Congressmen like Mark Sanford who sleep
in their offices? ´It´s almost nasty,´ critics say

Congressmen who sleep in their D.C. offices — including Republicans from South Carolina — are under fire once again from Democrats irked over where they put their heads at night. The bunking habit, they contend, is both an abuse of taxpayer funds and, as one Mississippi Democrat termed it, "almost nasty." A letter from more than two dozen members of the Congressional Black Caucus, including South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn, is asking for an ethics review into the "legality and propriety" of members using their offices as overnight apartments. U.S. Reps. Mark Sanford, R-Mount Pleasant; Trey Gowdy, R-Spartanburg; and Jeff Duncan, R-Laurens, are

Where were these “sainted CBC” when one of their own was chasing skirts? The solution for this is for the Congressional members and senators remain in their districts and conduct their business via video conference.

Having to maintain two residences - one in your home state and another in DC is ridiculous. The states should own the houses for their Senators and Congressmen.

For example: A state could own a condo complex complete with security control and meeting rooms. The state could run a limo service for their state reps.

That way it becomes more viable for the non-wealthy who would like to serve one term and then go back to their previous job. Our leaders would be less embedded in DC and more connected with the needs of their state. When my company sends me out of town to do work for them they pay for where I stay.

And of course repeal the 17th amendment and have the Senators appointed by the state´s legislature as was the initial design. The end result of the 17th amendment was to give the MSM a large influence over who gets elected Senator.

It´s a good thing there´s not a SINGLE problem in this country that the CBC has to worry about. I guess their idol, okenyan, solved everything important.

I wonder what the Congressional White Caucus thinks about this?

Take one of the numerous vacant buildings in DC and convert it into a dorm, with a working kitchen and lounge downstairs. Communal bathroom. Women on one floor, men on the other. Problem solved.

They might even get more work done if they all have to live together.

An anagram of dormitory is "dirty room," and it might be argued that an office that is both worked in and lived in might be dirtier, at least before regular clean up, which is what all civilized people do anyway. There´s nothing wrong with a no frills lifestyle. Simplicity.

But why all the fuss? Rents as well as crime rates in the federal district are high, and congressmen neither make a great deal of money nor can afford extra security. A congressional office building would have to be one of the most secure places on the planet. No rent for a serving congressman. Then Uber to Reagan Airport for the commercial flight back home to South Carolina. I can see no reason to criticize Rep. Sanford. If that´s what he wants, who´s going to try to stop him?

Why should the liberal and socialist Democrat congressional black caucus give a crap if Republican members of congress snooze the night away in their offices, as that is no skin of the teeth of congressional black caucus members. Nobody else cares, but then again the congressional black caucus may be able to make a political issue out of their "concern" to a percentage of their very low information voting constituencies.

During the deadliest shooting in modern American history, first responders inside and in the vicinity of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas faced a slew of radio communication issues. Metropolitan Police officers were unable to communicate directly with EMS, with their only line of communication being a peripheral police radio channel, all while dispatchers were fielding a surge of reports. Inside the hotel hallways, ´thick walls´ of the hotel caused radio service to cut in-and-out, and it was very difficult for officers to communicate with the main command post located within the hotel. Brexit rebels Boris Johnson and David Davis clashed last night over claims they discussed a ‘joint Cabinet walk-out stunt’ that could have brought down Theresa May. Allies of Mr Johnson said Mr Davis suggested that they should announce they were leaving the Government over Brexit in a co-ordinated double act – but the former Foreign Secretary declined. But sources close to Mr Davis said it was Mr Johnson who put forward the idea, which the former Brexit Secretary then declined. The conflicting accounts came after Mr Davis resigned dramatically at midnight last Sunday, followed by Mr Johnson 15 hours later.

The indictment Friday of 12 Russian military officers for the election hacks against the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign lends a surprising new detail to the 2016 election interference timeline: The Kremlin’s hackers apparently still maintained a foothold in the DNC’s network four months after the Democrats announced that they’d locked the intruders out. Until today, the story of the DNC hack ended promptly on June 14, 2016, when the Democrats went public with the intrusion in the pages of the Washington Post, and Crowdstrike, the security firm hired to respond to the breach, published a detailed technical account. Americans are encouraged to embrace diversity and be culturally sensitive to those who have flouted our laws and invaded our nation. Meanwhile, illegal aliens arriving in America have no such requirement. Instead, trespassing tribes relocate, and when they do, rather than assimilate, they transfer habits and activities indigenous to the countries from whence they migrated. Thus, Americans suffer from illnesses that are easily traceable to third-world bathroom habits (TWBH) and lack of hygiene in the developing world. His repeated, arrogant insistence that he had done nothing wrong despite tons of evidence to the contrary convinced me he deserved immediate firing — if not the firing squad. Gradually, though, anger gave way to amazement as Strzok grew increasingly combative and condescending. Given his predicament, the sneering and smirking were stupid, and yet he persisted. Who is this jerk, I wondered, and how in the hell did he get to be a big shot at the FBI? And why are taxpayers still paying for the privilege of

The new details in the case came in a hearing for 26-year-old Yoni Aguilar, who along with 34-year-old Israel Palomino is charged with two counts each of capital murder in the slayings.
