It’s a collection unlikely to be duplicated: nearly 250,000 ancient Native American arrowheads, some as old as 12,000 years. North Carolina couple Moon and Irene Mullins amassed the relics over a half-century, and Moon willed it to his friend and caregiver Jerry Williams. The collection is featured on the FOX Business Network series, “Strange Inheritance with Jamie Colby Opens a New Window. .” The episode premieres Monday, Jan. 22, at 9 p.m. ET. “The Mullins Collection surpasses anything I’ve seen in private hands,” says Joe Candillo, Native American historian and a member of the Pascua Yaqui tribe. “It’s breathtaking. I worked with a man in Roswell, New Mexico who had an arrowhead collection of tens of thousands of specimens. He asked me to help him mount them and organize them. I would have been glad to if I had had ten years spare time to do it. He had some spear points, pure white, that were more than 14" long. Some of his tiny points were less than an inch and absolutely perfect in every detail. It was fascinating. I would love to go to this museum someday.

PS: I used to fly my small plane over that desert and all along the Pecos river and tribs, just looking at the ground for old ranches. I loved exploring them. And all over the landscape you can see these little circles of stone if you are low enough, and these, I was told by my friend, are the antelope hides the native Americans made to hunt antelope. And if you find one of these sites (which on the ground are practically invisible), you will find hundreds of arrowheads all around them. they were used by tribe hunters for thousands of years. the antelope are still there and incredibly beautiful. I´ve had them walk right up to the window of my truck- just sit still, they will come right up to you. They are notoriously curious animals, which made them easy prey for the bow and arrow hunters.

Neat collection, I have a few I have found over the years but now you can´t even pick up an arrowhead on any public land which is pretty much ALL of the country west of KS.

*Putting on my Pedantic Archaeologist’s Hat now*

The PROPER and CORRECT term is POINT. They come in various sizes but the most common, prolific and well known are DART points. Typically they are attached by sinew and glue to a lng shaft and thrown either by hand or an atl-atl. Yes there are points tiny enough to be attached to a thin stick and shot from a bow. Theyre a bit more rare than darts.

Just a side note that I wanted to share because its interesting. As a former archaeologist, collecting stone tools is contoversial outside the scientific method of excavation. Stone points are often diagnostic to a site and removing them from a location reduces their “value”. often times someone will say to me “hey so and so has arry heads you should go talk to them” and I have to reply “why should I do that now? The site is destroyed and a box of stone points tells me nothing about the place where they were found.”

Yes I know that annoys the hell outta people but I respect scientific study. I was told often by my profs that the only thing separating the archaeologist from a money grubbing pot hunter was the Scoentific Method. Thats what archaeologu IS.

Sen. Chuck Schumer is a true Never Trumper. He opposes every single thing President Trump tries to do, and he´ll do anything he has to do to thwart Trump´s agenda -- anything. In January, Schumer gave his word to provide $25 billion to Trump to fund new border security measures -- as long as Trump agreed to permanent legal protections for illegal aliens. Then, he broke his word and withdrew the offer. Schumer has bashed Trump for his overtures to denuclearize the Korean peninsula -- even though the president is on the brink of ending the Korean War -- and

Editor-at-large of The Weekly Standard Bill Kristol said he was glad White House officials are leaking sensitive information to the press because it gives people a better idea of who is working for the president. Kristol was debating American Conservative Union Chair Matt Schlapp, who condemned the leaks as being harmful to the country and President Donald Trump’s agenda. “Can you imagine … if you went into a staff meeting and you were trying to determine what you were going to talk about that day,” Schlapp told CNN’s “New Day” co-host Chris Cuomo. “And everybody has ideas and they bounce

Green Beret and former UFC fighter Tim Kennedy livestreamed a video of himself Saturday voluntarily being waterboarded by his friends to illustrate that the practice could not be compared to real torture tactics. The more than 40-minute-long video, Kennedy said, was meant to show support for President Trump’s nomination of Gina Haspel for CIA director. The Democrats are having a major case of the sadz, and it’s hilarious. Their generic lead in the midterms ballot has evaporated. Lakietha Lashell Lawrence, 27, was arrested by Dallas school district police officers on charges of assaulting a public servant. She was taken to the Dallas County Jail. The Republican, who has an aggressive form of brain cancer, urged the former vice-president to “not walk away” from politics, Biden told the New York Times. Trump has said he distrusts mental health professionals, so we don’t have access to a formal assessment of his psychology.
