Up Schiff’s Creek Without a Paddle

Schadenfreude is pleasure derived from someone else’s misfortune. Not wishing such on anyone, but instead enjoying a smile or a laugh when karma returns to bite someone on the rear end. Today schadenfreude is in the midwinter air, blowing briskly over hapless Congressman Adam Schiff, a frequent flier on Sunday talk shows and cable news interviews. As the ranking member of the House Select Intelligence Committee, he is in the thick of the recently released memos revealing how Hillary Clinton bought her way under the tent of the Trump campaign via the Obama justice and intelligence agencies. Congressman Schiff was punked by

"An important politician like Schiff is busy. Or should be."

As we have seen from tens of thousands of e-mails, these people are not busy at all. Even Hillary had time to wear out her keyboard on yoga discussions and wedding plans while holding one of the most important cabinet positions. Her SS protection is a complete waste since nobody cares what she does today.

Perhaps having 535 people representing us is far too many, given the poor job they do. Cut the House down to one third that size and the Senate to 1 person per state. That would add up to a sizable cost savings if you consider their multiple offices, salaries, benefits, staffs and travel expenses. Then get started on the really useless agencies. That budget deficit will disappear quickly.

Of course the MSM will carry the story that Schiff was merely participating in a merry prank, so the consequences of this becoming public will be minimal. But is there some way people (like us) outside the Congress can call for one of these "ethics investigations" to rain on his parade?

You know the drill because we’ve seen the same story so many times. Reports come in that scientists have discovered declining populations of a species of some sort, somewhere. Scientists study. For quite some time, they come up with no good answer. Concern grows. For maximum publicity and popular hand-wringing, it helps to be cuddly, cute, exotic, beautiful, or funny critters. But even if they are repulsive, sooner or later, global warming is blamed. Conclusion: We’re doomed! Because: Science. In a repeat of the state’s extraordinary role in the 2016 presidential election, this year Pennsylvania will be the center of a serious constitutional challenge. At stake may be the entire congressional balance of power between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats in PA are attempting to do through the courts what they were not able to do at the ballot box. They are assuming that the woes of their cause are due to redistricting, not to failed policies repudiated by the electorate. Trump’s stunning statewide victory in Pennsylvania in 2016 had absolutely nothing to do with gerrymandering. As background, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania

Robert Mueller’s indictments announced Friday are most notable for what Sherlock Holmes famously called “The dog that didn’t bark.” There was a clear, obvious, and pertinent statute that could have been applied to the alleged crimes but wasn’t. Now that the gun control advocates have had their fifteen minutes of fame, let’s start focusing on the real issues impacting the rise in school shootings since that infamous day in Columbine in 1999. Issue number one that no one in the mainstream media or government wants to acknowledge: fatherlessness. Specifically, the impact of fatherlessness on the boys who grew up to become school shooters.
