Just days before his 77th birthday, singer and songwriter Neil Diamond announced that he’s retiring from touring on his doctor’s orders — he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Diamond has worked for five decades as one of the most popular touring musicians, with his song “Sweet Caroline” a concert tradition. Going forward, he said he´ll focus on songwriting and recording. Diamond released a statement on his official website announcing the diagnosis. Sadly for fans, this means that the third leg of his 50th anniversary tour has been canceled. “It is with great reluctance and disappointment that I announce my retirement from concert

Comments:
What said news about an incredible, extremely talented man. There are too many songs to name that bring back so many wonderful memories. I cannot even imagine the stamina it takes to still tour at that age. That´s amazing. I am very fortunate that I have no health issues and it exhausts me to even think about doing having the energy to do that.

How sad is this reminder that we all have an "expiration date", and the "warranty" of youth runs out.

Great talent, great career ..

.. Thank you, Neil.

Enjoy the rest of your time with us, and be satisfied in your accomplishments. If you can continue to write and record in this phase of your life, so much the better.

I like a lot of his music. Sad to hear about the Parkinson´s. I had a friend die of this about 6 months ago, it took many years and was hard to watch. He fought well and long, but in the end, it took his mind before it took his life.

Best wishes for the future for Neil.

Hey you guys, quit talking about Neil Diamond in the past tense. He´s not dead -- he´s got Parkinson´s. So he can´t take the stress of the concert tours any more. He´s still writing music, and he´s still going to record some.
All this "Goodbye, Neil" stuff is spooky.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is not yet done investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 election after indicting 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities for seeking to interfere in the 2016 election, according to a report Friday. The indictments cover just a portion of the investigation, which is expected to continue on for months, a person familiar with the probe told Bloomberg. The probe is also seeking to determine if Trump obstructed justice, the person said. Mueller has not publicly confirmed that his team has ever looked into possible efforts obstruct justice.

The criminal indictment of 13 Russians for allegedly trying to influence “U.S. political and electoral processes” provides no evidence of any collusion between these Russians – or any other Russian officials – and the Trump campaign in the 2016 presidential race. While the description of alleged Russian activities is very troubling, it is important to note that the indictment makes no mention of any hacking or other activity that changed ballots, vote counts, or actually interfered with the election. In essence, the indictment is for trying to run the typical type of public misinformation campaign that the Soviet KGB was
