We Banned Assault Weapons

Gun Control: Maybe they are too young to know, or have faulty memories, but whatever the reason, all those pushing for a ban on "assault weapons" in the wake of the Florida school shooting ignore the fact that the last time the country imposed such a ban it failed to make a measurable difference. Gun control advocates were ecstatic when President Trump appeared to support a ban on "semi-automatic assault weapons." The White House later issued a statement that he still opposes a ban. Nevertheless, Democrats have already introduced two bills that would outlaw the sale of weapons like the AR-15, based

The careers of most long-term politicians are already in jeopardy over past non-performance and RINO tendencies. This is all they need to be evicted from their cushy jobs. I don´t intend to vote for any of them unless they have spotless conservative records and I intend to keep my "assault weapons" indefinitely. The idiots who can´t even name them properly are in charge of our right to own them? I don´t think so.

Assault weapons have been banned since 1934. Google it. A semi auto military style looking plastic stock fake asssult weapon does not make it an assault weapon. It’s like putting a fiberglass Rolls Royce body on a VW chassis. It’s not a Rolls. It’s a VW that looks like a Rolls.

Anyone old enough to remember the idiot liberals´ war on "Saturday Night Specials?"
Those were "hot" handguns used in the commission of murders and heists in inner-cities, like Chicago. Problem was that "cheap" handguns discriminated against poor peoples´ access to exercise of their Second Amendment rights, the court ruled, and it never went anywhere. Today´s leftist tyrant attack is on "assault" weapons, whatever that means.

There are millions of Americans who have been reduced to quivering gobs of emotion on almost any headline from the propaganda machine of mass media. They can´t have a reasonable discussion on immigration, politics or guns. TOTAL brainwashing. Black or white on issues and zero interest in learning anything or recognizing reality.

It is kind of surreal to go from normal conversation to a demonic spewing of ´ no one needs an AR-15 to hunt deer or for any other purpose. ´ End of story. If you ask why exactly you get the same reply. OK, then which guns would be ´allowed?´ Any gun can be deadly and many things kill more people every year. Are we going to do Prohibition all over again?

There is NO middle ground, None. They hate anyone who has a gun of any sort and it is only a matter of time till they take it away, ´for your own good.´ Keep trying to talk sense into them or wait for them to be robbed or scared, that usually creates a sudden awakening, but while you wait for them to catch a glimpse of reality, never vote for a democrat anywhere and find and fund any non RINO if possible.

#2, if you are serious. Smith and Wesson makes some good versions, as do Ruger, stick with the original internal design, called "direct impingement", rather than the Ruger ´gas piston´ design which uses a lot of non-standard parts.

Rugers are robust and reliable, superb warranty.

Avoid the carbine handguard length if you are over 45, the front sight is too close for us oldsters. The mid-length handguard version carbine (16" barrel) are a good compromise, what Ruger uses.

Most today have eliminated the top handle, have a flat top intended to add a red dot or scope for sighting, much easier for older eyes. The USMC no longer teaches iron sights, recruits start with ACOG scopes.
If your budget is flush, the Trijicon ACOG 4x32 scope is USMC issue, VERY robust, but expensive, highest quality. The US Army uses a military version of the Aimpoint Comp M2(M4/M5), with a several year battery life, left on all the time, and EXTREMELY rugged, and expensive.

If you want to stick to basics, get a Ruger AR-556 ($550-650) and stick with iron sights initially. Upgrade to an ACOG 4x32 scope with Chevron reticle night illuminated without batteries for about $1100, or an Aimpoint Comp M4 or M5 no magnification red dot for around $850. For the budget minded, a Bushnell TRS-25 high rise is about $100 for a simple red dot sight. In optics, you get what you pay for, although the Bushnell is quite servicable, just not "soldier-proof".

The leftist-organized wave of school walkouts on March 14 to protest gun violence is a classic example of the way protests are categorized by our news and entertainment media. 1. Liberal protests are authentic cries from the grass roots; conservative protests are "AstroTurf." How homegrown were these liberal walkouts? They were organized weeks ago by the Women´s March on Washington leftists. Liberal parents forced school administrators to knuckle under and allow the walkouts without punishment. They were supported by passionate media coverage and media conglomerates like Viacom, which dedicated 17 minutes of airtime to show solidarity. So, was this organized political activism?

Cold War 2.0? To anyone with any sense, it´s now painfully obvious that Russian strongman Vladimir Putin isn´t merely a pest, but a menace. His government´s recent nerve gas attacks on former Russian citizens in Britain and threats over Syria underscore a growing threat. For years, Democrats in the U.S. have refused to take the old USSR or Putin and the "New Russia" seriously. From the late Sen. Ted Kennedy´s treasonous overture to the former Soviet Union to help undercut and defeat Ronald Reagan, to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton´s inane "reset button," to President Obama signaling he would be

It´s being heralded as a referendum on Trump and a bellwether for Democrats prospects in the fall midterm elections. What has barely been mentioned over the past few weeks, however, is the fact that Lamb ran as a something of a poster boy for the

Russia Scandal: A House Intelligence Committee report says investigators found no evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to meddle in the presidential election. It´s time for Special Counsel Robert Mueller to say whether he´s found anything, either. The report, issued by Republicans on the committee, doesn´t deny that Russians were trying to meddle in the November 2016 elections, but that the Trump campaign had nothing to do with it. "We found no evidence of collusion," said Rep. Mike Conaway, the Texas Republican who headed up the Russia investigation. "We found perhaps some bad judgment, inappropriate meetings. Shake-Up: The long-rumored departure of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson should come as no surprise. He and President Trump didn´t see eye-to-eye on many issues. What´s surprising is that Tillerson didn´t quit, but was fired. The reason: Trump is moving fast on foreign policy, and didn´t think Tillerson could keep up. Tillerson was rumored to be headed out the door last summer, and then again in November. As the rumors had it, he was fed up with the White House chaos, and in particular had strong differences with Trump on how to proceed with both Iran and North Korea. Former Exxon CEO

First there was the casual sexism: the reason white women didn’t back her when she ran for president, Hillary Clinton believes, is “a sort of ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should.” Have you noticed that her sneering always seems to take the same form?
