Congress reaches spending deal
Washington Times, by Stephen Dinan

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 2/7/2018 12:49:18 PM

Congressional leaders appeared to have reached a two-year spending deal Wednesday that would boost the budget by nearly $300 billion over the next two years, with the Pentagon’s budget rising $80 billion and domestic spending by $63 billion in 2018 alone. White House legislative chief Marc Short told reporters he expected Senate leaders to announce the deal later in the day. The numbers had been the sticking point as lawmakers went through last month’s shutdown showdown. Republicans wanted a major military increase, and Democrats had insisted that must be matched dollar-for-dollar with domestic spending.

Comments:
Citing these budget numbers, without mentioning immigration reform (the Wall, DACA, Dreamers) as the original reason for last month’s dRATS driven government showdown, makes this "announcement" sound hollow. Isn´t tomorrow the new deadline for another shutdown? I´m hoping they do, to show again what dRATS place over our Nation´s security.

And, once again, the Democrats will scream about the reckless deficit spending, and blame it on the tax cuts.

When will Republicans learn?

Schumer thanked every single Democrat Senator which will give them all a media play leading up to the November election, and make it sound like they´re doing all the good and need to be re-elected.

Isn´t ´working with democrats´ a little like working with America´s enemies? After all, isn´t anything that is good for America (like tax reform) bad for the dimmies? And anything that is bad for America (like legalizing illegal immigrants) good for the dimwits.. er democraps?

And of course the progressives in the republican party don´t fall far behind their dimmie fiends... err, I mean friends.

No, the American people are the big winners! Unlike the welfare and illegal immigrant mooches. Besides, the Pentagon- spending wise- is controlled by the appropriations.

Those $500 toilet seats? Spending restrictions put in place by some congressman, paying back a corporation for it´s financial support. Who would ever think the military would want to waste their money like that?

WRONG!!
Lousy deal if it does not DEFUND and ABOLISH the Federal (feral) Departments and operations that should not exist at all.
Education
Bureau of Land Management, generally
good places to start, there are MANY more. Get rid! of them totally.
Oh, and Liarwatha´s pet agency. Continue until done. This is NOT what many of us voted for, and we will remember.
The "spending deal" should result in paying DOWN the massive federal debt and begin with a 30 per cent or more REDUCTION in Federal spending. Anything else is just a puppet show for the masses.

#4, we have to put patriots into positions in the house and senate for that to happen. Too many are simply there for themselves and thus open to being bribed by this Republic´s enemies.

Start working on who wins the primaries now (should have already been working on that, actually)! We have to take back the house and senate from the uni-party!

What we need is a major military increase and a matched cut of domestic spending like cutting government bureaucracy, and all of the left wing programs now being funded.

Not good. This deal will increase budget deficit for 2018 to $1.2 trillion and 2019 to $1.3 trillion. I am old enough to remember when the Tea Party protested Obama’s $1 trillion deficits in 2009 and 2010. Spending is easy. Less spending is impossible. Bipartisan deals always mean more spending, more federal debt and soon, higher taxes to pay for a portion of it.

Worse, we’ll have an expensive military parade but do nothing to stop the thousands of Unaccompanied Alien Minors marching into our country from Mexico and Central America. One has to assume that MS-13 needs more gang members, so our Congress and White House want to assist.

Representative Claudia Tenney, a first-term Republican from Central New York, said in a radio interview on Wednesday that “so many” mass murderers “end up being Democrats.” Democrats immediately condemned her remarks, which came a week after 17 people were killed at a high school in Parkland, Fla., and called on her to apologize for politicizing gun tragedies. One of Ms. Tenney’s colleagues in the House, Representative Gerry Connolly, a Democrat of Virginia, wrote on Twitter that she “owes America a sincere and abject apology.” And her expected Democratic challenger this year, State Assemblyman

San Salvador - Last week, President Trump torpedoed an immigration deal put forward by a bipartisan group of senators. The Senate responded by rejecting his own, harsher plan. By the end of the week, the immigration debate seemed deadlocked between the fate of the Dreamers and the fate of the wall. But one thing is clear: Any plan that purports to make America safer by making it harder for immigrants to obtain legal status and increasing deportations will actually do the opposite. These proposals, embraced by Mr. Trump, are the same decades-old policies that helped transform Mr. Trump’s archenemy, Mara Salvatrucha

The FBI — already facing congressional investigations over its handling of the Russia probe and other political matters — was hit this week with a new batch of inquiries from lawmakers about its failure to act on tips that might have prevented the massacre at a high school in Parkland, Fla. Asked in 1972 if he believed in miracles, Billy Graham answered: Yes, Jesus performed some and there are many "miracles around us today, including television and airplanes." Graham was no theologian. Neither was he a prophet. Jesus said "a prophet hath no honor in his own country." Prophets take adversarial stances toward their times, as did the 20th century´s two greatest religious leaders, Martin Luther King and Pope John Paul II. Graham did not. Partly for that reason, his country showered him with honors. So, the subtitle of Grant Wacker´s 2014 book "America´s Pastor: Billy Graham and the Shaping of a Nation"
