BRUSSELS is gearing up for a bitter trade war with US and has pledged to fight fire with fire if Washington carries out its threat to introduce import barriers to steel and aluminium products from Europe. European Union trade officials have warned such a move would result in counter-tarrifs being slapped on exports from the US within days. They said iconic US products ranging from Harley-Davidson motorcycles to Jack Daniels whiskey would be targeted in any retaliatory strikes and that preparations for such a confrontation were in full swing. Analysts said the choice of products was significant as Harley-Davidson is based

This is a war they´ve already lost. Sanctions on items like Harleys and whiskey are merely symbolic of the failure of the EU in the first place. You can be sure that Mr. Trump has already figured that part out.

This is the one thing that Bernie Sanders was in complete agreement with Trump on when he campaigned. This is what Herbert Hoover glommed on to. Tariffs. Free trade is the best thing. And history is still there. Like the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act that Hoover enacted.

Let the socialists scramble. Trump knows how to stir the nest. The EU economy is in bad trouble with the U.S. dropping their tax rates. The EU can complain all they want, but to be competitive, they will have to abandon the everything is free, spend other people´s mentality. I can´t help but notice that the "compassionate" socialists get all the power and money, and the rest get a lot poorer under their reigns.

IRELAND has hit out at Brussels in an unexpected security broadside, with a number of MEPs declaring “we do NOT support the EU Army”. Dublin and Brussels have grown closer during the past few months with Brexit negotiations siding the Republic of Ireland against their nearest neighbour. But this week a group of Irish MEPs have warned Brussels not to expect unquestioning loyalty from Dublin - especially on the subject of security. The warning was issued in a joint report by MEPs from Fine Gael, Ireland’s ruling government party, called ‘Ireland and the EU: Defending Our Common European Home’. The report said: “We

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday Moscow had already decided on retaliatory measures, which she said Britain would be informed of in the near future. The 2-1 decision by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is a major victory for business and financial services industry groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. They had argued that the rule was too burdensome, and could make providing retirement advice too costly, with particular harm to lower-income people.
