Ga. parents furious after 7-year-old, ‘the only white girl in her class,’ cast to play supremacist

A Georgia school district is investigating after a 7-year-old student, “the only white girl in her class,” according to her father, was cast to play a segregationist in a school play. In a video of the play, 7-year-old Anastasia Bertram, playing the part of a segregationist, yelled at a group of black children to “go away, you don’t belong here!” She then marched with a sign that read, “Go home,” on one side and “Cursed is the man who integrates” on the other, ABC-affiliated WSB-TV reported. Douglas County School District said it is investigating
|
Comments: The rich punchline is that the girl volunteered for the part after a black classmate proved unable to follow instructions or learn the lines.
Still, a play like this, with kids this age and with a near 100% black student body, does nothing but paint a target on the white kids´ backs. This is what private schools are for; the parents are derelict in their obligations to their daughter.

Oh, how I can identify with that. I was moved to St. Louis to live with my Step Mother about 1957. I was late to enroll, and the only school that had any space was an all black elementary school. To me, it was just another school. My foster parents where my galavanting dad had left me were a black family. I lived with them for almost three months! They were the most loving people I had known in my life up to that point.
But, my indoctrination into racism began in that all black school. I learned how to fight that year- and I mean really fight. My teacher would put a complex problem on the board (just math but, I had not learned how to work with fractions yet) and deliberately call me to the board to work it. When i couldn´t she would then call the very smart little black girl up to work it correctly- Wham! Then she would always say, "See children, the white boy can´t do simple math. We (meaning black folks) can." And naturally, my adventures with my classmates began. although I did not become a racist, I certainly learned how to identify racists.
Racism is as evil as torture or war or slavery. But, sometimes, people, regardless of color, simply can´t put it away.

Anyone know the race of the teacher in that 99% black classroom? It will matter when the parents complain.

The only real question I have here, is why on earth are 7 year olds acting out this play and being made to act the parts of segregationists??

It would be instructive if the little girl had a big sign around her neck that said, "Democrat"
I wouldn´t hold my breath though.

Tell the teacher if she changes to play so she could be the one White South African farmer, she would do it.

Unfortunately with today’s racially based political situation, which includes the indoctrination of very young children in the public schools, #1 has it exactly right, as the chips are stacked against that little girl big time, and it is not the first or second grade children’s fault.

Why were they allowed to have a segregated school before she arrived? Don´t they fine schools that don´t have the ´right numbers´?
Blacks scream about equality but that´s now what they want.

Snow continued to fall across southern Minnesota Sunday, stretching out an epic weather weekend that closed roads, led to an hourslong airport shutdown and turned the landscape into a winter wonderland — all in mid-April. In the Twin Cities, Saturday´s rare metro-area blizzard warning had eased into a winter weather advisory for Sunday, with 2 to 4 more inches of snow expected to fall through the day, according to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen. Saturday´s blizzard designation, called "historic" by the Weather Service, was the first for the metro area since 2005. (Snip) Across the metro, plows roared, snowblowers whirred

Asked whether Mr. Comey is a man of integrity, Mr. Ryan responded, “As far as I know.” “I’ve met him two or three times in two or three briefings,” the speaker said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I don’t really know the guy. The words “RACIST + RAPIST” were painted on a statue of Thomas Jefferson at the University of Virginia on Friday, the day the school commemorates its founder each year. This year marks the 275th anniversary of his birth. Jefferson has become a fraught symbol as the university delves more deeply into its own complicated history, and as broader cultural battles play out nationally and locally over monuments and race. Jefferson — author of the Declaration of Independence, third U.S. president and founder of the public university — is believed to have had children with a woman who was enslaved on his plantation.

Police are looking for three men who beat up a security guard in Tallahassee last week after they were told a pool party had to come to an end. When the guard — who police said was not authorized to be patrolling the area — asked the rowdy party attendees in bathing suits to leave, three men brutally pounced on him. All it took was one punch to take down the guard, video shows. One attacker jumped on him, while the other two continued to pound him on the ground. It was unclear what the unidentified security guard´s injuries were. The party was held on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Aqua Palms Apartments, but it wasn't until Friday

When she came to, he raped her in the building’s elevator, took cash, her wallet and demanded her PIN, police said.

City officials in Los Angles want to help pay homeowners with extra space to put small accommodations in their backyards for homeless people. Los Angeles county has been facing a growing homeless population, and there are currently nearly 58,000 people without living shelter. Last month protests called ´Not in my backyard,´ blocked new homeless housing in Temple City and delayed it in Boyle Heights. The protests also killed a project in neighboring Orange County to relocate homeless people living on the streets into shelters. But now, a project has been approved that will pay people in the county to put up basic homes

He joined the Acreage Holdings Board, which cultivates, processes and dispenses marijuana in 11 states across the U.S. The move is a big shift for the former speaker who once said he was “unalterably opposed” to legal marijuana. The body count is staggering. In my 43 years as a journalist, armies of trained bloodhounds have been run out of newsrooms where I´ve worked, victims of layoffs, and buyouts, and battle fatigue. I´ve lost so many hundreds of colleagues, I can´t keep track of where they ended up. These were smart, curious reporters, photographers and editors who told stories that defined place and time and made us all know each other a little better. They covered the arts and the local sports teams. They bird-dogged city councils, courts, law enforcement, school districts and other agencies that spend our tax dollars, bearing

Cheney was angered by Bush’s decision, telling the president that he had left a soldier on the battlefield in the wake of the partisan investigation of the leak of CIA operative Valarie Plame’s name publicly to the media.
