Hollywood director Terry Gilliam has lashed out at the #MeToo movement, calling it a ´mob rule´ and claiming some actresses´ ´did very well out of meeting with Harvey´. ´Harvey opened the door for a few people, a night with Harvey - that´s the price you pay,´ said the Monty Python member. ´Some people paid the price, other people suffered for it.´ While Gilliam, 77, called Harvey a ´monster´, he saved his harshest words for the more than 84 women who have accused the producer of sexual assault and harassment. ´It is a world of victims,´ Gilliam said. ´I think some people did very

I have always assumed that the casting couch was a way for young females of limited talent to manipulate powerful men to give them tons of money and fame.

Until proven otherwise, I am sticking with my view of the "transaction", consenting by both sides, too.

Snow continued to fall across southern Minnesota Sunday, stretching out an epic weather weekend that closed roads, led to an hourslong airport shutdown and turned the landscape into a winter wonderland — all in mid-April. In the Twin Cities, Saturday´s rare metro-area blizzard warning had eased into a winter weather advisory for Sunday, with 2 to 4 more inches of snow expected to fall through the day, according to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen. Saturday´s blizzard designation, called "historic" by the Weather Service, was the first for the metro area since 2005. (Snip) Across the metro, plows roared, snowblowers whirred

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan avoided criticizing former FBI director James Comey in an interview on Sunday. Asked whether Mr. Comey is a man of integrity, Mr. Ryan responded, “As far as I know.” “I’ve met him two or three times in two or three briefings,” the speaker said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I don’t really know the guy. I’m not trying to be evasive.” (Snip) Mr. Ryan said the last thing he wants to do is “join some food fight, some book-selling food fight. ‘RACIST + RAPIST’: On Founder’s Day at
U-Va., Jefferson’s statue is defaced

The words “RACIST + RAPIST” were painted on a statue of Thomas Jefferson at the University of Virginia on Friday, the day the school commemorates its founder each year. This year marks the 275th anniversary of his birth. Jefferson has become a fraught symbol as the university delves more deeply into its own complicated history, and as broader cultural battles play out nationally and locally over monuments and race. Jefferson — author of the Declaration of Independence, third U.S. president and founder of the public university — is believed to have had children with a woman who was enslaved on his plantation.

Police are looking for three men who beat up a security guard in Tallahassee last week after they were told a pool party had to come to an end. When the guard — who police said was not authorized to be patrolling the area — asked the rowdy party attendees in bathing suits to leave, three men brutally pounced on him. All it took was one punch to take down the guard, video shows. One attacker jumped on him, while the other two continued to pound him on the ground. It was unclear what the unidentified security guard´s injuries were. The party was held on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Aqua Palms Apartments, but it wasn't until Friday

Lynneke Burris, 30, of Prospect-Lefferts Garden, was arrested Thursday night for what police believe was a violent random attack on the 23-year-old high school English teacher in her Concourse Village apartment building about 1 a.m. Burris threw her in a headlock until she passed out, authorities said. When she came to, he raped her in the building’s elevator, took cash, her wallet and demanded her PIN, police said.

Amber Smith was identified as the call taker who allegedly flubbed the desperate call from 16-year-old Kyle Plush, as he was being crushed to death in his minivan. (Snip) On Tuesday, Plush used Siri on his iPhone to call 911 from his crushed position, however the call dropped once, and the second time he called back it was dispatcher Smith who answered.

Last month protests called ´Not in my backyard,´ blocked new homeless housing in Temple City and delayed it in Boyle Heights. The protests also killed a project in neighboring Orange County to relocate homeless people living on the streets into shelters. But now, a project has been approved that will pay people in the county to put up basic homes

And he’s barely doing any “legal work” for Trump, either, they claim. “[Reviews of the records] indicate that Cohen is in fact performing little to no legal work, and that zero e-mails were exchanged with President Trump,” according to the brief, filed in

WASHINGTON The Justice Department special counsel has evidence that Donald Trump’s personal lawyer and confidant, Michael Cohen, secretly made a late-summer trip to Prague during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Confirmation of the trip would lend credence to a retired British spy’s report that Cohen strategized there with a powerful Kremlin figure about Russian meddling in the U.S. election. It would also be one of the most significant developments thus far in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of whether the Trump campaign and the Kremlin worked together to help Trump win the White House.
