It’s Time for Juan Williams to Go
American Thinker, by Peter Barry Chowka

Original Article

His double-talking defense of Democrats who embraced Louis Farrakhan, and of Farrakhan himself, is the last straw. For the past ten months that I have been reporting prolifically about the cable news wars and the Fox News Channel, readers who have posted comments to my articles have most often cited Juan Williams as the #1 Fox News personality whom they cannot stand. I am willing to cut any opinion meister a lot of slack, but the last straw for me came on Friday March 9, when Williams appeared live in-studio with Shannon Bream on her nightly program Fox News@Night. Note to Fox
I will not watch Williams. I will not watch Rivera. I will not watch Wallace. I see their face, I go somewhere else. They are disgusting.

When push comes to shove, Williams, Rivers and Wallace will always default to running interference for the Commucrats. Rivers at CPAC was bad enough, but I agree with the author that this blatant water-carrying by Williams for Farrakhan is the worst.

The whole lot of them need to go, and Shepard Smith, too.

Williams is so far in the tank for the democrats he consistently takes ridiculous positions. With regards the russians and donald trump he is a foaming at the mouth nutball, each and every time. Thank the Lord for the fast forward button and his nemesis jesse watters.

Williams should go if for no other reason than his firing from the WoPo years ago for sexual harassment. (Google it). Fox got rid of Bolling and O´Reilly for similar charges so why is Juan still there. Because he is black??

I agree that Shepard Smith should also go because of his obvious hate for Trump and using a so-called news program to spew his hate.

No one is going to go.. since the Murdoch kids are now in charge (especially the daughters in law) Fox is only going to become more "progessive" i.e. Commie.

We stopped watching The Five years ago specifically because of his presence. He is condescending, obnoxious, repeats every deomorat talking point. He talks over the other hosts while they are trying to make a point wagging a finger in their face.

I believe he is a good father and family man. However, I just can not stand to hear his voice.

We are not snowflakes, or we should avoid turning into them. Surely we can watch or read pundits/journalists/writers with whom we don´t agree without melting down.
I enjoy Juan Williams. His opinions are usually poorly thought out (or just the Dem talking points), but he´s not abrasive.

Williams seems a nice family man, but his politics are like fingernails scraping down my back. But not as swarthy as Shepard Smith. Why is it that NO RICH CONSERVATIVE has not put his money where his values are and start anther network. FOX is owned by UK non-conservatives, it beats watching the other networks but not by much. I understand fair and balance, but having a show revolve around Smith is off the mark. I watch only a few shows and The Five and Smith´s News Hour are not in the running.

I guess hoooWahn forgot that NPR fired him a few years back just for not toeing the house negro line. Did he think we´d enjoy his brand of racism on FOX? I can´t stand listening to this Louie Farrakhan fan- any more than I can stand someone lecturing me about how I must learn to be a moderate moonbeam.

I´m certain that he is instructed by the producer to offer an opposing view.
But he is not very good at that.
He appeared at my campus back around 1990, with the former police chief from Los Angeles - they were on a speaking tour together.
The police chief beat Juan like a rented mule.
I felt sorry for him.

Democrat Elite haven´t changed since the founding. They are bigoted selfish hateful control freaks. They only supported the Revolution because it gave them the chance to be free of British taxes and laws. Their early writings often dehumanizing various groups, including blacks and jews.

Democrats are not shy when it comes to prostelizing their views, and they hire people like Juan to give cover, where necessary. Farrakhan is black, so in the world they´ve created, only a black man can criticize or legitimize his own race.

In the past, their documented views inspired Marx, Lenin, Hitler, Geobbles, Castro, Che Guevara and other murderous tyrants. All spoke highly of their ´wisdom´. The death camps, eugenics, abortion, betrayl, all came from what is now described as Leftist and Progressives.

You keep wonderful company, Juan.

I´ve always thought Juan was playing a role. In ways he is not a garden-variety liberal. For example, he made a video with the Heritage Foundation a few years ago promoting school choice, an odd partner for a die-hard leftist. Fox wants contrasts, not just people of one mind. I am sure his job is to provide opposing opinions. He is not very good at it, and that may be because he is not sharp enough or because he doesn´t really believe it, especially at this time when Dems have gone cuckoo.

Just found this intesting interview with Juan´s Republican son (one of them) from a few years ago. He explains his father very well, and his role on Fox. https://www.yahoo.com/news/juan-williams--son-on-why-he-became-a-republican-040631869.html

I believe that if you step outside of politics, Juan is probably a really nice guy. But when it comes to politics, he merely spews the daily talking points from the DNC, which adds nothing of value to the conversation. But I also believe that it´s important that we know what the other side is thinking, and in that regard Juan is a useful tool, which justifies his being kept onboard. And I´d much rather have nice guy
Juan on than any of the other Rat mouthpieces out there.

I say let him stay. The more he talks, the more clear it becomes that the political left in this country is unhinged. They are quick to claim the moral high ground. But, it shifts like sand under their feet. In their world it was wrong for PDJT to say there was violence on both sides in Charlottesville. But, democrat party politicians associating with an avowed Muslim racist is just fine.

Fox News needs to keep their liberals on board. Any one with eyes and ears can see that both sides of an issue are usually represented and charges of ´extreme right wing bias´ are easily refuted. I just wish they could find more liberals able to make intelligent, well-reasoned, factual arguments to support their positions. There must be one somewhere who can make a point without twisting the truth, inflammatory insinuations, emotional sound bites or defending the indefensible.

So, until he/she shows up, thank God, Eugene Polley and Robert Adler for the mute button...

So I´m going to say that Fox should keep Juan. Jaun is not a hard core, bomb-throwing Leftist, nor does he have his own show. As a commentator he keeps the perspective of the Left in front of us which I think is important to be aware of and helps keep Fox fair and balanced. Shep on the other hand, is the one who should go. He has his own show and as such represents the face of Fox! This is not how I feel Fox News should be represented!

PLUS

totaly non informative (or informed)

Both on Sirius and Foxnews the sound of Juan will not be heard in my house/car. He has nothing to say as far as I am concerned. Only him, like they said jumped the shark or whatever.

Folks who dislike Williams, I fully understand that. I personally can hardly stand the guy. But, we also did not like Bob Beckel, Hannity´s old buddy Allan Colmes, and Tamara Holder, Shep Smith, too (ugh)- and let´s face it, every single time Rivera says something, you have to just shake your head at how utterly insane he is. The guy will contradict himself or go off topic 3 times in the same appearance Actually Rivera is the one who should go- he´s a disgrace) They are all uber-liberals almost off the charts crazy with liberal agenda. But, they serve us a good purpose, like this recent flap with Williams. Where are the sane liberals- the middle of the roaders? Notice Fox does not put them on and there are some who reject the Maxine Waters and Pelosi brand of Prog idiocy. Fox displays the worst of the left by using people like Juan Williams and Holder. Fox has very carefully engineered their line up of crazies, and it serves a great purpose- regular people do not think like Williams, et al. For Williams to come out defending the likes of Louis Farrakhan is really absurd in the extreme. There is NO defense of Farrakhan! Don´t you guys see that every time these ultra leftists get attention it only further marginalizes the left- making them seem ever more radical?

For me, Keep them all- Williams particularly. He is like an exaggerated clown in a tux. Fox brings them out on topics like this and displays their lunatic fringe views for all to see. Don´t you know the inner elites of the Democratic Party cringe every time Williams opens his mouth? They know what Fox is doing.

I´m sorry but Juan is a fraud in more ways than one. Down deep he doesn´t believe half the crap he spews but that´s what he´s there for and that´s why they pay him. Remember --- he was honest when he said "guys with beards on airplanes" scared him. NPR fired him for that! He won´t let that happen again as he´s unemployable anywhere else.

He needs to be the agent provocateur or there is no discussion and just a lot of head nodding in agreement. It´s planned that way! He´s the foil for the rest of the gang on The Five and he deliberately says nonsense to Sean, Laura, Jesse, Greg, KG, etc so they can have someone to jump on.

He´s carrying the lib mantle after that other liar Alan Colmes died.

When you view Fox (et al) as the swamp equivalent of pro wrestling it makes a bit more sense.

Williams is a ´heel´ ie clearly identified as someone it´s safe to boo and hiss at. His adherence to leftist dogma can be attributed to 1) old dog/new tricks phenomenon, 2) living in the swamp for too long, 3) fear of reprisals ie Uncle Tom accusations.

Ironically, his surfeit of airtime each and every day are a virtual guarantee that he lacks the hours to study, read, get his facts right and otherwise discover that his warmed-over 60s left-wing madness has resulted in disaster at every level of government and society, even devastating entire nations.

If it´s black, liberal, anti-gun, pro-muslim, pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQX or just plain stupid, Juan jumps on that bandwagon. He is predictable and a waste of time.

I wonder if it is not that "snowflakes" want to shut down J. Williams but they feel trepidation that so many uninformed citizens believe the nonsense he spouts.

Propaganda is a powerful tool used by some Fox personalities, as well as other American Pravda outlets.

I remember reading the statistics that Demonrats are very easily propagandized and that causes concern about the "views" spouted by the Left Liberal Progressive talking heads at Fox.

Juan proves that insane people can actually excel in today´s world. Why do I suggest that he´s insane? Because no sane person can spew his line bravo-sierra and still keep a straight face. Now I understand why he does what he does (money) but The Five is supposed to be a debate, you know, a conversation between people....the thing that bugs me the most about his shtick (not his views which continuously reinforce the fact that he´s clueless) is instead of him having a conversation with his fellow show people is that whenever he speaks he looks directly at the camera as if he´s lecturing to the audience. Lame.

I call Juan Williams ´the crash test dummy´ because he looks like one. When I hear Williams make a statement I know where he´s coming from. He hit his head once too often on the dashboard and steering wheel in the crash test car. Thus the bulging eyeballs when he gets checked on the Five with the truth. Juan William´s brain is wired completely backwards because he does display stupid stances that no one else would follow. I like Juan he´s a caricature of everything leftist. Look up dumb, communist, racist leftist in the dictionary and the first thing you see is the crash test dummy face of Juan Williams.

The last original thought Yawn Williams had was when he couldn´t decide whether he wanted a cherry or a grape Tootsie Pop when with his mother at the grocery store.

Yawn is the idiot that has been missing for years from a village--probably somewhere in California.

And while we´re critiquing Fox paid contributors, the Democrat organ grinder who is missing his side kick on a leash, is wishing that Richard Fowler would come home.

I agree with the opinions of so many others here. Fox News is losing many conservative viewers thanks to their continued employment of Williams, Shepard Smith, Wallace and Rivera. They are opening the door for CRTV to become the go-to channel for viewers like us. It will take some time, but it´s going to happen. When you have a new news channel already featuring Mark Steyn, Michelle Malkin and Mark Levin, you already have a winner.

Like the rest of you I utterly despise Williams. I was absolutely shocked to see that he gets paid $2M at Fox! That is in a link at the very end of the article. For those of you who didn´t see it the link is below. That is absolutely sickening and obscene.

I HATE when he  says ´lemme just say´ one more time before he launches into one of his insane, worthless diatribes. The fact that he defended Farrakhan was beyond outrageous.I didn´t see him on with Shannon Bream, but I did see on The Five when the yapping, obnoxious little RINO Perino shockingly defended Williams. I really didn´t need anything to cement my dislike for her. I still don´t understand how she rated an afternoon show of her own. She is wooden and horrific at reading the TelePrompter. Harris Faulkner should be given a two hour slot.

Juan Williams who is the black lap dog of the world, dumber than a rock, and so in the tank for Obama that he knee jerks when old Barack belches, Geraldo-the-not-in-the-closet demonRAT, and how about one of the worst: AB Stoddard the sour puss liberal so far left she looks more like Schumer with every passing day and is nothing more than a mean, contrived woman who should be home doing anything but pretending to think, Fox´s own Ratatouille Chris Wallace who is probably the worst—he makes the bottom of barrels look attractive, Shepherd (gag, choke), Marie Harp (barf), the sch wordsmith and hateful leftie, Jessica Tarlov with her many ticks that drive the world to repent at the sight of her, Eboni, the black chick who is a Juan Williams pretender (she´s truly awful)...and the list goes on. Is there any wonder why Fox is losing ground. Oh yes, not compared to the other cable puke content, but within these ranks still losing with a chipping away attack. Period.

I no longer watch anything with any of the list above included and there are at least 20 others including the airhead chick on Fox and Friends who was wearing a skirt this morning so short it really is what I´d term a crotch cover. All she can say is "Thank you for coming" to guests as she riffs through stacks of paper and pretends to be engaged and then throws in stupid questions that betray her ability for independent thought beyond children´s books. And her ability to conduct an interview is nothing less than embarrassing.

I´ve rediscovered radio and now tune in to check Fox and as often as not, tune out almost immediately.

I haven´t yet read through all the fine comments here, some I agree with and others I find too harsh.

First: let´s remember - all news shows are scripted, especially those with panels or a singular guest. Very little spontaneous talk (although the two offending named below seem to be the exception to the rule).

Second: Juan was hired to give the other side and if you´ve watched him closely since NPR fired him, you could see this discomfort he was having give the opposing view.

Lastly, I believe him to be a decent man with views I don´t always agree with. I´d much rather have him rather than say Marc Lamont Hill or that woman CNN drags out during primaries/elections who is especially loud, unreasonable and utterly offensive (her name is purged from memory).

A poster above references Juan´s "shtick" of staring at the camera. That´s annoying but even worse is his mugging to the camera, his faces of gob-smacked incomprehension and dismay, while Watters or Gutfeld is making an opposing, always valid, point. (The more valid, the more he makes faces.) I look away every time. It is one thing to say Williams´ role on the show is to be the passive-aggressive beta male, but the stupid faces are too childish and amateur given the salary he is pulling in.

I avoid "The Five" more and more, and I routinely mute Williams whenever he pops up elsewhere on Fox without warning. I live in a very blue state, so I don´t have to turn on the tv to subject myself to that kind of idiocy. Spare me such amusement. I encounter it without much effort as it is. I don´t mind countering views, but I prefer to hear them from someone with some originality and conviction, not some mountebank who will not even draw a line at Farrakhan.

Another poster brought up a very useful analogy between Williams´ performances and pro-wrestling, but therein lies my frustration. Is it so very wrong of me to hope that one day when I tune in, Jesse Watters will grab Juan the "heel" by his necktie, drag him across the set, and boot him out the door? We get the heel, but no payoff for enduring his routine. I can dream, can´t I?

Other than Lou Dobbs and Hannity, who else really hits back hard at the left?

And unfortunately, that´s ALL we have..

They have daily newspapers, national newspapers, magazines, TV cable news outlets like CNN, MSNBC, network news outlets like ABC, NBC, CBS, and they have PBS, NPR, C-Span......TV talk shows, tv shows, cable tv shows, corporations, judges, and don´t forget Hollyweird and New York and PUBLIC SKROOL Indoctrination centers!!!
Yahoo and Google on the internet....

We are so outnumbered by the left!

Can we get to work on THAT?

Williams should put flowers on Roger Ailes´s grave every single day. Ailes was the only one that would hire him after the "open minded" taxpayer funded, PC obsessed NPR dumped him.

Juan is not as odious as Shep. I haven´t watched Smith since he whined (with Rivera) for GW Bush to "do something" after Katrina.

Williams is harmless. I don´t watch The Five much anymore. Dana is insufferable. But, Williams is so dumb, and with those contorted facial reactions as others have said, he is really a clown.

Like others I watch Fox Business because most of national Fox is now unwatchable including sometimes Tucker. Sad to say Laura is a total waste. And I still love Hannity.

Score one for the power of fake news. We already know it was going on with the manufactured crisis over child separations of people caught breaking U.S. law by entering the country illegally. The policies were Democrat policies, yet Democrats and Jeb Bush-style #NeverTrumps were decrying it as a product of President Trump´s heartlessness, separating parents from children entering illegally as families, in order to keep the children out of their parents´ jail. Yet they were President Obama´s and President Bush´s and President Clinton´s policies, dating to 1997. The press pounded the drumbeat nonstop for days that President Trump was
