´A trade war has no winners´: Europe

The European Union has promised to put tariffs on exports to the US including peanut butter, orange juice and bourbon if President Trump goes ahead with plans to put charges on steel imports. It comes after Trump fired off the first salvos of a trade war by laying out plans to impose tariffs on goods heading for the US, including from the country´s closest allies. The president has long railed against what he deems unfair trade practices by China and others, and last week declared that his government would levy penalties of 25 per cent on imported steel and 10 per cent

Rich coming from the EuroWeenies. Go to Europe sometime and notice how you can´t find a cheap Chinese knife or gadget anywhere, so that you must buy an expensive Victorinox "Swiss Army" knife, etc.
In Germany they were so sick of Corona taking beer sales away from German beer manufacturers that they taxed it into non-existence. Now Germans can only have it when they visit abroad.

Level the playing field...

They have to respond that way. We are being used by all the EEC countries too! This is the opening salvo in a new negotiating era. ´Fair Trade´ and Free Trade are two different things. It can´t be all one way.

Gary Cohn wanted Goldman Sachs to negotiate our Foreign Trade Policy. This has been their area in the past three decades or so, and they have taken a healthy slice for compensation at the expense of the average American. He´ll be back with them soon!

Peanut butter, orange juice and arguably bourbon, are not exactly critical to our national security. The steel and aluminum industries however, are very critical.

We can´t fight a war without steel and aluminum, we could deal with lower sales of PB, OJ and bourbon fairly well, thanks.

My bet is that Chinese PB, OJ and bourbon is pretty horrific.

A mammoth relocation of Anglo Australians out of Sydney´s western suburbs in favour of a growing ethnic population could have catastrophic future implications, according to experts. Census statistics revealed low-income migrants flocked to affordable housing areas, while white Australians made up the majority of families who had moved away. Two-thirds of the 266,000 arrivals in Sydney´s west in the five years leading to 2016 were not born in Australia and did not have Anglo heritage, The Weekend Australian reported. You wonder why Fox News is Number One in cable? It´s because CNN, MSNBC, NBC and the rest are so relentlessly negative about Donald Trump they force people to watch Fox to find out the truth about the growing economy or the historically low unemployment rates for blacks.
