Furious Chicago Professors Demand
Obama Move His ‘Socially Regressive’
Presidential Center Elsewhere

Sometimes you just cant win. Former president Obama is finalizing plans for his Obama Presidential Center, which will be built in Chicago, Illinois and will be within a stone’s throw of the University of Chicago.(Snip) The library’s design and location has been a source of controversy itself within the Chicago community. In a recent letter, over 100 members of the University of Chicago faculty and dozens of community groups strongly condemn Obama’s plan. Why? Because, according to the professors, the Obama Presidential Center wastes millions of taxpayer dollars in an already broke state, destroys a public park and is “socially regressive” to

Comments:
Loved the headline. It says so much. The mighty Zero has managed to alienate just about every “community” he ever belonged to, including the professors. “Socially Regressive”? Nothing like a socially regressive community organizer. Little by little, they are figuring him out...

OP comment: The article goes on to list and illustrate the professors’ complaints. Also included is this link to their original letter:

The length of the list of professor signators to this complaint letter is long and being added to everyday.

"Socially regressive"? Oh, there´s a low blow. That alone is going to put Obama off his arugula.

This being Chicago, I assume all the noise is just clarifications of where, and to which parties, the pallets of money, all in unmarked white envelopes, should be delivered.

Ironic that this fraud would use a public park designed by a man who believed that the common green space must always be equally accessible to all citizens, and was to be defended against private encroachment. Olmstead was a co-designer of Central Park.

While I agree wholeheartedly with the UC faculty, I do think that it´s interesting that the most liberal people in the world will finally challenge Obama when they are the ones being affected.

When it was the rest of us being destroyed by Obama and his whims not so much.

There´s a cable TV show called ´Abandoned´ that shows grandiose buildings and projects that were left to rot because they turned out to be useless. I expect Obama´s site to appear on the show not long after it is completed.

Near as I can tell, they will have no National Archives presidential documents. It sounds like they have been destroyed, or they have claimed that none exist.

I´m with #22. My first thought was that they actually did build a concrete outhouse, with a companion waste treatment center.

I also noticed that the model used leafless trees. Usually those models show full beautiful shade trees. How appropriate to give us a visual of Zero´s fruitless regime.

I agree this monstrosity will never be built, but the design does embody The Big Ugly. God has a "wicked" sense of humor.

Bubba Clinton got his "double wide adult bookstore and massage parlor" in Little Rock so let Obama have a monument to his life.

An existing structure is probably available at a great cost savings to the Obama Foundation.

The "Man´s Country" bath house in downtown Chicago could be acquired and become a "twofer"-- a Presidential and Mayoral Lie Bury, since rumors abound that Obama and Rahm Emanuel were both life time members before the records were "laundered".

WASHINGTON — Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon has refused to answer a broad array of queries from the House Intelligence Committee about his time working for President Donald Trump, leading the committee chairman to authorize a subpoena. The developments Tuesday brought to the forefront questions about White House efforts to control what Bannon tells Congress about his time in Trump’s inner circle, and whether Republicans on Capitol Hill would force the issue. The congressional subpoena came the same day The New York Times reported that Bannon, a former far-right media executive and recently scorned Trump adversary, has been

Time, further questioning, and a host of inherent contradictions will eventually bring more sunlight upon the authorship of “The Dossier”. Additionally, how it was used by the DOJ/FBI in gaining FISA-702 query and upstream data surveillance approvals, what the media calls “FISA Warrants”, is soon to reach sunlight. It’s unavoidable. In addition to the absurd claims debunked within the dossier, a significantly under-discussed aspect is the actual authorship. There is an interesting dynamic unfolding with White Hats and Black Hats amid the story of how political forces within the DOJ and FBI conspired with Clinton allies in the 2016 presidential election, ie. “The Trump Operation”. [Hi Glenn, Jim, Andy] Back-story – There are two central components: *First, corruption within the DOJ and FBI that included their use of unlawful use of FISA-702 exploits; and *second, how that intelligence information was extracted, passed along to those outside government, repackaged, and reconstituted into the “Steele Dossier”. WASHINGTON- President Donald Trump relentlessly congratulates himself for the healthy state of the U.S. economy, with its steady growth, low unemployment, busier factories and confident consumers. But in the year since Trump´s inauguration, most analysts tend to agree on this: The economy remains essentially the same sturdy one he inherited from Barack Obama.Growth has picked up, but it´s not yet clear if it can sustain a faster expansion. Hiring and wage growth actually slowed slightly from Obama´s last year in office. Consumers and businesses are much more optimistic, but their spending has yet to move meaningfully higher. A crazed, bug-eyed Cory Booker, junior senator from New Jersey, blasted Department of Homeland Security secretary Kristjen Nielsen during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday on immigration. Booker became so unhinged in his staged outrage that he repeatedly threatened Nielsen, with clenched fists pointed in her direction. Equal to Booker´s overt violation of Nielsen´s right to be treated without hostility and intimidation was the deranged content of his tirade. Nielsen had stated earlier she did not hear the president say the "s-hole" word at last week´s White House meeting on DACA. Booker went ballistic and accused Nielsen of covering up

Republicans are slamming Democratic Sen. Cory Booker for “mansplaining” to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen in a sharp and one-sided exchange Wednesday before a Senate committee. The New Jersey lawmaker blasted Nielsen´s "silence and amnesia" after failing to get the response he sought on her recollection of statements President Trump made in a meeting last week. Booker´s hostile tone prompted Republican National Committee Rapid Response Director Michael Ahrens to invoke the millennial term for males talking down to women.

Men can now look forward to a liberated future of wearing dresses. One such fashion designer, Alejandro Gomez Palomo of Spain, is helping to rush in that new era. According to the 25-year-old Palomo, whose public appearance looks as if Dracula spent a weekend at Liberace´s house, gender fluidity is a way of life he hopes that future men can share. In an interview with AFP, Palomo likened his fashion revolution to the ones ushered by Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent in the 20th century. "Chanel liberated women (after World War I) by dressing them in male fabrics like tweed,"

Wednesday on CNN’s “New Day,” Dr. Sanjay Gupta, the network’s chief medical correspondent, proclaimed that based on President Donald Trump’s coronary calcium scores going back to the previous decade, Trump has heart disease. Gupta’s diagnosis came a day after Trump’s doctor, Navy Rear Adm. Dr. Ronny Jackson, offered his assessment of Trump’s health at a White House press briefing. “When you look at the findings you just put up there, Alisyn — this coronary calcium score is a score a lot of cardiologists use to try and be predictive and be proactive,” Gupta said. “And if the number gets up

Three-quarters of the members of a federally chartered board advising the National Park Service abruptly quit Monday night out of frustration that Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke had refused to meet with them or convene a single meeting last year. The resignation of nine out of 12 National Park System Advisory Board members leaves the federal government without a functioning body to designate national historic or natural landmarks. It also underscores the extent to which federal advisory bodies have become marginalized under the Trump administration. In May 2017, Zinke suspended all outside committees while his staff reviewed their composition and work. In a

CNN´s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta said Wednesday that he believes tests reveal that President Trump has heart disease. Gupta said dating back to 2009, President Trump started to have "these tests that are actually looking for the presence of calcium in the blood vessels that lead to the heart." "Steadily, up until just this past week when he had it performed again, those numbers have gone up," he said. "When they get to a certain range ... that means he has heart disease." Gupta then talked about his interaction Tuesday with President Trump´s doctor, Navy Rear Adm. Dr.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Tuesday condemned President Trump’s combative attitude toward the press and called on Congress to protect journalists worldwide. “Whether Trump knows it or not, these efforts are being closely watched by foreign leaders who are already using his words as cover as they silence and shutter one of the key pillars of democracy,” McCain said in an opinion piece published in The Washington Post. McCain called the Trump administration’s treatment of journalists “inconsistent at best and hypocritical at worst,” particularly when it comes to condemning attacks on the press abroad. McCain cited foreign leaders who have

U.S. Border Patrol has been accused of causing the deaths of hundreds of migrants a year by destroying food and water supplies left for them in the brutal Arizona desert by humanitarian groups. On Wednesday, two humanitarian groups released a report, detailing how they´ve distributed more than 31,000 gallons of water along dangerous migrant paths in the Arizona desert between 2012 and 2015. In that time frame, they say volunteers have found these stashes of food and water destroyed 415 times - or about two times a week on average. ´Through statistical analysis, video evidence, and personal experience, our team has

In an exclusive interview with Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, FOX Business was told that Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, will likely receive the backing of mega-donors, not just within Utah, but across the country as he gets ready to announce his candidacy. “He’s given me every indication that he’s running. He’ll have a lot of support from the wealthy people that he knows from when he ran for president. The people on the same list of donors that he had before for 2012, including those from Utah, is a very good place for him to raise money,” Herbert, a

By the grace of God, and thanks to our robust and decentralized system of government, the U.S. has survived nearly a year with an unprepared, underinformed, incurious, incontinent narcissist as president. In fact, in some regards, we’ve even thrived during this past year. Still, the president’s character — mostly his colossal self-regard, his lack of self-control, and his unwillingness or inability to learn what he ought — made the year at times aggravating, terrifying, and certainly divisive. Trump hasn’t brought on any catastrophes yet, but he has frayed the nerves of his country. And there’s still three more years of this. I’m sure
