California Attorney General Xavier Becerra is threatening to sue if the Trump administration includes a question regarding citizenship on the 2020 census. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Becerra worries citizenship questions will dissuade some California residents from taking the census, thereby under-representing themselves and running the risk of a loss of federal funding for certain parts of the state. Becerra is part of a coalition of 19 attorneys general who fighting against inclusion of a citizenship. No surprise as the Democrats have been filing law suits against every action that President Trump has taken in office. Clearly the Democrat political agenda is so unpopular with most Americans that the Democrats cannot get it passed into law through the Congress, so they are out there seeking activist liberal Democrat federal judges to declare that the Democrat political agenda should be the considered the law.

California seems to believe it is a sovereign state (as in nation). If so, cut all fed funds and let them apply for foreign aid. Put them in line right behind the Norks.

If the census takes into consideration CITIZENSHIP, then California could easily loose electoral votes and house seats.

What possible basis for a suit exists? I know that Democrats think that everything they don´t like is unconstitutional (except for things they do like) but I see no cause. The census is clearly for the allocation of electoral votes which is clearly related to voters which is clearly related to citizenship. Seems essential.

What should happen is a Proposition be placed on the ballot that would allocate California´s Electoral College votes proportionally instead of winner-take-all.

The 53 EC districts would vote, and the person who wins that particular district would be allocated accordingly to that presidential candidate.

Currently about 10-14 would be allocated to Republicans, and I suspect a few more might swing GOP based on increased participation of those who think it just doesn´t matter, and they don´t vote since it will be allocated to the Democrat anyway (this is actual, real, disenfranchisement folks).

Larry Elder was telling the TV audience that there is no penalty if an illegal illegally votes in an election. That´s the way CA demonrat legislatures set up the law when they wrote automatic voter registration into their DMV law. In other words, don´t get between a demonrat and illegal voting because they wouldn´t get elected otherwise.
