California Democrats want businesses to
give half their tax-cut savings to state

San Francisco Chronicle, by Melody Gutierrez

Original Article

Posted By:poster, 1/18/2018 8:17:44 PM

California lawmakers are targeting the expected windfall companies in the state would see under the federal tax overhaul with a bill that would require businesses to turn over half to the state. A proposed Assembly Constitutional Amendment by Assemblymen Kevin McCarty, D -Sacramento and Phil Ting, D-San Francisco, would create a tax surcharge on California companies making more than $1 million so that half of their federal tax cut would instead go to programs that benefit low-income and middle class families.

The California state legislature appears to be determined to make California businesses noncompetitive or drive them out of the state in order to be competitive.

These proposals are insane and self-destructive!

California Democrats are in the process of running all productive enterprise out of the state. Within a generation Texas (or even Florida, unless those state turn sharply leftward) will surpass California in population as overtaxed, overregulated Californians flee what was once the greatest state in the Union. Democrats destroy.

I thought that the California big wigs had a deal for the rich Californians to "donate" their tax cut to the state in return for a federal tax deduction (charitable deduction).

I guess when they asked the rich Hollywood Democrat elite, they learned what their idea of charity is ... to get their "fans" to donate to their charities.

Remember when they did "Feed the World" a couple decades back? I guess "Feed the California Bureaucrats" doesn´t have the same catchy ring to it.

For Democratic opponents, SNAP was the sticking point. After the bill failed, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., denounced the bill "cruel," "destructive" and "heartless," and

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said Tuesday that the FBI was not at any point spying on the Trump campaign. “They were not. They were spying — a term I don´t particularly like — on what the Russians were doing," Clapper said during an appearance on The View to promote his new book, “Facts and Fears: Hard Truths From A Life In Intelligence.” The FBI, Clapper said, was simply trying to answer the question, "Were the Russians infiltrating, trying to gain access, trying to gain leverage and influence?" Democrat Rep. Al Green (D-TX) had harsh words for President Trump late Tuesday, warning that if Democrats retake the House of Representatives in November, they´ll begin the 2019 legislative session with articles of impeachment, even if Trump hasn´t done anything to require it. Speaking to C-Span, Rep. Green suggested that he has the "right and privilege" to impeach the president, even absent evidence that the president has committed "high crimes" or "misdemeanors" by virtue of the U.S. Constitution. "There’s a good likelihood there will be articles of impeachment” brought against the President, Rep. Green said.
