Here’s Equifax’s list of customer
data ‘accessed’ by hackers

New York Post, by Kevin Dugan

Original Article

The Equifax hack is getting more mysterious. The credit reporting bureau admitted that a far more extensive assortment of data was “accessed” by hackers last year than previously acknowledged — but insisted not all of that info on 145.5 million Americans was actually stolen, according to a Jan. 2 letter it sent to Sen. Elizabeth Warren. The company’s list of “accessed” data, obtained by The Post, includes: Passport numbers Social Security numbers first, last, and middle names and suffixes gender home addresses and phone numbers driver license numbers, including the date the license was issued and the state issuing them

Comments:
A credit reporting company? Maybe they´re one of the cover companies the FBI & CIA use. But we all trust the FBI.

It’s a list of the kinds of information - the “fields” - that could have been hacked, but one - Passports - contained no information.

Now, isn’t that comforting?

Otherwise everything they’d have gotten was extremely critical, very sensitive. Identity theft stuff and heaven knows what else...

The best way to combat data breaches like this is to freeze your credit. It costs $10 to unfreeze it (when you´re getting a loan), but it is worth it for the peace of mind.

I have always been very wary of these credit card companies. In fact, I have never checked my credit rating and have never been turned down when buying an expensive item. Wasn´t one of them severely hacked not long ago? You get a new card, they ding you. You cancel a card, they ding you. Does this make sense?

The last time Equifax said anything, they are now admitting here was a lie. How reassuring that ALL that was stolen was ALL personal ID information, credit card numbers and code number. But Equifax reassures that passport ID information was not stolen. Really? I suspect Equifax will be having a press release soon to admit this is not true as well.

Before Nikolas Cruz carried out his mass killing at a Florida high school this week, police responded to his home 39 times over a seven-year period, according to disturbing new documents. Details about the calls to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office — obtained through police records by CNN — were not immediately available and it was impossible to determine if all involved Cruz. But the nature of the emergencies to his Parkland home included “mentally ill person,” “child/elderly abuse,” “domestic disturbance” and “missing person,” KTLA reported. And a schoolmate, Brody Speno, told the network that cops were called to Cruz’s

What’s wrong with the Olympics isn’t limited to the rapturous reception accorded to Kim Yo-jong in Pyeongchang, South Korea. As Bethany Mandel pointed out here, it’s a disgrace that the sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un was fawned over by the international press and favorably compared to Vice President Mike Pence because he refused to play along with that evil regime’s charm offensive. It’s appalling that many are so willing to embrace those responsible for countless murders and torture just to take a swipe at President Trump. But the heart of the problem isn’t the obsession with Trump or

Police Commissioner James O’Neill said it would be “insanity” for the feds to force one state to recognize another’s lax gun laws. A bill making its way through Congress would make gun possession akin to a driver’s license — so one state’s looser regulations against concealed weapons would be protected in tougher anti-gun states, like New York. “I think it’s insanity,” O’Neill told CBS’s “60 Minutes” in an interview aired Sunday night. O’Neill said accidents and suicides — in addition to crime — could skyrocket with more out-of-state guns around town. “Right now, we have a good idea of who’s

An ISIS-loving Queens college student who planned terror attacks on Big Apple landmarks will spend almost two decades behind bars, federal prosecutors announced Tuesday. Munther Omar Saleh, 22, was sentenced to 18 years in prison and 10 years’ supervised release in Brooklyn federal court after pleading guilty last year to conspiring to help the jihadist group and assaulting a federal law enforcement officer. Saleh, a student at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in Queens, worked with late British ISIS recruiter Junaid Hussain to construct a pressure-cooker bomb and also discussed potential New York targets with him — including the

Two Massachusetts women are facing multiple charges after they allegedly tied down and burned a 5-year-old girl in a voodoo ritual. The girl, whose name has not been released, is permanently disfigured as a result of a ritual that was meant to “rid her of a demon that was making her misbehave,” the Brockton Enterprise reported. The two East Bridgewater women, identified as Peggy LaBossiere, 51, and Rachel Hilaire, 40, allegedly blew fire over the young girl’s face and cut her arm and collar area with a needlelike object, drawing blood, the girl’s 8-year-old brother told police. San Salvador - Last week, President Trump torpedoed an immigration deal put forward by a bipartisan group of senators. The Senate responded by rejecting his own, harsher plan. By the end of the week, the immigration debate seemed deadlocked between the fate of the Dreamers and the fate of the wall. But one thing is clear: Any plan that purports to make America safer by making it harder for immigrants to obtain legal status and increasing deportations will actually do the opposite. These proposals, embraced by Mr. Trump, are the same decades-old policies that helped transform Mr. Trump’s archenemy, Mara Salvatrucha
