going to take your place. In the NFL, it is best to enjoy it when you have it, because when it is gone, that is it. Kaepernick is finished.

If the NFL would have sat on Kaepernick in the
beginning (nipping it in the bud) they would have been respected. They shied away from what Kaepernick was doing with the knee down for whatever reason. My guess is they didn´t want to upset the black community or BLM. Instead they upset ALL the fans which left their stadiums have empty and their ticket sales sliced in half. If they have a comeback it will not happen for a few years. They hurt country loving and God fearing fans.

It’s simple. Kaepernick will cost the teams and league more than he will earn them. He’s a bad investment with a tremendous feeling of entitlement, a Jesus complex, pointless anger and very little smarts. In short, a royal pain and a nut. And not only a nut but a nut who costs a fortune to support. Also, after reading the article I found myself wondering if there’s a whiter name than “Richard Sherman.” Oh. Possibly “Colin Kaepernik.” Or “Richard Sherman, Jr.”

Dear Associated Press: The objective is to play football and entertain the audience. That is the way to make money. Protests do not draw an audience, especially protests that insult the Flag, white people, and the President.

Why don´t you (AP) hold peaceful protests in your headquarters each week and devote your coverage to that?

The NFL is praying that we will accept Kaepernick as the sacrificial scapegoat, forget that not only did the black players disrespect the flag and the country but they clearly told the mostly white fans what they really thought of them. We are supposed to just come back, buy the outrageously priced tickets and snacks or sit by our TV sets for four hours a couple of days each week and watch their sponsors so the sponsors can pay the teams their millions. I´m not from New York but the best response I have is FUGGETABOUDIT. The NFL will die before the fans return because the Golden Goose has flown.

The most liberal appeals court in America could soon be getting a Republican makeover if President Trump and Senate GOP leaders are able to fill seven open seats with conservative picks. Standing in their way is a wall of Democrats hellbent on protecting the long-standing leftward lean of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The stakes are sky high because of the size, caseload and clout of the court.
