High school bans ‘outdated and racially
offensive’ national anthem from rallies

Washington Times, by Victor Morton

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/14/2018 9:24:56 AM

Student leaders at a high school in the San Francisco Bay Area have decided that the national anthem is racist and outdated and have banned it from school rallies. According to multiple area news outlets, the Associated Student Body at California High School in San Ramon made that decision based on a phrase in the rarely-played third verse. “It was brought to our attention that the national anthem’s third verse is outdated and racially offensive,” Ariyana Kermanizadeh wrote in an open letter. “We had nothing but good intentions by removing the song so that we could be fully inclusive to our student

Comments:
I am so very sick of the BS from the radical left who encourage ´inclusivity´ when they have no intention of that whatsoever. Naturally this occurred in San Francisco, the bastion of the America haters. Who is this Ariyana Kermanizadeh? Who are the individuals who put her up to this? Is she an illegal? At least there is huge pushback and not all from conservatives.

Didn´t we fight a civil war over secession? Since when can a high school secede?
No more Federal funds for this school.
What country do they live in?

Complete absurdity.

There would be controversy over any song chosen as the National Anthem. My Country ´Tis of Thee? God Bless America? America the Beautiful? Nope, nope, nope. Too much mention of God. Simply forbid the 3rd verse from being sung. That would mean that .00001% of the times the anthem is sung in a year the 3rd verse would have to remain unsung.

This confirms one more time that we should kick Kalifornia out of the Union. They don´t like the flag, the anthem, the laws and everything else. The only thing they like is our money.

If this school is getting any federal funds, pull them immediately. If the student´s families are being subsidized by WTP, pull their funds too.

If they can´t honor the country they live in, the taxpayers shouldn´t be forced to subsidize them.

Next question, how many of the student leaders are illegals?

This is nothing more than a cynical effort to eradicate our history piece by piece, same as removing "offensive" statutes and removing displays of the names of our founding fathers on church pews, and on and on. This madness has to stop, NOW!

Had to look it up. Never heard it before.

Evidently Francis Key was hacked off at escaped slaves who assisted the British during the War of 1812.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O´er the land of the free and the home of the brave

FTA "“We understand that this third verse is not included when the anthem is performed, but still, what does this tell us?” she said."

Well that third verse tells me no one can hide from difficult times or death. But that´s just my interpretation. No one knows what Key meant. But today political correctness demands any time, any where, by anyone if the word "slave" is mentioned it´s racist. The left continues to demand that certain words they don´t like be eliminated and change the meanings of other words to further their leftist ideology. Absolute nonsense.

San Ramon is a nice little town, too bad they´re not teaching critical thinking to their kids. They see the word "slave" and they think "black people". So the song is against hirelings and black people. Does that make sense? Could "slave" refer to the impressed British seamen on those attacking warships? In a well-run school, this would have been a teachable moment.

If they want to talk about slaves, lets talk about this - we who work in this country, work as slaves for the first 5 months of the year in order to have the fruits of our labor taken from us and our families and given to others who sit on their arses.

If that isn’t slavery, I don’t know what is.

What if just one student, teacher or parent stood up at a school function and began singing the National Anthem? Just one! What if two did it? Or ten? Would the police come and haul them away? Would the School expel the students connected to the event? And I want to know, if just one can say, "I feel uncomfortable because I hear the words of the national anthem", and these school morons rush to then ban the Anthem, what about the students who might say, "I feel uncomfortable not hearing the words of the National anthem?" who will rush to their defense?

These uneducated punks don´t even know the story behind our Anthem, yet spew prog/DemonRat talking points. The men mentioned who were not free were those kept on dungeon ships at sea that the stinking British allowed to fester with disease and starvation. That was the sole reason Francis Scott Key was out there in the first place, to negotiate their freedom.

The first slaves in America were WHITE. They were worth LESS than blacks brought over from Africa and elsewhere. Irish Catholics and confiscated children from London were worked to death in the Colonies because they were always FREE courtesy of The Crown. Blacks cost money.

Learn your history, punks.

I´d bet dollars to donuts that they haven´t been singing the 3rd verse before events anyway. Simple solution: ban the singing of the 3rd verse! Historical context: the slaves referred to were the impressed seaman on the British ships; the hirelings were the German mercenaries employed by the British Army. The impressing of American seamen was one of the causes of the War of 1812 during which the verses were composed. History is important, snowflakes.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called on Friday for a "conversation about what the right to bear arms means in the modern world," and questioned why Americans should have access to "military weapons." "I think it is time for us to have a conversation about what the right to bear arms means in the modern world," Rice told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. "I don’t understand why civilians need to have access to military weapons." "We wouldn’t, we wouldn’t say you can go out and buy a tank," she continued. "So I do think we need to have that conversation." Rice´s comments

A discussion among students at Oberlin High School in Oberlin, La., about a mathematical symbol led to a police investigation and a search of one of the student’s homes, according to the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office. On the afternoon of Feb. 20, detectives investigated a report of terroristic threats at the school, where they learned that a student had been completing a math problem that required drawing the square-root sign. Students in the group began commenting that the symbol, which represents a number that when multiplied by itself equals another number, looked like a gun.

The way Rush Limbaugh sees it, CNN has become so consumed by hatred of President Donald Trump that everyone at the network has full-on descended into madness. The conservative radio host began his Friday show by applauding Trump’s CPAC speech and saying once again that CNN’s town hall on the Parkland shooting was nothing but terrible, nasty, anti-gun mind control. After that, he turned his attention to a CNN piece published Thursday titled “Trump’s language on school shooter’s mental health could be harmful, experts say,” which asserts that Trump and NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch are not helping discussions about mental

A report released Friday claims four of Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel’s deputies waited outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School while the attack was occurring. On February 22 Breitbart News reported that one deputy resigned after it was learned that he was on scene but failed to control Nikolas Cruz. Sheriff Israel told ABC 13 that video shows the deputy, Scott Peterson, “arrive at the west side of Building 12” and “take a position” outside the school — but never go inside. The sheriff’s office moved to suspend Peterson, who resigned before the suspension could take place. Now CNN reports

Barack Obama posted a chilling message to his Twitter account Thursday to the teens marching and organizing for gun control. He told the youth fighting for gun control ‘we’ve been waiting for you’. The Gateway Pundit was the first publication to question the media’s agenda in only propping up students who push the anti-gun narrative. We took a lot of heat for it, but we stand by our reporting. CNN and other fake news media organizations refused to allow pro-gun students to voice their opinions. It was also revealed CNN scripted their Wednesday night anti-gun town hall. The left is

This strikes me as really pushing for any excuse to attack Trump for any reason whatsoever. CNN has a whole story devoted to shaming Trump for calling the Parkland shooter a “sicko” on the grounds that it’s stigmatizing to people with mental health problems who aren’t all mass shooters of children. From CNN: (Snip) And although Trump has said he wants to focus on mental health to stop school shootings, calling Cruz a “sicko” doesn’t help, those experts claim… “When it comes to mental health, language really matters. This is not about being politically correct. It’s about wanting to do

Two people who work to prepare food for students at New York University have lost their jobs for serving a meal featuring food and beverages believed to be stereotypically associated with black cuisine. The New York Times reports: On Tuesday, a dining hall at New York University advertised a special meal in honor of Black History Month. On the menu? Barbecue ribs, corn bread, collard greens, and two beverages with racist connotations: Kool-Aid and watermelon-flavored water. Nia Harris, a sophomore in N.Y.U.´s College of Arts & Science, sought an explanation from Weinstein Passport Dining Hall´s head cook.
