When did the Irish become anti-Semitic?
Arutz Sheva [Israel], by Jack Engelhard

All of a sudden and from out of nowhere, since it’s February and not much else to do, Ireland has decided that it’s time to pick on the Jews. The Senate over there has been on the verge of passing a bill making it unlawful to buy or sell anything from Israel’s “territories.” You could get fined and/or imprisoned if, say, you are caught purchasing a golf club from the “West Bank.” Same punishment if you bring back juicy oranges from Ariel. That measure, which got widespread support within the Parliament, has been set aside, for the time being. It’s been put on hold

From today´s Scripture reading:
Psalm 129:5-8 (which I thought was interesting since it referenced grass growing on rooftops like the famous thatched roofs of Ireland)
"May all who hate Zion be turned back in shameful defeat. May they be as useless as grass on a rooftop, turning yellow when only half-grown, ignored by the harvester, despised by the binder.
And may those who pass by refuse to give them this blessing:The Lord bless you; we bless you in the Lord´s name."

Ireland was tacitly neutral in WWII and only barely cooperated with England due to fear of invasion. It was ideologically friendly to the Nazis, albeit partly motivated by hatred of England, rather than true believers.

How soon people forget.

Ireland´s practice of Christianity is a lot more robust than most Western countries and this has kept the muslim invasion to a trickle. That said, the left in parliament does compare the Palestinian plight to the 2nd class status that Irish used to have under British rule, and one can see how the boycott Israel fringe can push bills like this.

President Donald Trump slammed the ´fake news media´ for not reporting Facebook ads vice president´s claims that the 13 Russians indicted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller Friday weren´t trying to sway the 2016 election. In a barrage of angry tweets on Saturday afternoon, Trump used Rob Goldman´s words that the goal of the Russian influence operation was to sow fear and hatred in the United States, dividing citizens. Goldman claims that the Russians weren´t actually trying to sway the election, and that was just a consequence of their attempt to polarize American views. Facebook verified the authenticity of his comments. Trump later referenced

Trump signed the resolution in February, rolling back a regulation put in place in the final weeks of the Obama administration placing new restrictions on gun ownership by people with mental illness. He quietly signed it at a time when the White House was making a show of other legislation and even executive orders that Trump signed, such as the president´s travel ban that got hung up in the courts. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have rounded up more than 200 people for violating immigration laws during a five-day sweep in the Los Angeles area, which sparked a protest on Thursday. In addition to arresting 212 undocumented immigrants, federal agents also served more than 100 notices to local businesses that they will be audited to determine whether they are employing people who are in the country illegally. The raids triggered a demonstration by a small group of immigration advocates chanting ´stop the deportations´ who blocked a Homeland Security van from entering the federal Metropolitan Detention Center. George Soros believes that internet giants such as Facebook and Google have become a ´public menace´ and only the EU has the power to stop them. He says that by influencing the way their users think without them realising it, the companies have made people easy to manipulate, and this ´interferes with the functioning of democracy´, pointing to the election of Donald Trump as an example. While US regulators are not strong enough to tackle the monopoly that Google and Facebook have acquired, Soros argues, the EU is much better placed to do so and has already achieved some success. Britons are inadvertently eating meat from animals slaughtered while they are still conscious, a top vet has warned. There has been a sharp rise in the number of sheep and poultry being killed without being stunned first. This has been attributed to religious practices. But Lord Trees, a crossbench peer, said it was highly probable that some unstunned meat was entering the ‘standard’ food chain as well. Writing in the journal Vet Record, he

The Trump administration has settled a transparency lawsuit by agreeing to release visitor logs from some White House agencies – but not those that cover major West Wing areas. Offices on the White House complex that are specifically funded by Congress or are led by Senate-confirmed officials are required to make public records available in response to Freedom Of Information Act requests. But offices that are created by the president and managed internally are not. That includes most of the Executive Office of the President and the top-level officials who work most closely with the president – and the Oval Office itself. The

LONDON - Stocks, bond yields and commodities steamed higher on Thursday while the dollar tumbled, as investors suddenly seemed to forget the inflation fears blamed for a brutal market sell-off in recent weeks. Economists were struggling to explain the turnaround except for the argument that historically it’s not unusual for stocks and bond market borrowing costs to rise in tandem with a rapidly expanding economy. Some just blamed the weather and time of year. They speculated that strong U.S. inflation data on Wednesday that many had predicted could reignite the rout was probably distorted. They also said the looming Chinese New

San Salvador - Last week, President Trump torpedoed an immigration deal put forward by a bipartisan group of senators. The Senate responded by rejecting his own, harsher plan. By the end of the week, the immigration debate seemed deadlocked between the fate of the Dreamers and the fate of the wall. But one thing is clear: Any plan that purports to make America safer by making it harder for immigrants to obtain legal status and increasing deportations will actually do the opposite. These proposals, embraced by Mr. Trump, are the same decades-old policies that helped transform Mr. Trump’s archenemy, Mara Salvatrucha
