The Trump dossier’s credibility is collapsing
New York Post, by David Harsanyi

No sooner did Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, unilaterally release the testimony of Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson than liberals and their advocates in the media were claiming victory. Look, they argued, the Donald Trump investigation was completely justified because the infamous “dossier,” according to Simpson, had been corroborated by the FBI. It was a dramatic moment. Also, as far as we know, untrue. What we do know is that in the middle of a contentious campaign for the presidency, Democrats paid Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on Trump. The resulting, largely fictitious “dossier,”

McCain is into this cesspool up to his neck.

Notice that is is only something that can be used against Republicans that is kept on life support even after it has started to decompose and the stench is overwhelming. It seems like the standard for dealing with such stuff is it has to be fully disproven beyond the shadow of a doubt.

The supporters of the dossier seem to the point of saying that there IS a man named Trump that the dossier mentions and therefore there are some parts of it that are "verifiable".

Yet for dems like Hillary, who carries around a complete wardrobe of credible criminal outfits, they have to be proven beyond the slightest doubt and the perpetrator must be locked in jail in manacles before it could be said they are guilty.

The dossier was absurd from the start. Only those desperate and determined to attack Trump have any belief that it might have some truth buried in it; truth that NO ONE can find, even its creators.

But the haters of Trump have NOTHING else. They have carried out criminal and libelous acts based on the dossier, using it as a justifying shield. Their shield is in tatters with only wisps of smoke left.

Justice is slowly and patiently stalking them.

When can we get over the "if" stage as in if the dossier proves to have been the impetus for the FISA order, or spying without one. There has been no plausible alternative explanation offered by the intel community despite many opportunities to offer such. It´s staring us in the face. It´s like saying if the sun rises in the East and sets in the West....

The dossier never had any credibility to begin with. It was fished around during the primaries and general election, but nobody ever took it seriously. Our government took it seriously purely for political purposes to illegally impeach a duly elected President, and now looks stupid, dishonest, and incompetent for doing so. Everyone that pushed this pile of garbage should face criminal prosecution for their actions. They had no business trying to oust a President.

Imagine, if you will, a cabal of government employees expecting one person to easily win the presidential election, and then the other candidate, the one they couldn’t fathom leading the country, actually wins. Now imagine those government employees aren’t slogging away in the mailrooms of various departments, but they are the upper-echelon of the nation’s intelligence agencies and they resolve to cripple the newly-elected president anyway they can. You don’t have to imagine it, it happened. And we appear to be living in the aftermath of that effort. This is all “fiction,” of course, because none of what follows can be

What on earth are the Democrats doing? President Trump has nominated CIA director Mike Pompeo, eminently qualified by any reasonable standard, to be America´s seventieth secretary of state. And yet the Senate Democrats, led by Chuck Schumer, have perverted the advice and consent clause of the Constitution into a license to obstruct this solid nominee for one of the most important cabinet offices. The Democratic rationales for opposition are neither consistent nor compelling. But the party is heedlessly and recklessly trying to capsize the nomination anyway, without giving second thought to the potential consequences of its actions. If this doesn´t

Whale oil provided the lighting to read the breakthrough novel of 1870, the story of Captain Nemo in 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. That was also the year of the foundation of Standard Oil. The result of that foundation is that we didn’t hunt the whales to extinction, but instead turned to kerosene to light the latter part of the 19th century, moving to electricity only in the 20th. It really isn’t hyperbole to insist that John D. Rockefeller saved the whales by his making mineral oil products so much cheaper than the cetacean-derived equivalent. And that’s really all you need

Jim Comey’s entire shtick now consists of violating the proprieties expected of a former FBI director. But even as he turns up on late-night gag shows to profit off betrayed confidences, he presents himself as the custodian of America’s “norms.” In between complaining about how his job “sucked” at times and how he felt “pissed” off, he likes to play the holier-than-thou scold. WASHINGTON — Federal civil rights prosecutors have recommended charges against a New York police officer in the 2014 death of Eric Garner, three current and former officials said, but top Justice Department officials have expressed strong reservations about whether to move forward with a case they say may not be winnable. Mr. Garner died on a Staten Island street after the police officer, Daniel Pantaleo, used a chokehold to subdue him. Officers had confronted Mr. Garner, who was unarmed, over accusations of selling untaxed cigarettes. His final gasps of “I can’t breathe,” captured on a cellphone video, became a rallying cry

A pro-Trump political action committee has filed a complaint with the FEC alleging the Hillary Clinton campaign laundered $84 million in contributions from big-name donors, such as Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, filmmaker Steven Spielberg, and designer Calvin Klein. The complaint outlines a money laundering scheme that violated multiple campaign finance laws, specifically laws related to limits on contributions by independent donors. Both Zuckerberg and his data-mining company drew scrutiny in recent weeks after it was reported that it had sold information on users to Cambridge Analytica, which in turn used it to aid the Trump campaign. Although “A Higher Loyalty” is a brisk read with much to recommend it, the central message about how and why truth matters is one that I find troubling. For the first time in the history of the republic, it appears increasingly likely that a majority of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will vote against the president´s nominee for secretary of state. If this happens, it would be a black mark not on Mike Pompeo´s record, but on the reputation of this once-storied committee. There are no instances of a secretary of state nominee ever receiving an unfavorable committee vote since such votes were first publicly recorded in 1925 (before that, the committee voted in closed session).
