In shocking move, feds drop all
charges against Sen. Bob Menendez

NJ.com, by Ted Sherman

Original Article

In a shocking turnaround, the U.S. Justice Department has dropped its case against U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez. In a court in Newark on Wednesday, federal prosecutors moved to dismiss the corruption indictment against the New Jersey Democrat after a federal judge last week acquitted Menendez and his co-defendant, Salomon Melgen, of seven of the 18 counts against them. Both were facing a retrial after a deadlocked jury could not reach a verdict in the high-profile case in November. (Snip) In a statement, Menendez said he never wavered in his innocence and his belief that justice would prevail.

Comments:
The order of dismissal was signed by Chief Judge Jose Linares, who was nominated by George W. Bush. Menendez never feared because there are different standards for Democrats, especially those from the Garbage State. Menendez, as I remember it, also is known for soliciting underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic and perhaps elsewhere. The same GOPers that just stuck us with Democrat Sen. Doug Jones in favor of strict constitutionalist Roy Moore take no issue with any of this.

Just a gut feeling but, after the Cliven Bundy beatdown the DoJ suffered for withholding exculpatory evidence, this seems like a "quit-digging" maneuver.

Menendez should be in federal prison. So should the Clintons and Lois Lerner. Laws are apparently for the little people.

Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for standing behind his decision to take down four monuments. The John F. It’s 2018. One of the world’s most powerful married men had a 22-year-old intern perform oral sex on him in his office. He’s been accused of sexual assault by three other women. One claims, as is the case with so many of the men who have fallen from positions of power as a result, that he exposed himself to her (which always makes me, at least, pause and wonder why on earth so many men seem to want to do this). We know, too, that he lied about his tryst with the intern. So why is Bill Clinton still presiding over glamorous parties? Then she learned how much she was overpaying for another medication to treat her irregular heartbeat. Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton acknowledged Friday that Democratic candidates around the country still face basic questions about what they stand for and which policies their party supports. Speaking at a Democrat Women’s Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., Clinton urged party leaders to return to the basics and lay out the party’s values for voters. Fair wages, the “absolute promise of universal health care,” public school funding, gun safety reform and equal pay were at the top of the former first lady’s agenda items that she thought should stay central to the Democratic Party’s platform.
