Two New York state lawmakers are pushing legislation that would ban manufacturers from making laundry detergent pods that look edible. New York City Democrats State Sen. Brad Holyman and Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas introduced legislation Tuesday in Albany that would prohibit manufacturers from making detergent pods that look like candy or other edible items, the Associated Press reported. The bills, proposed in the New York State Assembly and Senate, would require detergent packets to be one color, have packaging that is not see-through, and carry warnings about the risk of poisoning if pods are ingested. “Bright colored detergent pods look like candy, they look

Good. Grief. Democrats doing what they do best. Passing a ridiculous law that will never stop stupidity. All they do is reactionary that never solves any problems but creates more control by the government.

What a brilliant marketing strategy, make your product look as ugly as possible. 1) You could print Schumer´s face on each pod. 2) You could accept the inevitable and make them peppermint flavored to cover that yucky soap taste.

One possibility that doesn´t seem to have been considered is adding denatonium benzoate, the most bitter substance known, to the detergent capsule. It´s already used in such products as nail polish remover and denatured alcohol to discourage people from consuming them. It´s also the active ingredient in some animal repellents and anti-nail-biting preparations. This substance is vile-tasting enough that nobody should be able to choke one down.

Oh for gosh sakes. For the little kiddies, mom and dad need to keep all things potentially dangerous up and away from little ones. I had child proof latches put on some of my cupboard doors. Form the laundry room I had a high shelf installed for potentially harmful items. Now if the older kids think this is a fun thing partaking of the harmful pod tasting, then let them get a really bad tummy ache or worse. Maybe then they will rethink their foolishness.

Require English proficiency for resident aliens.

Stop lottery and chain migration policies and instead adopt a merit based immigration policy based on the Canadian model.

Support remedial English programs in high-need neighborhoods.

Don´t promote students to a higher grade if they haven´t attained the required literacy level.

When people can read the labels, they won´t have to rely on the labels design to figure out what´s inside.

Of course, no self-respecting Democrat would ever vote for any of the above suggested policies. Racist, doncha you know.

Secret FBI source for Russia investigation met

Washington Post, by Robert Costa*    Original Article

In mid-July 2016, a retired American professor approached an adviser to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign at a symposium about the White House race held at a British university. The professor took the opportunity to strike up a conversation with Carter Page, whom Trump had named a few months earlier as a foreign policy adviser. But the professor was more than an academic interested in American politics — he was a longtime U.S. intelligence source. And, at some point in 2016, he began working as a secret informant for the FBI as it investigated Russia’s interference in the campaign, according to people familiar

U.S. law enforcement and intelligence officials have leaked extremely sensitive information about a top secret source three times in the last week while claiming that confidentially sharing information about the source with congressional investigators could greatly impact U.S. national security and potentially risk the source’s life. He explained away the possibility of an FBI informant spying on the campaign as the bureau was trying to find out “what the Russians were doing to try to substantiate themselves in the campaign or influence or leverage it.” Obama’s Director of National Intelligence then went on to say, “So,
