Three police officers now since the weekend; two in Ohio. I can hardly bear to hear such news. Families are devastated, and our brave men and women in uniform must try to "get through this" while doing their jobs. How often do we pray for them? Not often enough, I´m sure. I´m just sad and heartbroken.

You don´t often see an office at this rank onvolved in yhe dirty end of police work. Sorry it went bad, seems he still had the instinct to run towards the sound of guns.

Starbucks´ day of racial-bias training for its baristas can´t come soon enough. With less than two weeks to go before the coffee chain closes stores nationwide to educate its nearly 175,000 workers on how not to discriminate against others, Starbucks (SBUX) this week found itself apologizing for doing just that. (Tweet) The apology on social media came after a customer at a Starbucks in La Cañada Flintridge, California, found the word "Beaner" -- a derogatory term for Mexicans -- printed on his coffee drink instead of "Pedro," his name. A friend of Pedro's who translated for him told CBS Los Angeles that his "friend was also sad"

WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump on Thursday defended his use of the word "animals" to describe some immigrants who enter the country illegally, saying he would continue to use the term to refer to violent gang members in spite of a sharp rebuke from Democratic leaders. Answering a reporter´s question during a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, Trump said his comment a day earlier had clearly been directed at members of the MS-13 gang. The Big Idea: Tuesday was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day for Democratic moderates. The success of very liberal candidates in primaries across four states is causing a new bout of heartburn among party strategists in Washington, who worry about unelectable activists thwarting their drive for the House majority. But it also reflects a broader leftward lurch among Democrats across the country since President Trump took office. -- In Nebraska, a liberal social worker and political neophyte who built her campaign around “Medicare for All” scored a shocking upset in a Democratic primary to take on Rep. It took about five years or more for the Securities Exchange Commission to create a rule. They finally did so now we have a data set of about 225 public the traded companies.
