Bermuda becomes first territory

The British territory of Bermuda has become the first jurisdiction to roll back same-sex marriage, less than one year after the unions were legalized by the socially conservative island’s supreme court. Governor John Rankin signed the Domestic Partnership Act into law Wednesday reversing the rights of same-sex partners to wed. The legislation allows any couple to enter into a domestic partnership and gives same-sex couples similar rights to those enjoyed by opposite-sex couples. But such partnerships will not be legally recognized as “marriage.” “The Act is intended to strike a fair balance between two irreconcilable groups in

I guess they believe in the "Bermuda Triangle", but not same sex marriage. So much for "over the rainbow..."

Private contracts and medical proxy/power of attorney agreements have always been available, right? Wouldn´t that be the way to formalize relationship duties and guarantee property ownership issues and so forth?

Why public recognition?

I applaud Bermuda´s move away from fake marriage "equality" and toward marriage reality.

Marriage is a heterosexual event.
That is our event.
If they want to do their own thing, good for them, they can come up with a name for what they do, they don´t have to change the meaning of our arrangement.

Several Jewish parents expressed outrage over the weekend after children at a New York City school were instructed to observe a moment of silence for the dozens of Palestinians killed during clashes along the Gaza border. The announcement of the Tuesday tribute at Beacon High School in Hell’s Kitchen was made by a student over the school’s PA system. It was not clear whether the decision had been approved by the school principal. The New York Post, which reported the story, said it was not able to reach principal Ruth Lacey for comment. Parents said they didn’t understand why the school chose to suddenly take a stance on the

A Cambridge professor with deep ties to American and British intelligence has been outed as an agent who snooped on the Trump presidential campaign for the FBI. Multiple media outlets have named Stefan Halper, 73, as the secret informant who met with Trump campaign advisers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos starting in the summer of 2016. The American-born academic previously served in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan administrations. The revelation, stemming from recent reports in which FBI sources admitted sending an agent to snoop on the Trump camp, heightens suspicions that the FBI was seeking to entrap

The state Senate voted 50-2 to allow students who qualify for medical marijuana to consume it on school premises, as long as they don’t smoke it and school officials agree that it won’t disrupt other students. The measure is named Ashley’s Law, for 12-year-old Ashley Surin of Schaumburg, who takes medical marijuana to treat the epilepsy she developed during chemotherapy treatments for leukemia. Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton acknowledged Friday that Democratic candidates around the country still face basic questions about what they stand for and which policies their party supports. Speaking at a Democrat Women’s Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., Clinton urged party leaders to return to the basics and lay out the party’s values for voters. Fair wages, the “absolute promise of universal health care,” public school funding, gun safety reform and equal pay were at the top of the former first lady’s agenda items that she thought should stay central to the Democratic Party’s platform.
