Migrants Fleeing to Canada Learn
Even a Liberal Nation Has Limits

New York Times, by Dan Bilefsky

Original Article

After fleeing to Montreal from Long Island, Marlise Beauville felt, she said, as if she had reached the Promised Land. She entered the country last summer without immigration papers, yet received a work permit, a monthly stipend of 600 Canadian dollars, or $480, free health care and free French lessons. The weather has become bone-cold chilly but her Canadian neighbors are warm. Though it is not clear that she will be able to stay, she is hunkering down, adamant that limbo in Canada is better than returning to Haiti, where she fears that the family of her dead husband will kill her.

Comments:
Why isn´t the NYT calling all these Canadian politicians names and the same things they say about us because we cannot take in millions?

I started to read this little trollop, then I reaized that I disbelieve that there is such a person as “marlise beauville” and that the nyt would have to print verifiable reproductions of her identity documents before I would believe its assertion that there is such a person.

And everything else the nyt says I’m even more sceptical of.

Why would I read such a fake news artifact?

They are not calling these Canadian politicians rude names like they do to us. But this article does in a calm and reasoned manner, point out that Canada cannot take more illegals with reasons why, and they do not want to!
Really it is such a shame our hysterical PT hating media cannot calm down for 5 minutes to write a fair article about our issues with this same problem in America.

Let me get this straight, Marlise Beauville´s late husband´s family threatened to kill her if she did not hand over his inheritance so she fled to the US where she eked out a living? It must not have been much of an inheritance since it did not allow her to live well in the US. She could have given it to the family and then eked out a living in Haiti and been legal. I call BS on the claim of death threats. She fled for economic reasons only and while she eked out a living in the US she wasn´t missing any meals.

People become conditioned to their surroundings no matter where they fall on the s-hole scale.I lived in a s-hole apt. for two ears. From our perspective, people in these countries live in squalor and worse but they don´t know any better lifestyle.

I accidentally walked in on dad in the bathroom and he was squatting on the toilet instead of sitting. It puzzled me for years. Then it dawned on me he was raised before there was widespread plumbing. You never know what could be swarming around in an outhouse basin. Even after he got clean plumbing he couldn´t break his old habit.

Donald Trump continues to baffle. Never Trump Republicans still struggle to square the circle of quietly agreeing so far with most of his policies, as they loudly insist that his record is already nullified by its supposedly odious author. Or surely it soon will be discredited by the next Trumpian outrage. Or his successes belong to congressional and Cabinet members, while his failures are all his own. Rarely do they seriously reflect on what otherwise over the last year might have been the trajectory of a Clinton administration. Contrary to popular supposition, the Left loathes Trump not just for what

The New York Times reported Tuesday on the departure of the outspoken ideologue whom Trump re-branded as ´Sloppy Steve´ following the publication of a loosely reported tell-all book last week. A source close to Bannon confirmed that his departure was the product of a revolt on the publication´s board of directors, led by longtime financier and donor Rebekah Mercer.

Senate Republicans have dropped a plan to create a so-called trigger for tax hikes meant to satisfy deficit hawks, leaving the GOP scrambling to change its plan and win over enough votes to pass their massive tax code overhaul. Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas) said the proposal — a trigger to raise tax rates if sufficient economic growth did not materialize — would not pass muster procedurally and would need to find something else to satisfy the bloc of deficit hawk holdouts, led by Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.). “It doesn’t look like the trigger is going to work, according to the

He has been a public face of the administration´s crackdowns on immigrants and border security, a tough talking law enforcement careerist who is unapologetic about being "heartless" when it comes to deporting even the most sympathetic longtime U.S. residents.

The most remarkable thing about the current tide of sexual assault and harassment accusations is not their number. If every woman in America started talking about the things that happen during the course of an ordinary female life, it would never end. Nor is it the power of the men involved; history instructs us that for countless men, the ability to possess women sexually is not a spoil of power; it’s the point of power. What’s remarkable is that these women are being believed. Most of them don’t have police reports or witnesses or physical evidence; many of them are recounting

The other profile is reality: In the backroom, where the employees eat lunch, the Democrats and their fat-cat donors are committing unspeakably sleazy and immoral acts.
