Best president: JFK tops,
then Reagan, Obama

Washington Examiner, by Paul Bedard

Original Article

The nation’s adoration of moderate former Democratic President John F. Kennedy continues, making him the most popular recent president, according to a new survey. A new University of Virginia Center for Politics-Reuters/Ipsos survey, released in advance of President´s Day, found on a 1 to 10 rating that Kennedy had the best, followed by Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama. And while another recent poll found that Reagan was the past president most wanted to return to the White House, it is now Obama at the top. A previous version of this story inaccurately quoted the poll. In the survey, President Trump

Comments:
Really? Kennedy topped Reagan? That´s just hogwash. I really don´t take any of these polls seriously, especially if Reuters was involved. I did have to chuckle that Obama bested the old horn dog Clinton. That has to really irk him since it has been reported that the Clintons do not like the Obamas. . It´s been a bad week for Bill Clinton regarding popularity. I´m certainly not shedding any tears for him.

It would be interesting to see the demographics of their sampling....

I would doubt very strongly that the over 50 folks would not rate BJ Clinton or Nobama very highly.

The young adults under 40 of today only know what Andrew Wilkow calls "the history of now" and have no real appreciation for what came before them.

In 50 years when no one is alive who lived during Camelot JFK´s ranking will fall precipitously. In a hundred years the same will be true of Obama. Reagan will always stay near the top.

At the time! He was exceptionally popular. I was 17- Kennedy was killed just two days after my birthday. I was in school listening to some clam of a teacher droning on and on and suddenly, the PA system came on and it was not an announcement- just the mike being held to a TV set in the Principal´s office. Walter Cronkite´s voice, "President Kennedy is dead...." Faces of disbelief- people thought it was a prank, then the reality set in and the pandemonium- hysteria like I had never seen. All the girls bawling, the teacher fell down to her knees sobbing...it was just awful. For some reason, I was not emotional over it- I thought it was no big deal (teen hubris?) I said something stupid, like, "Hey that´s why we have a Vice President!" and people were walking out of the class room, school was dismissed...we went home. I got home and Mother was bawling, my older sister trying to console her. You would have thought the cat had died or something. It was very bizarre to me and I remember it like it was yesterday.. But, that´s how much people actually loved that guy. Only later we found out what a cad and idiot he was. But, at the time, we were all very sheltered from all that.

Especially interesting since JFK actually lost the election. If not for a few thousand stolen votes by the Daley Machine in Chicago and a few thousand more by Archie Parr in Duval county Texas, Nixon would have rightfully ´won´ the election.

Ike, who hated Nixon, was offended by the thievery. He offered to send in investigators and contest the votes. But, Nixon said he could not put the country through the mess.

JFK was president for 2 yrs and 10 months. During his short tenure, we had the Bay of Pigs fiasco, then came within minutes of an all out nuclear war with the Soviet Union. JFK was no Reagan. BTW, Gerald Ford was president for 2 yrs and 5 months and is not regarded at all. JFK was an invention of the 60´s Fake News Media.

Well, they did NOT ask ME!
It just so happens that my Birthday is November 8th.
The Best birthday present of my life (at that time) was in 1980, when Ronaldus Maximus was elected.
This was tied for Best in 2016 when the Trumpster was elected.

I say Trump and Reagan TIED for #1, Ike very high up, GWB was good, GHWB was decent, Jimmah was an Embarrassment, Bubba was a Thief, and ´Zero´ was a TRAITOR.

#5, I also remember the high regard for JFK.
(I was a little guy at the time, but I remember.)
However, I later understood that he made the trip to Dallas to shore up his popularity there.
Perhaps he was not as popular as the Media portrayed him.

But, it was a different time. The Media seemed Patriotic, that is, the anti-American rot (that became apparent to me during Johnson´s mismanagement of the Vietnam war) in 1968 was not yet conspicuous in the evening news shows.

My Dad (WWII Marine Sergeant) always said that "LBJ murdered his way into the White House."

Insanity. JFK did very, very little beyond the massive, foolish disaster at Bay of Pig, which he then salvaged something by blocking nuclear missiles in Cuba.
Reagan was a massive economic improvement and a breath of real fresh air, with the Enemedia slamming him mercilessly every single day.

Obama.....worst president ever, in all ways, including criminality.

If he hadn´t been assassinated, most people would be asking "Kennedy who?"

All of my life, one couldn´t criticize or rationally look at Saint Kennedy´s administration. Additionally, his entire extended family has been making bank on the assassination, being the perpetually aggrieved victims. The assassination elevated a largely mediocre lack luster accomplishment free administration to sainthood.

And lets not forget......Half the US population wasn´t around to remember Jimmy Carter as president. So polls determining the best presidents is stupid at best,
