Like the old story about the kid who cried wolf, this constant anti-Trump drumming gets old after a while. In Aesop´s fable, the townspeople just tuned out the kid. Today, the negativity is so over the top that it becomes hysterical noise. The problem with negativity is that it can´t compete with good news, as we see in these examples: 1. U.S. Consumer Confidence Hits 14-Year High. According to

Its a real shame. The networks I grew up watching in the 1950s, that brought us some good programs, and news segments that were short, is now a wasteland of corrupt social culture and biased news.

Former FBI Director James Comey’s book “A Higher Loyalty” will be released Tuesday, but portions of the book have already stolen the headlines in the political world as excerpts leaked. The Washington Examiner reviewed a copy of Comey’s book on Sunday. Here are the top 11 nuggets and passages from “A Higher Loyalty”: Nobody sat at the opposite end of the table from the president because that would block the video screen and camera that allowed senior leaders to join from the road. They would appear on the screen in a Hollywood Squares setup, visible only from the waist up.

The top executive of a Southern California private charter airline says the Golden State’s hostile business environment propelled his company’s decision to relocate to Texas. “Not being viewed as an enemy, but being viewed as an asset is so refreshing,” said Alex Wilcox, Chief Executive Officer of JetSuite Inc., who, on Thursday, spoke to the Dallas Business Journal. He described the air carrier’s decision to move to North Texas this summer as a “welcome change.” He even shared a glaring example of one difference between California and business-friendly Texas. “I tried to start flying out of Santa Monica, California. The grassroots voters that fueled the extraordinary rise of House Speaker Paul Ryan spurned their erstwhile conservative hero for a new champion, President Trump, marking a generational shift in ownership and attitude of the Republican Party. A change in the philosophical predilections of the GOP has been blamed for this slow-rolling divorce, made official with Ryan’s announcement that he would step down as speaker and retire from Congress at year’s end after more than two decades in Washington. But irreconcilable ideological differences had little to do with it. The Republican base in the twilight of the Reagan era was hungering

As the war drums were being beaten for an attack on Syria in response to its apparent use of chlorine gas, I shared some of the fears of such critics as Tucker Carlson and Michael Savage – that we were being led into a possible war that could end up a quagmire. My greatest reservation was the possibility of toppling Assad and reaping another Libya or Iraq, with even worse enemies taking control. And for all the brutality of the Assad regime, it has prevented wholesale religious massacres in a multi-religion state. But so far, the strike on three targets in

The body count is staggering. In my 43 years as a journalist, armies of trained bloodhounds have been run out of newsrooms where I´ve worked, victims of layoffs, and buyouts, and battle fatigue. I´ve lost so many hundreds of colleagues, I can´t keep track of where they ended up. These were smart, curious reporters, photographers and editors who told stories that defined place and time and made us all know each other a little better. They covered the arts and the local sports teams. They bird-dogged city councils, courts, law enforcement, school districts and other agencies that spend our tax dollars, bearing

Former Vice President Dick Cheney called President Donald Trump to thank him for pardoning his former chief of staff, Scooter Libby. Bush left office, he declined to pardon Libby, despite commuting his prison sentence. Cheney was angered by Bush’s decision, telling the president that he had left a soldier on the battlefield in the wake of the partisan investigation of the leak of CIA operative Valarie Plame’s name publicly to the media. When Dick’s Sporting Goods said it would no longer sell modern sporting rifles at its Field & Stream stores following the Valentine’s Day shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school, one question was what would happen to the unsold firearms in its inventory. Typically a retailer may return unsold merchandise to the manufacturer. But in this case, Dick’s Sporting Goods has decided to destroy them. “We are in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change,” a spokeswoman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “We are destroying the firearms
