NEW YORK Newark Airport has been evacuated following a fiery explosion underneath a terminal building. Shocking images show a column of flames shooting up from a roadway at the international airport terminal amid the blast. Sections of Newark Liberty International Airport were evacuated and closed off to the public after reports smoke filled parts of Terminal C amid the blast. The blast was caused when an electrical transformer had caught fire underneath the airport building. No one was injured in the blaze, which occurred around 11.00 local time (16.00 GMT). Flames sprung up from inside a manhole operated by electric company PSE&G, based in

Not to detract from the seriousness of the incident, but the last time I was at Newark Liberty it was still in New Jersey. Did this change?

Boris Johnson has launched a scathing attack on ´puerile and backward-looking´ Labour protesters trying to stop Donald Trump from visiting the UK. Writing in his Sunday Telegraph column, he argued it is in Britain´s national interest to welcome the leader of the world´s greatest and most powerful democracy. Johnson emphasised America is our greatest trading partner whose companies have invested £250billion and provided 1.2million jobs in the UK. He wrote: ´In 2016 the people of the United States not only elected Donald Trump; they bought £100 billion of British goods and services. That is more than twice what we sold to Germany –

A major winter storm has taken aim at the Rockies and Midwest, even as the East Coast is set to enjoy usually warm weather. Dubbed Winter Storm Jaxon by the Weather Channel, the storm had already dumped a foot of snow on Salt Lake City by noon on Saturday, and was expected to pummel Denver on Sunday. In Park City, 30 miles east of Salt Lake City, nine inches of snow fell on the Sundance Film Festival, where demonstrators huddled in the cold to protest President Donald Trump and hip hop performer Common was spotted hurling a snowball. AN in-depth study into the impact of Brexit has revealed that even the most basic trade deal with the EU would see the £35billion divorce bill look "like a bargain". The UK struck a "bargain" when they agreed to the £35billion divorce bill with the EU - as the economic boom after Brexit will see "the bill pay for itself". According to top-level Bloomberg economists, even the most basic free trade deal with the EU would bring in over £40billion in just three years. Brexit Secretary David Davis has been pursuing a "Canada-plus-plus-plus" deal, which would see Britain replicate the Canada-style

ANOTHER nail in the coffin of Project Fear. It is becoming increasingly clear that the constituent countries of the EU as well as the bloc itself are exceedingly keen to strike a trade deal: the Prime Minister will today hail the most wide-ranging agreement in Anglo-French history. And significantly, while it does not specifically cover Brexit, it does mention a comprehensive agenda, covering everything from space exploration to the Bayeux Tapestry. This is proof, if it were needed, that Brexit is no bar to continuing good relations with our EU counterparts, to say nothing of the fact that we have a

There’s a ghost haunting Elizabeth Warren as she ramps up for a possible 2020 presidential bid and a reelection campaign in Massachusetts this year: her enduring and undocumented claims of Native American ancestry. Warren says now, as she has from the first days of her public life, that she based her assertions on family lore, on her reasonable trust in what she was told about her ancestry as a child. “I know who I am,” she said in a recent interview with the Globe. But that self-awareness may not be enough, as her political ambitions blossom.
