California to add recycled sewer
water to the state reservoirs

California’s water regulation agency approved new measures Tuesday that will allow recycled water – water that once ran through the sewers – to be added to the state’s reservoirs, The San Francisco Chronicle reported. The new rules are expected to be implemented by 2023. "This is a type of indirect potable use — it´s not treated recycle water that goes directly to someone´s house," said Miryam Barajas at the Water Board. "It´s highly treated." She says the new regulations could potentially affect all 36 of California’s reservoirs that serve as the main source of the state’s municipal drinking water. The

A much more palatable solution would be to allow the long-delayed proposed reservoirs to be completed for collecting and holding rain and snow runoff. Environmentalists and the wackos in the state´s legislature have blocked those water-accumulation plans, allowing valuable (and clean) water to pour into the Pacific Ocean.

Great. Sewer water in the reservoirs and urine and feces in the city streets. But the state and the governor are focused on giving cushy lives to illegal alien felons.

AS a previous municipal water master, yes, I would drink it. But! There is a caveat. this water has to be extremely supervised or it can lead to major problems. the cost of polishing sewer water is high due to the necessity of removing excess nitrogens (there are several classes of it) from urine and ultra tiny micro organisms that can be difficult to eradicate, like viruses. anything go wqrong along the complex line of treatment and you will have a pretty good public health crisis.

It seems quite odd to me that the primary cause of Californian´s water shortage is because of the "Free the Rivers Act" that dynamited hundreds of dams thus draining reservoirs all across the state in the interest of the "Green" movement. Now they have a severe lack of reserve of clean water- which the state was for decades completely secure from. And the leftists government leaders decide to recycle sewage water, which can contain some of the worts chemicals and biological agents known to man. It really might be cheaper to desalinate raw sea water than polish raw sewage.

One other point is the demand on perfect human control for this process, which is at sever criticism due to the display of how such human control perpetually fails in running highly technolicial systems supervised by government like nuclear reactors.

Leftists never learn, they never think their plans through and almost never follow up when their plans go off the rails expensive or complicated (Obamacare!). And the leftists themselves always seem to avoid being threatened in their own safety by their cockamaimie plans.

It works for astronauts. With feces and urine running freely in the streets, loaded with bugs from Mexico, I hardly think the residents will mind drinking treated sewage. It will probably be healthier than what they drink now.

We are already doing this all across the country. Here in Frederick County MD There are numerous sewage treatment plants that empty treated sewage directly into the Monocacy and Potomac rivers. Less than 50 miles downstream the main intakes for the Washington DC water reservoirs are located at Great Falls.

Personally I am more concerned about the 70 million gallons of Roundup sprayed on our farmland every year. Not that Roundup is a carcinogen, but that it is an estrogen mimic. What a luxury it is to have clean cool well water!

Like the post from the water expert it can be done but it´s very detailed to ´polish´ the sewer water. One thing goes awry and some pandemic could happen. While California spends billions for this endeavor why not spend money for an aqueduct to bring melted snow and rain waters from higher elevations. That would be a one time expense to build and the water would be better for the population but I guess that´s too easy. Whatever the wrong thing is to do you can bet California will do it. What does Jerry Brown think about it?

How many of those who promoted and voted for this are either directly from Mexico or just one or two generations derived from there?

SF gets all they want from Yosemite National Park. They went in and damned up what was a 2nd Yosemite Valley over 100 years ago.

I have a close family member who has worked in drinking water and waste water plant design and building for municipalities for over 30 years.

By the time the water exits the final stages of a modern waste treatment plant, it can be used to water fields, for certain. I many need some further finishing work before putting it into the drinking water systems.

But remember, drinking water starts as river water in many cities, and a lot is done to make it safe and clean, too. Final output of a modern waste treatment system can go right into the rivers.

In 1990 the state´s Water Resource Board conducted a study that showed California had enough water storage for 20 million people and the farmers who at that time were producing 20% of the world´s food. There were 36 reservoirs then and there are the same 36 today. That, my friends, is why California has droughts.

Tourists are flocking to New York City in record numbers — which is great for the local economy, but a bit of an embarrassment to the city officials who predicted that the mere fact that Donald Trump is president would keep foreigners away. NYC & Co., the city tourism-marketing agency, warned early last year that travelers, especially international ones, would view America negatively thanks to Trump’s rhetoric and “isolationism.” It even said the Big Apple would see a drop of 300,000 (later tweaked to 100,000) global tourists. Oops: The tide kept right on coming in. The city scored 13.1 million
