Romney’s Really Changed
His Tune On Trump

Daily Caller, by Robert Donachie

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/20/2018 9:54:28 AM

GOP Utah Senate candidate Mitt Romney is changing his tune on President Donald Trump from where he was one year ago. Trump endorsed Romney late Monday evening, giving the former failed presidential candidate “full support and endorsement.” Romney responded almost immediately, thanking the president for his kind words and for backing him the upcoming election. “Thank you Mr. President for the support. I hope that over the course of the campaign I also earn the support and endorsement of the people of Utah,” Romney tweeted late Monday evening. Romney’s statement Monday is strikingly different from ones he has previously made

Comments:
Sorry, I´m not buying it. He´s only trying to bring Trump voters on board. Just wait until he is elected and sides with the hacks Collins, Graham, et al against anything Trump wants. Romney insults our intelligence.

I expect nothing more from a RINO. When its election time he´s one of us but the day after he is against us and working with the anti-Democratic party.

Yes, let me conceal my knife Mr President (before I stab you in the back).

I have, of course, Mitch McTurtles blessing (collaboration) and his incredible amount of funding for all of this.

I am such an angel, aren´t I? Yes, of course.

Romney is the perfect replacement for Orin Hatch. Both are back stabbers. No wonder Orin admires Romney so much. Trump will get nothing for his endorsement.

I´m a bit more confident of both Trump and Romney than the rest of the commenters here. They are both businessmen who understand that it´s better to get part of something than all of nothing. Romney tore into Trump in 2016, and in revenge Trump got Romney to grovel semi-publicly for Secretary of State and then didn´t give it to him. It is one of the very few instances where I thought Trump was exceptionally subtle. I think they will both work to see where they have common ground. It will sometimes be rough and probably never smooth. But I think they will start from right now and not from the past. I´m cynical enough to believe in their mutual abilities.

Donald Trump is (to put it mildly) rough around the edges, but he is a mensch. Romney is smooth, but I just don´t trust him. I think he´s a self-interested snake. I hope poster #5 is correct. Since it is unlikely Romney would lose his bid for the senate seat, it made no sense for President Trump to oppose him. Our President has enough GOPe enemies as it is.

Real concern is whether PDT has enough months left in 2018 to have the Senate approve his nominees for cabinet positions and the federal courts. At moment, an alleged Repub Senator from Colorado, Gardiner, is holding 4 nominees for Ass’t AG positions hostage because he doesn’t like having Sessions enforce federal marijuana laws. What happens if we add another GOPe like Romney to Senate or the Dems reclaim majority, with Schumer replacing McConnell?

Like every other liberal republican of Rockefeller-George Romney-George Bush-W Bush-JebBush (Whitman, Weld, McConnell, Ridge, et alia), principles are for little people who don´t understand how Washington works. Changing one´s tune is no big deal, because that class of mediocre liberal republicans is only concerned with running things, staying in power, and catering to the interests f globalists and Wall Street.

Romney hasn´t changed. He is as fake as he was yesterday and tomorrow.

One thing Utah is not, is left leaning. Mitt will have to behave as a conservative, just as he had to behave a liberal in MA. Mitt has no deep personal convictions about anything and loves to be loved. That´s why he´s such a unreliable ally. He stands no hope of becoming president due to his age and after his disastrous run against a very vulnerable Obama.

IMO those posters who have urged calm are right. This is big league politics, the Donald and Mitt are doing a foot dance and will eventually reach a rough working accommodation, as the former has with Ryan and McConnell.

And no conservative savior is going to come riding out of the woodwork at this point.

It´s not an ideal situation but it´s gonna have to work. The two men are stuck with each other.
