That’s a big step,” Mr. Trump told reporters. He said he has been speaking to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis about deploying the military on the border. About 1,000 immigrants from Central America, mainly Honduras, are moving in a group through Mexico toward the U.S. Some of them are expected to seek asylum if they reach the U.S. “We cannot have people flowing into our country illegally, disappearing, and by way

Instagram is cracking down on third-party apps by restricting their access to user data amid the fallout following claims that Cambridge Analytica inappropriately gained access to the Facebook data of 50 million users. The popular photo-sharing platform, which boasts over 800 million monthly users and was purchased by Facebook in 2012 for $1 billion, is limiting access to user data in a surprise change to its API, according to TechCrunch. Instagram on Friday reduced the number of times developers can pull data from its API from 5,000 calls per hour to only 200 calls per hour, according to TechCrunch. It’s been several days since Fox News host Laura Ingraham offered an apology to student gun control activist David Hogg for characterizing him as whiney on Twitter. And it’s been a couple of days since Hogg told Ingraham, via national television, sorry, your apology is unacceptable — and now you must denounce your employer or face the continued wrath of calls for advertiser boycott. Well, the battle lines have been drawn anew. And now Larry Elder, talk show host and nationally recognized conservative writer, has put out a series of tweets that outright blast back at the hypocrisy of the media, the left and the whole

Washington - The Palestinian Authority and Palestine Liberation Organization gained a legal victory at the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday as the justices refused to consider reinstating a $655.5 million jury award won against them by 11 American families over militant attacks in Israel. The court declined to hear the families’ appeal of a lower court’s 2016 ruling throwing out the jury award secured in a lawsuit brought under the Anti-Terrorism Act, a law that lets American victims of international terrorism seek damages in U.S. courts. The families had looked to hold the Palestinian Authority and PLO liable for six shootings and bombings

With the U.S. Census Bureau reporting yet another year of population loss for the city, it doesn’t take an investigator to determine the causes. The city’s scary record of 343 homicides in 2017 affirms the city’s well-known reputation as a dangerous place to live. Even if 2018 has fewer homicides, it doesn’t take a fortune teller to predict that this year’s homicide rate will be high. Until the city substantially reduces its homicide and other crimes rates, people will continue to view the city as dangerous and be reluctant to stay or move here.

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III informed President Trump’s attorneys last month that he is continuing to investigate the president but does not consider him a criminal target at this point, according to three people familiar with the discussions. In private negotiations in early March about a possible presidential interview, Mueller described Trump as a subject of his investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. Prosecutors view someone as a subject when that person has engaged in conduct that is under investigation but there is not sufficient evidence to bring charges.
