Blue states vs. Washington: How

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has brought more than 100 actions against the Trump administration, starting just days after the Republican president was elected. The Democratic prosecutor began with statewide alerts on immigration and education policies sought by the White House, and he quickly expanded to lawsuits on energy policies, deportation and reproductive rights. (Snip) The leaders of the still-developing coalition, though, has already faced criticism of being merely partisan attackers — some with aspirations for the White House themselves. And their complaints of discrimination by the White House have been met with doubts that they

The problem for the liberal Democrats is that their political agenda is not popular across most of the country, they cannot get most of their political agenda hopes through the Congress, and President Trump won the election leaving their liberal Democrat champion Hillary Clinton out in the cold. So the Democrats have embarked in a mission of turning politics into lawfare against Trump and the Republicans by filing large numbers of civil cases in the federal courts as they scout out liberal activist federal judges to push the Democrat political agenda.

The omission has raised hackles in the Chinese community and caused concern among Malaysians of all faiths, who see it as yet another symptom of the country´s growing Islamic conservatism, driven by the government´s flirtation with hardline Islamist policies and a

WASHINGTON - Frigid iguanas in Florida. Snowball fights on North Carolina’s beaches. Recent winters have delivered a bitter chill to the Southeast, reinforcing attitudes among some that global warming is a fraud. But according to a scientific study published this month, the Southeast’s colder winter weather is part of an isolated trend, linked to a more wavy pattern in the jet stream that crosses North America. That dipping jet stream allows artic air to plunge into the Southeast. Scientists call this colder weather a “hole” in overall global warming, or a “warming hole.” “What we are looking at is an

Bode Miller made a bad joke on Wednesday night while calling the women´s giant slalom event on NBC. Plain and simple. The six-time Olympic medalist, clearly kidding, insinuated that a skier´s marriage was the cause of her recent slump. But because Miller´s sense of humor is as dryer than a martini and because people actively look for ways to get offended and because a few folks complaining on Twitter is apparently indicative of a national groundswell, the skier had to apologize for what was, again, just a flat, bad joke. President Trump’s legal team is citing a three-pillar argument to convince investigators, and the public, that President Trump shouldn’t sit down for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller. Mr. Mueller wants access to the president as part of an inquiry into suspected obstruction of justice in the firing of the special counsel’s longtime friend, FBI Director James B. Comey, in May. Here are the arguments against an interview. • The White House has given Mr. Mueller unprecedented access to White House documents and people. • There is no stated crime. •
