Paul Ryan on Trump Ad Attacking Dems:
‘I Don’t Know If That’s Necessarily Productive’

Breitbart Video, by Pam Key

Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) questioned President Donald Trump’s new campaign ad saying Democrats “will be complicit in every murder committed by illegal immigrants” if they continued the shutdown. Ryan said, “They are certainly not helping us keep the government open. They are certainly not helping us get to a solution on immigration. When you shut down the government you stop negotiating on immigration reform. They’re complicity with not getting things done.” He added, “I’m not going to comment. I just saw that. I don’t know if that’s necessarily productive. It’s no

And Paul, we know there are also Republicans with blood on their hands for failing to provide secure borders. Leaders in this category are John McCain, Lindsey Graham and W. Bush, and there are lesser luminaries too, foot draggers like yourself. You have a wall around your home property, but you are a bundle of excuses when it comes to building a border wall.

This is nothing to get worked up over. Ryan squarely puts the blame on the Dems, and his mild swipe at Trump´s statement shouldn´t concern us.

Paul Ryan is who he is - a career Beltway guy whose job as Speaker is very different from that of the President. He and Trump come from very different worlds, and IMO the two have made a good deal of progress in coming to a mutual understanding and working accommodation.

And that is what really matters. Don´t expect Ryan or anyone else to be a mini-Trump. Like Ryan, the Donald is who he is.

Yes, we noticed. And noticed. and noticed.

Paul Ryan is just fine. He´s got a hard job and he was much happier as chairman of the House Budget Committee, his dream job. But he reluctantly agreed to take the Speaker position and has done as good a job as anyone might do when herding members with such firmly held and divergent opinions. #17 is right.

In the aftermath of yet another horrific mass murder of innocents, we are, as always, besieged by calls for stricter gun control laws, from the daily media buffet of rallies and protests to politicians spewing what now has become a familiar script. But is the redundant, knee-jerk reaction calling for gun control a viable solution or just another political football being tossed into our daily cultural scrum? People had guns in the 1950s (and in the ´60s, ´70s, and ´80s), and the gun laws were more lenient than today, so why wasn´t there an epidemic of school shootings back then?

Outspoken leftist and "Grey´s Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo challenged Fox News host Laura Ingraham, whom she referred to as a "b****", to a physical fight on Friday. For real. "Someone tell this b**** to meet me outside," wrote Pompeo, referring to Ingraham, via Twitter. "Im [sic] so not in the mood for playing nice or polite this week." (Snip) The actress was reacting to a video clip, which she quote-tweeted, of Ingraham suggesting NBA star LeBron James quit the political activism and "shut up and dribble" — a reference to her 15-year-old book titled "Shut Up & Sing." Pompeo continued the taunting,

Chris Hughes, a co-founder of Facebook and chair of the Economic Security Project, has a proposal to attack the problem of rising income inequality through a basic income, a system of wealth distribution in which people receive a standard salary just for being alive. And he wants to pay for it by raising taxes on the one percent. (Snip) To pay for this, Hughes proposes bringing tax rates on the top 1% of earners in the country to 50% — which is in line with the historical average, he said. The idea is to provide people with a reliable income

DALLAS, Texas-A leader in Dallas politics does not want the National Rifle Association to meet in his city. Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway is urging the NRA to find a new home for its annual convention. He says the meeting is not appropriate in Dallas in the wake of last week´s school shooting in Florida. GOP Utah Senate candidate Mitt Romney is changing his tune on President Donald Trump from where he was one year ago. Trump endorsed Romney late Monday evening, giving the former failed presidential candidate “full support and endorsement.” Romney responded almost immediately, thanking the president for his kind words and for backing him the upcoming election. “Thank you Mr. President for the support. I hope that over the course of the campaign I also earn the support and endorsement of the people of Utah,” Romney tweeted late Monday evening. Romney’s statement Monday is strikingly different from ones he has previously made

“From my cold, dead hands!” – Charlton Heston Liberals love to fantasize about confiscating every gun in America. It may be their most beautiful dream. Liberals get control of the Supreme Court and ignore the Second Amendment; Washington makes gun ownership illegal; almost all the guns come pouring in or are destroyed; a few hapless Jim Bobs who won’t get in line get shot up by the cops and then the government is free to do anything it wants and if people don’t like it, well, what are they going to do about it without guns? Let me suggest a less happy,

Los Angeles County´s homeless population is increasing faster than the supply of new housing, even with the addition of thousands of beds in the last two years and millions of dollars beginning to flow in from two ballot measures targeting the crisis, according to a long-awaited report by the region´s homelessness agency. The report showed that officials two years ago far underestimated how much new housing would be needed when they asked city and county voters to approve the tax measures. (Snip) Providing permanent housing for the county´s chronically homeless population would require more than 20,000 new units, about 5,000 more
