ONE PERSON is dead in Suffern, New York, after a tree collapsed on them during severe weather conditions, local reports have confirmed. The east coast of America is being pounded by the second nor’easter storm in the past week, with around 60 million people facing up to two feet of snow by Thursday as winter storms rage on. The storm is forecast to bring a foot and a half of snow to New England and the New York region by Thursday, with the heaviest snowfall predicted for midday Wednesday, and up to three inches of snow per hour through the night. Good Grief, what a ridiculous, hyperbolic headline. 60 million people and 1 dies, due to a tree falling on him? And that´s news? What a bunch of pansies we have become.

Up to 3 inches of snow? Oh My Gosh!

And what´s with this naming of snow storms? Who´s idea was that? It´s winter, it´s the northern hemisphere, it snows. Get over it.

It’s called “winter”.

And who taught this “journalist” to write? The first sentence set my teeth on edge - “one person” equals “them”?

It´s a UK organization, must give those folks a break on the use of English. The only surprise for me is that people live in that area for two and a half months of Summer and all the taxes they care to pay. I have a cousin who once moved his Texan wife to Boston due to a job change. You can guess how that worked out.

In early 1969 the Boston area was hit by three major snowstorms in six days. We did not fly into a panic, wring our hands and bemoan our fate. We sucked it up, got out the snow shovels and pressed on. I even went for my DMV driver´s license test between Storms #2 and 3. I learned the value of front wheel drive, and I think the examiner was ready to give me my permit just for making the ten miles from home to the registry.
These storms are nothing new, the problem is too many people have forsaken their survival instincts and forgotten the basic simple actions to prepare for snowstorms, hurricanes, or floods. Suck it up, buttercups. Your ancestors faced far worse with far less.

President Donald Trump slammed Republican Congressman Mark Sanford for not supporting his agenda, alluded to the lawmaker´s extra martial affair and endorsed his primary opponent - all with less than three hours before polls close in South Carolina. Sanford faces a tough primary challenge in Tuesday´s contest and a big part of the reason why is that he´s been a staunch critic of the president´s for the past three years. His biggest challenger, state Rep. Katie Arrington, has characterized Sanford as a disloyal Never-Trumper. Trump endorsed Arrington in his tweet Tuesday on the race. ´She is tough on crime and will continue our fight

President Donald Trump labeled North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un a ´worthy negotiator´ and a ´very smart negotiator´ after their historic meeting – and many Korea experts believe Kim got the better end of the bargain. Many experts parsing over the joint statement released by the two men following their meeting in Singapore have found the paper they inked lacking in specifics – and lacking explicit language that might lead to verifiable compliance by a regime that has flaunted similar agreements in the past. TODAY, the Daily Express asks every MP sitting at Westminster one simple question: whom do you serve? Our elected representatives in the House of Commons this afternoon begin a series of crunch votes on Theresa May’s Brexit plans. The Prime Minister’s EU (Withdrawal) Bill was supposed to be a straightforward piece of legislation cancelling Britain’s membership of the European bloc and smoothing the legal path towards a proud, independent future. Instead, the Bill has been emasculated beyond recognition by the ermine-clad inhabitants of the House of Lords. Unelected Remain-backing peers, many enjoying lavish

HUNDREDS of migrants could run out of food as they face four more days stranded in the Mediterranean Sea after Italy’s new interior minister Matteo Salvini refused to let them dock in any of the country’s harbours. The Lega leader, who only last week secured power, refused to allow the charity boat Aquarius to bring migrants to the country on Sunday. Malta also blocked the boat access to its shores, before Spain yesterday agreed to welcome the migrants. But in order to do so, coastguard authorities said migrants will need to disembark Aquarius and be transferred onto Italian government-run ships.

Why is Trump running so fast? What’s the rush? It can only mean that Trump takes seriously Satchel Paige’s observation, which runs as “Don’t look back. Something might be gaining on you.” That, plus he’s a New Yorker, which is to say he is bred, trained and conditioned to move fast in a town and in a business where runner-up gets no diploma. You have to win and as president, Trump’s been chalking up his wins at an impressive pace – but why the rush? Is it to fix things before it’s too late? Kim Jong-un was caught on camera looking baffled after Trump joked about looking ´nice and handsome and thin´ during the summit in Singapore. The President made the quip as the pair sat down with their aides for a working lunch at the Capella resort on Sentosa island. As the men approached the table Trump turned to waiting photographers and asked: ´Getting a good picture everybody? So we look nice and handsome and thin and perfect?´ The camera then pans around to Kim standing at the other side of the table with a blank look on his face. The North Korean leader blinks a

SINGAPORE - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he had a good relationship with Justin Trudeau just days after blasting the Canadian prime minister and other U.S. allies over trade. An escalating clash over trade between Washington and some of its closest global partners had loomed over Trump’s historic summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Tuesday. Trump had left a weekend Group of Seven summit in Canada early, announcing he was backing out of a joint communique and torpedoing what appeared to be a fragile consensus on the trade dispute between Washington and its main allies. 945301

DONALD Trump and Kim Jong-un’s historic summit ended today with the pair signing an agreement which saw the North Korean despot commit to complete denuclearisation. In what looks like a victory for American big-stick diplomacy Kim agreed to wind down his nuclear ambitions so long as the US promised not to attack his country. Photographs of the agreement signed by both leaders, who have now left Sentosa, reveal Kim Jong-un "reaffirmed his unwavering commitment" to denuclearisation adding the "world will see a major change". The document reads: “President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong un conducted a

On Monday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer ripped the Supreme Court’s decision to rule in favor of the “Use it or Lose it” voter registration process, saying it would “disenfranchise” voters. (Tweets) But as Dan McLaughlin pointed out in a comprehensive piece at National Review, the court’s narrow 5-4 decision in Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute only resolved a narrow point of federal statutory law: The Court was not asked to decide if states are allowed to purge names from the voter rolls. Federal law requires them to do so. That law, the National Voter Registration Act of 1993,

In the end, it wasn’t the Appalachian Trail that brought down Mark Sanford. It was President Donald Trump. The South Carolina congressman’s stunning defeat in Tuesday’s Republican primary effectively ended the turbulent two-decade career of a political icon who once harbored presidential aspirations. From his time as a congressman in the 1990s, to his eight-year governorship, to his unexpected House comeback that followed, Sanford had long established himself as a figure who cut against the grain — the rare politician who loved to break with his own party. Yet in taking on Trump, his friends and political allies say, he took it

President Trump got nothing more than "vague promises" from North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un that do not show a clear pathway to denuclearization as part of their deal Tuesday morning, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said.
