California’s Defiance Exposes a
House (and Senate) Divided

American Greatness, by Michael Walsh

Original Article

Despite the passing of President Trump’s DACA deadline this week, with no action by Congress and even less notice from the media, California’s slow-motion revolt against the federal government continues apace. What began with the acceptance of lifestyle crimes such as marijuana smoking in violation of federal drug laws has turned into an all-out rejection of the nation’s immigration laws, followed by unilateral action by states and cities to declare themselves “sanctuaries” for illegal aliens. As we learned in 1861-65, state nullification of federal laws is not compatible with a federal system; “a house divided against itself cannot stand,” as

Comments:
This “revolt” against the federal government is not by the 5+ million registered Republicans, and heaven knows how many of the (growing) millions who now register Decline to State. The Democrats have more registrations than the Republicans; they do not have even a simple majority. The kicker in the legislature: The redistricting that occurred - approved by both parties - a few years ago. Did not work out as Republican lawmakers had hoped; instead the Dems got the edge.

FTA:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Wednesday will inform a meeting of the California Peace Officers in Sacramento that the feds went to court late Tuesday night to invalidate three California state laws that inhibit federal immigration officers from doing their jobs. According to the Los Angeles Times: “The laws make it a crime for business owners to voluntarily help federal agents find and detain undocumented workers, prohibit local law enforcement from alerting immigration agents when detainees are released from custody, and create a state inspection program for federal immigration detention centers.” Other states with similar “sanctuary” laws are likely to come under the gun as well.

Not just California...

The civil was analogy is flat out wrong, and states actually have an obligation to resist activities by the Federal government that are not specifically given authority by the Constitution. Sadly most states don´t care about things like that.
While a discussion could be had about pot law, giving legal protection to drug smugglers (90% of CA´s pot harvest goes out of state) is a violation of the Constitution, as is interfering with the constitutionally required job of securing our borders by the feds.

This entire argument raised by Becerra and Gov.Moonbeam is frivolous in its entirety. READ the CONSTITUTION. Immigration law and enforcement is 100% the province of the Congress and the Feds. During the reign of the Negro Tyrant the courts ruled that NON enforcement by the Feds of the law trumped(no pun)legitamite efforts of Arizona texas, etc. to enforce it and they were forced to stand down. The remaining legal good people of California should rise up against the tyrrany of their state´s misuse of tax payer funds. OBEY the Law you Communist Sons of Bit**es.

Department of Homeland Security officials on Friday flatly denied a widely reported allegation that border authorities forcibly separated a breastfeeding baby from her mother while she was awaiting prosecution for entering the country illegally. “We do not separate babies from adults,” a DHS official told reporters during a background briefing. “It’s a bright line.” CNN first reported that an illegal immigrant from Honduras claimed federal authorities took her daughter while she breastfed the child at an immigration detention center in McAllen, Texas, on Tuesday. One of the interesting aspects of the IG report is the documented use of personal email by participants within the FBI “small group” Mid-Year-Exam (MYE) team. [pg 424] One of those documented examples involves FBI Agent Peter Strzok downloading the content of the sealed Anthony Weiner Indictment, October 29, 2016, to his personal email address. Unauthorized extraction of a ‘sealed SDNY indictment‘, and transmission to a non-secure system, is a felony. (From summary pg vii) We found that Strzok used his personal email accounts for official government business on several occasions, including forwarding an

Obama Presidential Center to cost

The state of Illinois has approved $224 million to pay for street and transportation projects in Chicago´s South Side neighborhood around the Obama Presidential Center site, $199 million of which will fall directly on the shoulders of Illinois taxpayers. Gov. Bruce Rauner signed into law the legislature´s budget on June 4, which included $174 million for road work in and around Jackson Park — where the 235-foot-tall building would be located — and another $50 million to renovate an above-ground rail stop two miles away. “Bringing the Obama Presidential Center to Chicago took leadership and vision, and we are gratified that our

Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz said it was “obnoxious to our Constitution” to put former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort behind bars prior to a trial. “He has never been convicted of anything. He is as innocent as you and I,” Dershowitz said in an interview on MSNBC on Friday. “And the idea of locking somebody up before a trial is so obnoxious to our Constitution that every civil libertarian should be up in arms. SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Tiger Woods needs a reality check. “Absolutely,’’ he said Friday at the U.S. Open when asked if he’s convinced he can win another major championship, 10 years after winning his last. The reporter’s follow-up question: Why? “Have you seen the way I’ve been swinging?’’ Woods replied with a toothy smile. Yes, Tiger, and we’ve seen the way you’ve been putting. Absolutely he’ll win another major, at the age of 42, with his 155-foot yacht looking far more impressive than his golf game this week? It sounded more like delusion than confidence. Once among the world’s finest putters, Tiger now ranks among the

From the dust comes the life, a breath from God that allows man to breathe. From man comes the rib of womanhood. Thus begins a story known by all, whose ending is known only by God. In between is the stuff of life, from the first patriarch to the last father and son. In between is the man I know and love, whose love is unconditional; whose conditions I have broken without breaking his confidence in me; whose limits I have tested without him limiting his tolerance of me; whose pain I have caused without him deliberately hurting me; whose

Comey mocked Trump’s appearance—commenting on his “orange skin” and the bags under his eyes—and compared the president to a mob boss. You wonder why Fox News is Number One in cable? It´s because CNN, MSNBC, NBC and the rest are so relentlessly negative about Donald Trump they force people to watch Fox to find out the truth about the growing economy or the historically low unemployment rates for blacks. Take this week´s Singapore Summit. No matter what President Trump accomplished in Singapore in his face-to-face meeting with North Korea´s Kim Jong Un, for Joe, Mika and their fellow foreign policy experts in the media, it was not enough. Or it was too much. Or Trump was naive or stupid. Or he gave away too much. Or he didn't ask "Little Rocket Man"
