Bundy Morning Quarterbacking
Steyn Online, by Mark Steyn

Original Article

Lost in the tumbling headlines of a busy week was a ruling that reminds us the corruption of federal justice is not confined merely to a few politicized bureaucrats monkeying around in the Hillary and Trump investigations. On Monday, US District Court Judge Gloria Navarro dismissed with prejudice (against the Justice Department) all charges against Cliven Bundy and his sons. If you´ve forgotten the Bundys´ stand-off with the Feds in Nevada, here´s how National Review´s David French summarizes it: On one side was a collection of dangerous, out-of-control armed men who were deliberately provocative, prone to saying unhinged things in a

Such a horrifying case. As Mark Steyn points out, for government agencies to have their own (armed) law enforcement is something not found in any other civilized country. I wish Trump would take notice of it.

BLM must be demilitarized- they have proven they’re not trustworthy.
Bundys, Hammonds and murdererd Levoy Finicum are the most public victims.
Is there uranium under rancher Hammonds Land?
Feds forced them to sign over their land if they decide to sell- WHY? How is this legal?
Western land should be opened up to public for settlement-USE.
Why not new Homestead ACT?
WHy was Dan Love fired and not prosecuted?
Who else supported him?
Radical environmentalists are behind much of this lawlessness- as well as GHWB Agenda 21 for globalists.
Thank God for President Trump.

A very large problem is that this kind of action is far too common with the US government agencies. They seem to find the use of force far too easy rather than working through and understanding a problem.

Corruption was the name of the game in all these attempted land grabs. Reid was involved in the one in Nevada, and the BLM tried to steal the Hammonds property in Oregon.

I noticed that the Feds backed off though when armed ranchers came to the rescue and backed up the targeted victims. Forget about the South rising again, they can stand in line behind the Western cowboys.

In this excellent and comprehensive article, Mr. Steyn questions why out of control low-level "pen pushers" at countless federal bureaus have taken it upon themselves the right to order "occupational forces", that include snipers, to harass private citizens.

Mr. Steyn also addresses other issues including asking why the federal government owns 80% of Nevada land.

Thank you, OP, for posting.

To put it bluntly, the BLM were scared sh*ytless. They were facing law abiding armed civilians who were there to ensure the Bundys were not slaughter like the folks at Waco.

The courts confirmed the evil that is at the BLM currently. President Trump needs to disarm every Federal Agency that does not have a military mission. We have the National Guard and our wonderful military to provide enforcement if the situation warrants it.

Don’t rule out the possibility that the White House leak that set the media aflame in foolish suppositions this week came from Mr. Trump himself. That would be the leak saying he ignored his staff’s advice not to congratulate Russian President Vladimir Putin on his sham election victory. After all, who delights in letting us know that he defies the advice of his establishment advisers? Who believes and has told us repeatedly that his personal-relationship prowess is the solution to America’s toughest problems? And who put the call to Mr. Putin on his schedule in the first place? Let’s pause here to say

Evangelicals and Christians are now under intense public pressure to condemn one particular adulterer. Weirdly, this pressure comes from many of the same people who normally cleave to a one-verse New Testament (“Judge not, lest ye be judged!”). But in the wake of potential revelations about the president, these formerly “non-judgmental” observers are suddenly joining the howling, rock-hurling mob. Here we ordinary folk are, minding our own businesses (gun stores and wedding cake bakeries and such), when suddenly we find NeverTrumpers on one hand, and the Left on the other, eagerly pressing stones into our palms. Then they wait in gleeful

In the last year, or so, Jordan Peterson, the University of Toronto clinical psychologist turned internet sensation, has emerged as arguably the most important intellectual figure on the right today. The firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe days before his retirement was a rare case of justice. Both the Justice Department inspector general and the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility found that “McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor—including under oath—on multiple occasions.” Even one Democratic politician conceded that McCabe’s firing “may have been justified.” But in the federal bureaucracy, very few people who deserve to be fired actually are. Firing government employees is an onerous process. It requires investigations, counseling sessions, appeals, union arbitrations, and court hearings, all of which can take years. Managers are

A sickening act of youth violence in Florida glinted across the news headlines last week, and then disappeared from view. There will be no CNN town halls or student walkouts over the lost life and preventable tragedy, because there are no guns to blame. Only dropped balls. As the exploiters of crisis know full well, bureaucratic screw-ups don´t make good fodder for partisan fundraisers and hipster T-shirts. According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Palm Beach County police, 17-year-old Corey Johnson bought a knife last Sunday and brought it with him to a sleepover at longtime friend Kyle Bancroft´s house.

President Obama used his executive powers to attack industries to lower the value of certain companies, allowing his friends in the private sector to swoop in and buy them up at reduced prices, according to Peter Schweizer’s new book Secret Empires: How Our Politicians Hide Corruption and Enrich Their Families and Friends. The book, released Tuesday, said Obama and his administration would deem industries either destructive to the environment or exploitative for the financial and professional gain of his friends, including industries such as coal mining, offshore drilling, cash advance companies, and for-profit colleges. A six-year St. Mary’s County sheriff’s deputy, Gaskill worked as a school resource officer at Great Mills High School since August. He’s credited with stopping gunman Austin Wyatt Rollins, who shot a 16-year-old female student he’d had a prior relationship with, authorities said. A 14-year-old male student also was injured. Gaskill and Rollins, 17, fired a shot at exactly the same time – and it’s unclear whether Rollins committed suicide or died from Gaskill’s bullet. Rollins later died

President Donald Trump’s choice of John Bolton as his new national security adviser — and his ongoing escalation of trade hostilities and reshuffling of his legal team — have all been widely interpreted as evidence that Trump is finally governing and conducting himself as he wanted to all along. He’s tired of advisers who are steering him away from his true agenda and persona, goes this narrative; instead, he’s finally getting back to the basics that make Trump who he really is. But this framing is built on a distortion that underplays just how dangerous Trump’s evolution really threatens to become.

No film genre is more quintessential to the American soul than the Western. The virtues Westerns champion—courage, moral clarity, self-reliance, individualism—are American virtues; their vices—excessive or hokey moral simplicity, caricatures of the enemy—are American too. Westerns are so synonymous with the legend that is America that it’s little wonder that from their heyday in the 1950s until today, they’ve played a key role in shaping our perception of ourselves, as well as the world’s opinion of us.
