Walgreens will now let customers use
bathrooms based on gender identity

New York Post, by Chris Perez

Walgreens has decided to change its bathroom policies following an incident at one of their Los Angeles locations — in which a woman was denied access to the ladies room because she “looked like a man.” The drugstore chain will now allow customers to “use restroom facilities that correspond to the individual’s gender identity, regardless of the individual’s sex assigned at birth,” according to officials. The American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California announced the policy change in a statement on Monday. “Everyone needs safe restroom access, and California law protects every person’s right to access restrooms based on their gender identity in

Comments:
It´s unclear whether this is a California or a nationwide deal, but Walgreens restrooms are now safe for gender-ambiguous hostiles looking for attention. If you stamp your feet and hold your breath, can you get things for free there?

They could put one of those neon signs above the ladies room door:

´´Pretty girl inside´´

´´Juvenile girl inside´´

´´Pervs Welcome´´

I only go into Walgreens when the have a good bargain on a few products. Otherwise, they are high price. When they first opened in Seattle, their price scanner were wrong many times on sales. A punk kid made me take him around the store to show him the sale price. I called their corporate office to complain. They didn´t care. Rite Air got in trouble for the same thing and eventually put upsigns telling customers their scanners were correct. Finally, they were. Watch the cash register when things are rung up, just to be sure. Caveate Emptor.

ALL of the drugstore chains have inflated prices and long lines and the air is foul from years of plastic seeping into the air and they have no natural light. I go in if I absolutely have to but otherwise stay out. And where I live Walgreen´s is particularly seedy. There is a local pharmacy with competitive pricing so I use them so this article does nothing for me other than to remind me how reflexive my eye-rolling response can be.

Washington — The Department of Veterans Affairs says the agency’s chief of staff has stepped down after an investigation found she had doctored emails to justify Secretary David Shulkin’s wife accompanying him on a European trip at taxpayer expense. The internal investigation by the department’s inspector general found “serious derelictions” by Shulkin and his staff and urged administrative action against Chief of Staff Vivieca Wright Simpson. Veterans Affairs spokesman Curt Cashour says Simpson “elected to retire” and the VA is opening a formal investigation into her actions. Japan accepted just 20 asylum seekers last year – despite a record 19,628 applications – drawing accusations that the country is unfairly closing its door on people in genuine need. Albany, N.Y. — New York state would make it illegal for police officers to have sex with people in their custody under a proposal gaining momentum in Albany. The idea picked up the support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday, who said he’ll amend his state budget proposal to include language saying that people in police custody cannot legally give consent to engage in sexual activity. Current law bars sex between correctional officers and inmates, but it doesn’t apply to police and people in their custody. Cuomo, a Democrat, called that omission an “egregious loophole” that must be closed.

The IRS is still paying bonuses to nearly 2,000 bad employees, including more than two dozen who were actual tax-cheats themselves, the agency’s inspector general said in a new report this week. The audit suggests the tax agency’s efforts to crack down on bonuses have not fully succeeded, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. IRS screening did stop more than 1,000 employees with tax problems from getting bonuses, but 1,962 employees with discipline problems — and 26 who had been found to have intentionally cheated on their tax returns — were still paid bonuses in 2016 and

The Senate’s new immigration compromise not only grants legal status to illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. before, but creates a new future amnesty that would even protect illegal immigrants who managed to sneak into the U.S. over the next four months, experts said. Not only would the bill enshrine Obama-era deportation rules, protecting most of the current 11 million illegal immigrants from fear of removal, but it extends those same protections to any illegal immigrants who can jump the border between now and June 30. The Homeland Security Department said the plan “destroys” their ability to enforce immigration
