Seoul, South Korea - The plane carrying a high-level North Korean government delegation including leader Kim Jong Un’s sister has arrived in South Korea to attend the opening ceremony of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Kim Yo Jong will be the first member of North Korea’s ruling family to set foot in the South since the 1950-53 Korean War. The North Korean officials during their three-day visit beginning Friday will meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who’s trying to use the Olympics as an opportunity to pull North Korea into meaningful talks over its nuclear program.

Comments:
When negotiations fail, Kim Jong-un sends his sister. Translated: Stay in your hidden bunker for the foreseeable future. This, while you threaten the West by moving forward with a delivery system for your nukes.

What is happening between the Koreas is a result of the existence of President Trump.
(He won´t get credit for it, but...)
If NK sees no way to hustle the U.S., the way they did with Jimmy Carter, Dollar Bill Clinton, and Barack Obola, and China is less likely to save them, NK has to move in the direction of their southern brothers.
Thank you, DJT.

Three people with direct knowledge of the plan tell the Associated Press Romney will formally launch his campaign in a video on Thursday. His first public appearance as a Senate candidate is scheduled for Friday in Utah. The people who provided the information asked for anonymity because they were not authorized to talk about Romney´s plans in advance. (Video) - South Carolina Republican Trey Gowdy says that the House Oversight Committee is set to investigate the issues surrounding security clearances in the fallout of former White House staff secretary Rob Porter´s resignation. Gowdy confirmed to CNN on Wednesday that the panel launched its probe Tuesday night. "We are directing inquiries to people that we think have access to information we don´t have. You can call it official. You can call it unofficial. Those words don´t mean anything to me. What means something to me is I´m going to direct questions to the FBI that I expect them to answer," said Gowdy.

On Tuesday afternoon, the New York Times announced that it would be hiring Quinn Norton as an editorial board member. Shortly before 10 p.m., the paper fired her. Norton has been a prolific tech journalist—covering issues ranging from bioethics to the Anonymous movement for publications like Wired and the Atlantic—and seemed initially to be a remarkably good pick to become the Times’ lead opinion writer “on the power, culture, and consequences of technology.” The hours between her hiring and firing were an object lesson in all three. A number of unflattering facts about Norton traveled quickly across social media.

Berlin - When the discussion turns to the rising costs of living in many global cities, one factor rarely goes unmentioned: public transport fees. New Yorkers only spend about $116.50 per month on average, compared with up to $200 in London. Some Germans, however, might soon have to spend a whooping $0. (Snip) More than 130 cities in Europe are currently affected by “life-threatening” air pollution, according to the European Commission. They are believed to be responsible for about 400,000 deaths each year in the European Union. And even though Germany is far from being Europe’s most polluted nation, the topic is taken

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says the “macho atmosphere” of the 2016 campaign is what doomed Hillary Clinton. A more reasonable argument is that Mrs. Clinton wasn’t macho enough to make it to the White House. At a Columbia University Women’s Conference event on Sunday, Justice Ginsburg was asked again about the 2016 election, to which she opined, according to Fox News Insider, ” ‘I think it was difficult for Hillary Clinton to get by even the macho atmosphere prevailing during that campaign, and she was criticized in a way I think no man would have been criticized,’ Justice Ginsburg said.

Main Street continues to flourish under the Trump administration. The National Federation of Independent Business reports that optimism is at a 45-year high among America’s small businesses. The “Small Business Optimism Index” — a monthly gauge of sentiment among the owners — has broken the record for the measurement, established 45 years ago. “Main Street is roaring,” said Juanita Duggan, president and CEO of the group, which represents 325,000 small business concerns in all 50 states. “Small business owners are not only reporting better profits, but they’re also ready to grow and expand. Well, we finally know why Omarosa Manigault was fired from the Trump administration. According to a report published Tuesday by Politico, the “Apprentice” alum and current “Celebrity Big Brother” contestant had been using the White House car service as her own personal commuting taxi — and yeah, that’s not allowed. White House Chief of Staff John Kelly dismissed Manigault in December after learning that the former director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison had violated federal rules with her use of the White House car service, three administration officials told Politico.

Welfare for refugees — my,
how the U.S. taxpayer does pay

Taxpayers in the United States are shelling out a reported $867 million each year to support refugees who’ve been resettled in this country and make sure they have adequate food and clothing and the like. In the overall federal budgeting scheme, that’s maybe small potatoes. But at the same time, if we’re talking welfare — and we are — then it would seem the more American thing to pay for those already in-country, already legal citizens, before paying for those who are simply visitors. After all, tax dollars aren’t born from government labors. They come from the taxpayers — they come from the legal citizens. First dibs rightly belong to the

Shouldn’t official portraits of America’s presidents and first ladies attempt to resemble them? The point of these artistic exercises might seem archaic in the modern age, where photography can take the place of the artist. That might be the impulse that drove the portrait choices made for Michelle Obama’s remembrance, unveiled earlier this morning in a ceremony at the Smithsonian:(Snip for video)The audience erupted in applause, but the head-scratching began in earnest almost immediately afterward. Who is the woman in the portrait? It only bears a generic resemblance to the former First Lady, if that, HuffPost reporter Sam Stein noted: Sam

Monday morning, the Smithsonian´s National Portrait Gallery unveiled their official portraits of former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle. And while both portraits are the work of avant garde contemporary artists, in this case they might be just a touch too avant garde. Barack Obama´s portrait was done by pop artist Kehinde Wiley, who is well known for his hyper-realistic portraits of African American men and women, often done in the style of the Old Masters or with backgrounds familiar to fans of classical, "old world" European art. Wiley recreated Obama´s likeness in his trademark hyper-realistic way, with Obama

President Trump’s personal lawyer admitted on Tuesday that he paid off a porn star who allegedly had an affair with his boss — but insisted that the payout was his own money and not connected to the Trump Organization or the presidential campaign. Michael D. I´m gonna go out on a limb here: I generally like the Obama official portrait. It´s an odd style, but it expresses him and what´s more, it reflects the art of his era. (snip) Here´s the problem: It´s not drawn very well. The work shows a lack of skill in the basic rendering of an image. The hands are out of proportion in size, even placed in the foreground, overly big. One might be able to write that off as intentional. But the front hand itself has problems in construction, at least if the aim is to create a realistic

Steyer, a former hedge fund manager turned liberal activist, plans on cobbling together a group of experts Monday night to discuss Trump’s mental health and his nuclear ambitions. It’s part of his mission to oust Trump. He used various social media platforms in October 2017 to launch a “need to impeach” Trump movement. More than four million people have signed his petition so far, but House Democrats are not enamored with the move. House Minority Leader

It must have been her last act, more or less, before she vacated the White House. So obviously the email was important to her. But why would it be important to send an email to herself (the only person copied was one of her aides)? If you read the email, which Scott posted along with Senator Grassley’s letter to Rice, it is obvious that it is a CYA memo. But the question is, whose A is being C’d?
