As President Trump racks up undeniable wins related to jobs (unemployment is falling, including historic lows among blacks and Hispanics), economics (Trump’s tax bill resulting in over a hundred companies giving large cash bonuses to their employees and Apple repatriating some $250 billion back to the U.S.), and foreign policy (ISIS being systematically eradicated from Syria and Iraq, North Korea and South Korea announcing they will attend the upcoming Olympics under one flag), there are those in the media and elsewhere who are reluctant to give him credit. On the contrary, not only do they downplay these achievements, they insist

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea— The grand plan when Red Gerard and his brothers set down rails and attached a tow rope to a dirt bike to fashion a snowboard park in their backyard wasn’t all that grand. “Just having fun snowboarding,” Gerard explained. Look where all that fun landed him.The 17-year-old snowboarder from just outside of Breckenridge, Colorado, won the Olympic gold medal in slopestyle Sunday, courtesy of a nimble, creative ride through a wind-swept course that left almost everyone else scrambling to keep their footing. Gerard captured America’s first gold medal of the Pyeongchang Games — first medal of any color,

Medicaid recipients find $1 premiums

Imagine if you were poor and you got Medicaid, heavily subsidized by the taxpayer, but you had to pay between $1 and $15 a month in premiums. Wouldn´t that be confusing? For many people, it is so confusing that they don´t understand how to pay and end up being kicked off Medicaid. While the work requirement is unprecedented in the history of Medicaid, Mr. Wagner and others say they´re just as concerned about other new rules that will be confusing and hard to follow. For example, many adults who don´t pay their small premiums can be locked out of Medicaid

When do you know Trump derangement syndrome is at its peak? When liberals are gushing over murderous dictators and their kin just to “stick it” to the president. CNN took heat for a feature story on Saturday that said Kim Jong Un’s sister is “stealing the show” at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. “If ‘diplomatic dance’ were an event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un’s younger sister would be favored to win gold,” the article began. It then described the North Korean dictator’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, as having “struck a chord with the public,” and even

The same Saul Alinsky-style community organizing methods that served Barack Obama well on the Southside of Chicago became indispensable tools in his quest to "fundamentally transform" the whole world from "what it is" into "the world as it should be." It was Barack Obama´s friend and former chief campaign strategist, David Axelrod, who confessed to NPR that community organizers in Chicago would throw bricks through the window of Democrat campaign headquarters and call a press conference to blame the opposition. So when Obama accused Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin of colluding to steal an election, the brick that landed on

On the afternoon of August 21, 2015, on a train headed to Paris from Amsterdam, an Islamic terrorist named Ayoub El Khazzan exited a bathroom with a AKM rifle and 300 rounds of ammunition. The first person to try and stop him was Mark Moogalian, a 51-year-old American-born Frenchman, who wrestled the rifle away from El Khazzan but was shot in the back with a pistol Moogalian did not know the terrorist was carrying. With his rifle and rounds back in his grasp, El Khazzan made his way to the passenger car. It was here that he met up with

Speed skater Shani Davis has boycotted the opening ceremony at the winter Olympics after a coin toss was used to decide who would lead out the U.S. delegation. That decision put luge star Erin Hamlin at the front of the pack. On Friday, she beamed a broad smile as she carried the U.S. flag in Pyeongchang, South Korea, to the tune of "Gangnam Style." Hamlin, 31, was chosen in a coin toss with Davis, 35, one of just a few black athletes on Team USA. That coin flip came after the two tied 4-4 in a vote among eight U.S. winter sport

President Trump rarely if ever reads the President’s Daily Brief — a document that summarizes US intelligence on important events from trouble spots around the world, according to a new report. Instead, Trump relies on a staffer to give him an oral summary, The Washington Post reported Friday, citing sources. The commander-in-chief prefers television to reading and has a notoriously short attention span, according to multiple reports, preferring that memos be kept to a single page with bullet points. But skipping the daily briefing breaks precedent with the last seven presidents to hold office. One source said that reading the document doesn’t jibe with

The 2018 Winter Olympics officially opened on Friday but the first bit of drama has already boiled over: a three-way dispute between Adam Rippon, the first openly gay American man to qualify to compete in the Winter Games; Mike Pence, the conservative vice president and longtime opponent of gay rights; and the newspaper USA Today. As controversies go, this one seems to have it all. Mr. Rippon, a charismatic 28-year-old figure skater, newly minted gay icon and social media darling, criticized Mr. Pence for his opposition to gay rights and long-rumored support of conversion therapy, a discredited practice that proponents claim

Melania Trump has been beloved as First Lady for her rare combination of elegance and daring fashion sense. She initially sparked faux-indignation in the past by wearing spiky stilettos, even on official visits, like viewing the Harvey aftermath. So, when the First Lady got off Air Force One this week wearing not only stilettos but a yellow trenchcoat and sweater, along with a sleek brown leather skirt, she was clearly embracing a vision of strong femininity. As she stood in front of Marine One, she showed how to pull off the wind swept look with the off-shoulder trench coat.
