Hogging the Gun Control Limelight
Taki´s Magazine, by David Cole

Original Article

I am so sick of David Hogg, the pompadorable Parkland school shooting “survivor” and media-darling gun control activist. And I feel an intense need to publicly say just how sick I am of this kid, because, apparently, criticism of David Hogg has been added to the left’s ever-expanding list of “hate speech.” Seriously, I haven’t seen such a wall of protection around a teenager since that bubble boy from the ’70s. My problem with Hogg isn’t even about guns per se. I’m totally a Second Amendment advocate, but it’s never been my go-to issue. During my days as a GOP

David Hogg, who resembles a cartoon character, was far too obvious from the beginning. The best thing that could happen would be for all of us to stop talking about him and the other young bought-and-paid-for SJWs.

Yes David there´s much more concern that guns. Human history consists of multiple cycles of rise and fall. We tend to be taught that the dark ages were a unique interruption in a continuum of progress in civilization but it was just one of many cycles of decline preceding the emergence of the next rise. Wealth and comfort have a way of undermining the values of character, self-sacrifice, discipline and hard work required to build the wealth and comfort.
The cycle of the rise of the Western world from the Magna Carta to the age of enlightenment to the age of revolution culminating in the dominance of a constitutional representative republic has achieved unprecedented comfort and wealth even for those not living in the US through our benevolence.

Without a clue of how that all worked, how previous cycles of prosperity were destroyed by abandoning the values that created it, Mr. Hogg and his fellow progressive teenagers and millennials know better and have the answers to mankind’s quest for knowledge.

They see obvious things that are of concern and think they can make them go away without crushing consequences, without consulting the lessons of human civilization. It’s as ignorant as presuming Newton’s third law no longer applies.

YES I´m quite tired of him also. I am also willing to let him implode when his 15 minutes are up.
The next "thing" will happen and he´ll become yesterday news. Then we´ll see him scrambling to hang on to the moving spotlight of "fame". THAT´s when his true colors will show through.

I would recommend that Master Hogg familiarize himself with the story of Cindy Sheehan. She was once a media darling as well. But when her/his usefulness is gone the "news" folks will forget all about you.

Enjoy your 15 minutes. I know I am not.

Why nobody asks people like Hogg (and all the others on the Left), just exactly, where do they want America to go politically, the end zone, is beyond me. What form of government are they trying to achieve?

Instead, they keep playing the victim card and the media keeps asking stupid questions that gives them more air time to sell their views, propaganda and vitriol.

These people usually believe in no God and they certainly do not believe in God´s values. If there is no God, then my views are just a valid as theirs. So all they need to do, is be more vile and aggressive than good people, to their way.

But in the end, the place they want to take America is a very dark place, somewhere between socialism and tyranny, something they probably don´t think much about.

Wisdom is not only graceful, it is grace. I´m with #7 concerning #2. Beautiful. A pleasure to read and contemplate.

Most teens are too busy with family, school, recreation, and the opposite sex to get politically active. Speaking for myself, I would take an interest in radical leftist philosophy only after getting college--still have some of the important leftist books in my library--but soon got over it. It wouldn´t stand up to examination and to the lessons of life´s experience. Significantly, WFB (who left us ten years ago this past February 27: RIP, sir) made sense to me, so I went with him.

There is something very wrong with this picture and hope to be proven wrong. I think the kid provoked Cruz into the shooting that day, prepared himself to record other students in hopes of being recognized around the world as a reporter and hero of gun control. I would be as afraid of Hogg as Cruz. There is something premeditated about his story.

The lack of empathy in this generation is scary.

As an almost-lifelong Hoosier, I´m proud to watch Mike Pence live his life a heartbeat away from the presidency. I was taken aback when Trump picked him, but if they´d flipped the ticket, I would´ve gladly voted Pence/Trump. Over the past year, Pence has won me over by showing a more presidential comportment than the actual president. As far as I´m concerned, Pence will make a fine POTUS in 4-8 years. And a lot of liberals seem to agree that it´s a done deal, because they can´t stop shrieking about how awful he is. We saw it at the Winter Olympics,

TAMPA — A veteran circus acrobat fell to his death Saturday during what he told fans was a new routine, one he was performing for the first time. "After so much work and training and staging, our straps duo act is finally in the show tonight. It’s time to go for it," Yann Arnaud, who has been with Cirque du Soleil for 15 years, wrote Saturday on Instagram. But whether it’s the first time or the hundredth time, whether they fall from great heights or lesser ones, whether it’s concrete down below or a safety net, the risk is all the same,

Investigators have determined that Pepin Academies executive director Craig Butz was at fault in the Sept. 23 boating accident that took his life. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigators said the crash was caused by Butz through "operator inexperience and inattention," according to a Jan. 16 accident report. Alcohol was also a contributing factor, the report said, as Butz’s blood-alcohol level was 0.156, which is almost twice the level at which Florida law presumes a driver is impaired. Butz and his family were staying at a house on Clearwater Beach the weekend of the accident, the report said. At about 4:30

Some students at Kennesaw State University outside Atlanta have filed a lawsuit against the university, and for a very good reason. They are members of the Young Americans for Freedom, and they allege they’re the victims of discriminatory treatment by the administration. The facts aren’t complicated. The group invited Katie Pavlich to visit the campus and speak, a reasonable choice given her editorship of TownHall, the right-leaning news site. But Pavlich’s profile promised to spark controversy and, hence, the need for more security. So the administration added an extra $320 in costs for the event and billed the students. YAF was

Johns Hopkins University wants to form its own police department with armed, sworn police officers to patrol its university and hospital campuses. The University already has its own security personnel, approximately 1,000 strong. Even so, last Fall there were 16 gunpoint robberies around its main campus in Baltimore. Thus, the Baltimore delegation to the state general assembly will propose legislation to enable Hopkins to have its own police department. The plan has the support of Baltimore’s police chief and its mayor. Activists and some local politicians are wary of the idea, though. So, apparently is the Washington Post. Reporters Ian Duncan and

Sixteen years ago, David Horowitz and the Freedom Center unveiled the Academic Bill of Rights to protect intellectual diversity on college campuses. But now the same indoctrination and intolerance urgently demand that the Freedom Center step in to protect K-12 students from political abuse. The ugly scenes from the student walkout haunt our screens as the classroom organizers of the left work to turn students into the latest anti-American protest movement after Black Lives Matter and Antifa. Since the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, the most extraordinary things keep happening. A surge of protests forces Florida’s first small steps on gun control in 22 years. Students by the thousands stage walkouts at high schools nationwide to keep gun safety in the public mind. Momentum gathers for a huge demonstration Saturday in Washington to force action from Congress. And now arises the chance — with long odds, but a chance nonetheless — of getting a proposed amendment onto November’s ballot that would allow Floridians to place a ban on assault-style rifles in the state Constitution.

Where they do not spring from simple malignancy, critics’ arguments that Trump used Russian intervention to win the election are mostly an excuse to avoid the plain truth that Hillary Clinton deservedly lost because she was an awful candidate. She was able to avoid a catastrophic face plant however thanks to the helping hand of one special man, her husband, President Donald Trump. He already had his arm around Melania when she tripped, and afterwards the couple were both seen holding one another as they boarded the helicopter. It was one of the rare times the two have displayed public affection over the past few months.
